Ezekiel’s Call 1 AKJV And he said to me, Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you. BSB BSB: “Son of man,” He said to me, “stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.”
2 AKJV And the spirit entered into me when he spoke to me, and set me on my feet, that I heard him that spoke to me. BSB BSB: And as He spoke to me, the Spirit entered me and set me on my feet, and I heard Him speaking to me.
3 AKJV And he said to me, Son of man, I send you to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even to this very day. BSB BSB: “Son of man,” He said to me, “I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against Me. To this very day they and their fathers have rebelled against Me.
4 AKJV For they are impudent children and stiff hearted. I do send you to them; and you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD. BSB BSB: They are obstinate and stubborn children. I am sending you to them, and you are to say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says.’
5 AKJV And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there has been a prophet among them. BSB BSB: And whether they listen or refuse to listen—for they are a rebellious house—they will know that a prophet has been among them.
6 AKJV And you, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with you, and you do dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. BSB BSB: But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns surround you, and you dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their presence, though they are a rebellious house.
7 AKJV And you shall speak my words to them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. BSB BSB: But speak My words to them, whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.
8 AKJV But you, son of man, hear what I say to you; Be not you rebellious like that rebellious house: open your mouth, and eat that I give you. BSB BSB: And you, son of man, listen to what I tell you. Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I give you.”
9 AKJV And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent to me; and, see, a roll of a book was therein; BSB BSB: Then I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me, and in it was a scroll,
10 AKJV And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe. BSB BSB: which He unrolled before me. And written on the front and back of it were words of lamentation, mourning, and woe.
