1 ULB ልጁ ኢዮሳፍጥ በእርሱ ቦታ ነገሠ፤ በእስራኤልም ላይ ራሱን አጠነከረ፡፡ BSB BSB: Asa’s son Jehoshaphat reigned in his place, and he strengthened himself against Israel.
2 ULB በተመሸጉትም በይሁዳ ከተሞች ሁሉ ወታደሮችን አስቀመጠ፤ በይሁዳም ምድር እና አባቱ አሳ በያዛቸው የኤፍሬም ከተሞች ውስጥ የጦር ሠፈር አደራጀ፡፡ BSB BSB: He stationed troops in every fortified city of Judah and put garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim that his father Asa had captured.
3 ULB በአባቱ በዳዊት በፊተኛይቱ መንገድ ስለሄደና በአሊምንም ስላልፈለገ እግዚአብሔር ከኢዮሣፍጥ ጋር ነበረ፡፡ BSB BSB: Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the earlier ways of his father David. He did not seek the Baals,
4 ULB በዚያ ፈንታ በአባቱ አምላክ ላይ ተደገፈ፤ እንደ እስራኤል ባህርይ ሳይሆን በአምላኩ ትዕዛዛት መሠረት ሄደ፡፡ BSB BSB: but he sought the God of his father and walked by His commandments rather than the practices of Israel.
5 ULB በመሆኑም እግዚአብሔር መንግሥቱን በእጁ አጸናለት፤ ይሁዳ ሁሉ ለኢዮሣፍጥ ግብር ያመጡለት ነበር፡፡ የተትረፈረፈ ባለጠግነትና ክብርም ነበረው፡፡ BSB BSB: So the LORD established the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah brought him tribute, so that he had an abundance of riches and honor.
6 ULB ልቡም በእግዚአብሔር መንገድ የጸና ነበረ፡፡ መስገጃዎቹንና የማምለኪያ ዐፀዶቹንም ከይሁዳ አስወገደ፡፡ BSB BSB: And his heart took delight in the ways of the LORD; furthermore, he removed the high places and Asherah poles from Judah.
7 ULB በነገሠም በሦስተኛው ዓመት ያስተምሩ ዘንድ ባለሥልጣናቱን ቤንኃይልን፥ አብድያስን፥ ዘካርያስን፥ ናትናኤልንና ሚኪያስን ወደ ይሁዳ ከተሞች ላካቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: In the third year of his reign, Jehoshaphat sent his officials Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah to teach in the cities of Judah,
8 ULB ከእነርሱም ጋር ሌዋውያኑ ሸማያ፥ነታንያ፥ ዝባድያ፥ አሣኤል፥ ሰሚራሞት፥ዮናትን፥ አዶንያስ፥ ጦብያ እና ጠባዶንያ ነበሩ፡፡ ከእነርሱም ጋር ካህናቱ ኤሊሳማና ኢዮራም ነበሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: accompanied by certain Levites—Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah—along with the priests Elishama and Jehoram.
9 ULB እነርሱም የእግዚአብሔር የሕግ መጽሐፍ ከእነርሱ ጋር ስለነበር በይሁዳ አስተማሩ፡፡በይሁዳ ከተሞች ሁሉ ተዘዋውረው በሕዝቡ መካከል አስተማሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: They taught throughout Judah, taking with them the Book of the Law of the LORD. They went throughout the towns of Judah and taught the people.
10 ULB በይሁዳ ዙሪያ በነበሩት አገራት ነገሥታት ላይ የእግዚአብሔር ድንጋጤ ስለወደቀባቸው ከኢዮሣፍጥ ጋር ምንም ጦርነት አላደረጉም፡፡ BSB BSB: And the dread of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that surrounded Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat.
11 ULB የተወሰኑት ፍልስጤማውያን ለኢዮሳፍጥ ስጦታዎችና ብር እንደ ግብር ያመጡለት ነበር፡፡ አረቦችም ሰባት ሺህ ሰባት መቶ የአውራ በጎችና ሰባት ሺህ ሰባት መቶ የፍየሎች መንጋዎችን አመጡለት፡፡ BSB BSB: Some Philistines also brought gifts and silver as tribute to Jehoshaphat, and the Arabs brought him 7,700 rams and 7,700 goats from their flocks.
12 ULB ኢዮሣፍጥም እጅግ ብርቱ ሆነ፤ በይሁዳም ትልልቅ ምሽጎችንና የመጋዘን ከተሞችን ሠራ፡፡ BSB BSB: Jehoshaphat grew stronger and stronger, and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah
13 ULB በይሁዳም ከተሞች በርካታ አቅርቦት እና በኢየሩሳሌምም ጠንካራና ደፋር ሰዎች- ወታደሮች ነበሩት፡፡ BSB BSB: and kept vast supplies in the cities of Judah. He also had warriors in Jerusalem who were mighty men of valor.
14 ULB በአባቶቻቸው ቤቶች ስም ቅደም ተከተል ዝርዝራቸው ይህ ነው፤ ከይሁዳ የሺዎች አዣዦች፥ አዣዡ ዓድና ከእርሱም ጋር ሦስት መቶ ሺህ ተዋጊ ሰዎች፤ BSB BSB: These are their numbers according to the houses of their fathers: From Judah, the commanders of thousands: Adnah the commander, and with him 300,000 mighty men of valor;
15 ULB ከእርሱም ቀጥሎ አለቃው ይሆሐናን፥ ከእርሱም ጋር ሁለት መቶ ሰማንያ ሺህ ሰዎች ነበሩ፤ BSB BSB: next to him, Jehohanan the commander, and with him 280,000;
16 ULB ከእርሱም ቀጥሎ ራሱን በፈቃዱ እግዚአብሔርን ለማገልገል ያቀረበ የዝክሪ ልጅ ዓማስያ ከእርሱም ጋር ሁለት መቶ ሺህ ተዋጊ ሰዎች ነበሩ፤ BSB BSB: and next to him, Amasiah son of Zichri, the volunteer for the LORD, and with him 200,000 mighty men of valor.
17 ULB ከቢኒያም ኃይለኛ ደፋር ሰው የነበረው ኤሊዳሄ ከእርሱም ጋር ቀስትና ጋሻ የሚይዙ ሁለት መቶ ሺህ ተዋጊ ሰዎች ነበሩ፤ BSB BSB: From Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, and with him 200,000 armed with bows and shields;
18 ULB ከእርሱም ቀጥሎ ዮዛባት ከእርሱም ጋር ለጦርነት የተዘጋጁ መቶ ሰማንያ ሺህ ሰዎች ነበሩ፤ BSB BSB: and next to him, Jehozabad, and with him 180,000 armed for battle.
19 ULB ንጉሡ በተመሸጉት የይሁዳ ከተሞች ሁሉ ካስቀመጣቸው በተጨማሪ እነዚህ ንጉሡን የሚያገለግሉ ነበሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: These were the men who served the king, besides those he stationed in the fortified cities throughout Judah.
