The Vision of Joshua the High Priest 1 AKJV And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. BSB BSB: Then the angel showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, with Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him.
2 AKJV And the LORD said to Satan, The LORD rebuke you, O Satan; even the LORD that has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? BSB BSB: And the LORD said to Satan: “The LORD rebukes you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebukes you! Is not this man a firebrand snatched from the fire?”
3 AKJV Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. BSB BSB: Now Joshua was dressed in filthy garments as he stood before the angel.
4 AKJV And he answered and spoke to those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And to him he said, Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with change of raiment. BSB BSB: So the angel said to those standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes!” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have removed your iniquity, and I will clothe you with splendid robes.”
5 AKJV And I said, Let them set a fair turban on his head. So they set a fair turban on his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the LORD stood by. BSB BSB: Then I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So a clean turban was placed on his head, and they clothed him, as the angel of the LORD stood by.
6 AKJV And the angel of the LORD protested to Joshua, saying, BSB BSB: Then the angel of the LORD gave this charge to Joshua:
7 AKJV Thus says the LORD of hosts; If you will walk in my ways, and if you will keep my charge, then you shall also judge my house, and shall also keep my courts, and I will give you places to walk among these that stand by. BSB BSB: “This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘If you walk in My ways and keep My instructions, then you will govern My house and will also have charge of My courts; and I will give you a place among these who are standing here.
8 AKJV Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you, and your fellows that sit before you: for they are men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. BSB BSB: Hear now, O high priest Joshua, you and your companions seated before you, who are indeed a sign. For behold, I am going to bring My servant, the Branch.
9 AKJV For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; on one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the engraving thereof, says the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day. BSB BSB: See the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave on it an inscription, declares the LORD of Hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in a single day.
10 AKJV In that day, says the LORD of hosts, shall you call every man his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree. BSB BSB: On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, you will each invite your neighbor to sit under your own vine and fig tree.’”
