Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Exodus 12:14–28; Leviticus 23:4–8; Numbers 28:16–25)
1 AKJV Observe the month of Abib, and keep the passover to the LORD your God: for in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night. BSB BSB: Observe the month of Abib and celebrate the Passover to the LORD your God, because in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you out of Egypt by night.
2 AKJV You shall therefore sacrifice the passover to the LORD your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there. BSB BSB: You are to offer to the LORD your God the Passover sacrifice from the herd or flock in the place the LORD will choose as a dwelling for His Name.
3 AKJV You shall eat no leavened bread with it; seven days shall you eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: that you may remember the day when you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. BSB BSB: You must not eat leavened bread with it; for seven days you are to eat with it unleavened bread, the bread of affliction, because you left the land of Egypt in haste—so that you may remember for the rest of your life the day you left the land of Egypt.
4 AKJV And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your coast seven days; neither shall there any thing of the flesh, which you sacrificed the first day at even, remain all night until the morning. BSB BSB: No leaven is to be found in all your land for seven days, and none of the meat you sacrifice in the evening of the first day shall remain until morning.
5 AKJV You may not sacrifice the passover within any of your gates, which the LORD your God gives you: BSB BSB: You are not to sacrifice the Passover animal in any of the towns that the LORD your God is giving you.
6 AKJV But at the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place his name in, there you shall sacrifice the passover at even, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt. BSB BSB: You must only offer the Passover sacrifice at the place the LORD your God will choose as a dwelling for His Name. Do this in the evening as the sun sets, at the same time you departed from Egypt.
7 AKJV And you shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God shall choose: and you shall turn in the morning, and go to your tents. BSB BSB: And you shall roast it and eat it in the place the LORD your God will choose, and in the morning you shall return to your tents.
8 AKJV Six days you shall eat unleavened bread: and on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD your God: you shall do no work therein. BSB BSB: For six days you must eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day you shall hold a solemn assembly to the LORD your God, and you must not do any work.
The Feast of Weeks (Numbers 28:26–31)
9 AKJV Seven weeks shall you number to you: begin to number the seven weeks from such time as you begin to put the sickle to the corn. BSB BSB: You are to count off seven weeks from the time you first put the sickle to the standing grain.
10 AKJV And you shall keep the feast of weeks to the LORD your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give to the LORD your God, according as the LORD your God has blessed you: BSB BSB: And you shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the LORD your God with a freewill offering that you give in proportion to how the LORD your God has blessed you,
11 AKJV And you shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite that is within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are among you, in the place which the LORD your God has chosen to place his name there. BSB BSB: and you shall rejoice before the LORD your God in the place He will choose as a dwelling for His Name—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levite within your gates, as well as the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widows among you.
12 AKJV And you shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt: and you shall observe and do these statutes. BSB BSB: Remember that you were slaves in Egypt, and carefully follow these statutes.
The Feast of Tabernacles (Numbers 29:12–40)
13 AKJV You shall observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that you have gathered in your corn and your wine: BSB BSB: You are to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days after you have gathered the produce of your threshing floor and your winepress.
14 AKJV And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within your gates. BSB BSB: And you shall rejoice in your feast—you, your sons and daughters, your menservants and maidservants, and the Levite, as well as the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widows among you.
15 AKJV Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice. BSB BSB: For seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the LORD your God in the place He will choose, because the LORD your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that your joy will be complete.
16 AKJV Three times in a year shall all your males appear before the LORD your God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: BSB BSB: Three times a year all your men are to appear before the LORD your God in the place He will choose: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the LORD empty-handed.
17 AKJV Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD your God which he has given you. BSB BSB: Everyone must appear with a gift as he is able, according to the blessing the LORD your God has given you.
Judges and Justice 18 AKJV Judges and officers shall you make you in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, throughout your tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment. BSB BSB: You are to appoint judges and officials for your tribes in every town that the LORD your God is giving you. They are to judge the people with righteous judgment.
19 AKJV You shall not wrest judgment; you shall not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift does blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous. BSB BSB: Do not deny justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.
20 AKJV That which is altogether just shall you follow, that you may live, and inherit the land which the LORD your God gives you. BSB BSB: Pursue justice, and justice alone, so that you may live, and you may possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
Forbidden Forms of Worship 22 AKJV Neither shall you set you up any image; which the LORD your God hates. BSB BSB: and do not set up for yourselves a sacred pillar, which the LORD your God hates.
