God Promises Deliverance 1 AKJV Then the LORD said to Moses, Now shall you see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. BSB BSB: But the LORD said to Moses, “Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, for because of My mighty hand he will let the people go; because of My strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
2 AKJV And God spoke to Moses, and said to him, I am the LORD: BSB BSB: God also told Moses, “I am the LORD.
3 AKJV And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. BSB BSB: I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by My name the LORD I did not make Myself known to them.
4 AKJV And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. BSB BSB: I also established My covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land where they lived as foreigners.
5 AKJV And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. BSB BSB: Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered My covenant.
6 AKJV Why say to the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: BSB BSB: Therefore tell the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians and deliver you from their bondage. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.
7 AKJV And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and you shall know that I am the LORD your God, which brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. BSB BSB: I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.
8 AKJV And I will bring you in to the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD. BSB BSB: And I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD!’”
9 AKJV And Moses spoke so to the children of Israel: but they listened not to Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage. BSB BSB: Moses relayed this message to the Israelites, but on account of their broken spirit and cruel bondage, they did not listen to him.
10 AKJV And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, BSB BSB: So the LORD said to Moses,
11 AKJV Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land. BSB BSB: “Go and tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his land.”
12 AKJV And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not listened to me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? BSB BSB: But in the LORD’s presence Moses replied, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, then why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I am unskilled in speech?”
13 AKJV And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, and gave them a charge to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt. BSB BSB: Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a charge concerning both the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt.

16 AKJV And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi were an hundred thirty and seven years. 17 AKJV The sons of Gershon; Libni, and Shimi, according to their families. BSB BSB: The sons of Gershon were Libni and Shimei, by their clans.
18 AKJV And the sons of Kohath; Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath were an hundred thirty and three years. BSB BSB: The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years.
19 AKJV And the sons of Merari; Mahali and Mushi: these are the families of Levi according to their generations. BSB BSB: The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites according to their records.
20 AKJV And Amram took him Jochebed his father’s sister to wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years. BSB BSB: And Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and she bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years.
21 AKJV And the sons of Izhar; Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri. BSB BSB: The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg, and Zichri.
22 AKJV And the sons of Uzziel; Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Zithri. BSB BSB: The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan, and Sithri.
23 AKJV And Aaron took him Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to wife; and she bore him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar. BSB BSB: And Aaron married Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 AKJV And the sons of Korah; Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these are the families of the Korhites. BSB BSB: The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These were the clans of the Korahites.
25 AKJV And Eleazar Aaron’s son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bore him Phinehas: these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites according to their families. BSB BSB: Aaron’s son Eleazar married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families by their clans.
26 AKJV These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said, Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their armies. BSB BSB: It was this Aaron and Moses to whom the LORD said, “Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their divisions.”
27 AKJV These are they which spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt: these are that Moses and Aaron. BSB BSB: Moses and Aaron were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt in order to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.
28 AKJV And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, BSB BSB: Now on the day that the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt,
29 AKJV That the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, I am the LORD: speak you to Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I say to you. BSB BSB: He said to him, “I am the LORD; tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I say to you.”
30 AKJV And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh listen to me? BSB BSB: But in the LORD’s presence Moses replied, “Since I am unskilled in speech, why would Pharaoh listen to me?”
