2 AKJV Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to you, O Baruch: BSB BSB: “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch:
3 AKJV You did say, Woe is me now! for the LORD has added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. BSB BSB: You have said, ‘Woe is me because the LORD has added sorrow to my pain! I am worn out with groaning and have found no rest.’”
4 AKJV Thus shall you say to him, The LORD says thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. BSB BSB: Thus Jeremiah was to say to Baruch: “This is what the LORD says: Throughout the land I will demolish what I have built and uproot what I have planted.
5 AKJV And seek you great things for yourself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh, says the LORD: but your life will I give to you for a prey in all places where you go. BSB BSB: But as for you, do you seek great things for yourself? Stop seeking! For I will bring disaster on every living creature, declares the LORD, but wherever you go, I will grant your life as a spoil of war.”
