1. 1ULBኢዮሳፍጥም ከአባቶቹ ጋር አንቀላፋ፤ በዳዊትም ከተማ ከእነርሱ ጋር ተቀበረ፤ ልጁም ኢዮራም በእርሱ ቦታ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David. And his son Jehoram reigned in his place.
2. 2ULBኢዮራም የኢዮሳፍጥ ልጆች የሆኑ ወንድሞች ዓዛርያስ፥ ይሒኤል፥ ዘካርያስ፥ ዔዛርያስ፥ ሚካኤልና ሰፋጥያስ ነበሩት፡፡ እነዚህ ሁሉ የይሁዳ ንጉሥ የኢዮሳፍጥ ልጆች ነበሩ፡፡BSBBSB: Jehoram’s brothers, the sons of Jehoshaphat, were Azariah, Jehiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shephatiah; these were all sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
3. 3ULBአባታቸው ብዙ የብር፥ የወርቅ እና የሌሎች የከበሩ ነገሮች እንዲሁም በይሁዳም የተመሸጉ ከተሞችን ሰጣቸው፤ ዙፋኑን ግን የመጀመሪያ ልጁ ስለነበር ለኢዮራም ሰጠው፡፡BSBBSB: Their father had given them many gifts of silver and gold and precious things, as well as the fortified cities in Judah; but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.
4. 4ULBኢዮራም በአባቱ መንግሥት ላይ በወጣና ራሱን እንደ ንጉሥ አጽንቶ በመሠረተ ጊዜ ወንድሞቹን ሁሉና የተለያዩ የእስራኤል ሌሎች መሪዎችን ጭምር በሰይፍ ገደላቸው፡፡BSBBSB: When Jehoram had established himself over his father’s kingdom, he strengthened himself by putting to the sword all his brothers along with some of the princes of Israel.
5. 5ULBኢዮራምም መንገሥ በጀመረ ጊዜ ሠላሳ ሁለት ዓመቱ ነበር፤ በኢየሩሳሌምም ስምንት ዓመት ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years.
6. 6ULBየአክዓብን ሴት ልጅ አግብቶ ስለነበር የአክዓብ ቤት ያደርግ እንደነበር በእስራኤል ነገሥታት መንገድ ሄደ፤ በእግዚአብሔርም ፊት ክፉ የነበረውን ነገር አደረገ፡፡BSBBSB: And Jehoram walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, just as the house of Ahab had done. For he married a daughter of Ahab and did evil in the sight of the LORD.
7. 7ULBነገር ግን እግዚአብሔር ከዳዊት ጋር ካደረገው ቃል ኪዳን የተነሳ የዳዊትን ቤት ለማጥፋት አልፈለገም፤ ለአርሱና ለዝርያዎቹ ሁልጊዜ ሕይወት እንደሚሰጣቸው ቃል ገብቶላቸው ነበር፡፡BSBBSB: Yet the LORD was unwilling to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant He had made with David, and since He had promised to maintain a lamp for David and his descendants forever.
8. 8ULBበኢዮራም ዘመን ኤዶምያስ በይሁዳ ኃይል ላይ ዐመፀ፤ በራሳቸውም ላይ ንጉሥ ሾሙ፡፡BSBBSB: In the days of Jehoram, Edom rebelled against the hand of Judah and appointed their own king.
9. 9ULBበዚያን ጊዜ ኢዮራም ከአዛዦቹና ከሠረገላዎቹ ሁሉ ጋር ተሻገረ፤ በሌሊትም ተነስቶ እርሱንና የሠረገላዎቹን አዛዦች ከብበው የነበሩትን ኤዶማውያንን መታ፡፡BSBBSB: So Jehoram crossed into Edom with his officers and all his chariots. When the Edomites surrounded him and his chariot commanders, he rose up and attacked by night.
10. 10ULBበመሆኑም እስከ ዛሬዋ ቀን ድረስ ኤዶምያስ በይሁዳ ኃይል ላይ እንዳመፀ ነው፡፡ ኢዮራም የአባቶቹን አምላክ እግዚአብሔርን ስለተወ የልብና ከተማ ጭምር በዚያው ጊዜ በኃይሉ ላይ ዐመጸ፡፡BSBBSB: So to this day Edom has been in rebellion against the hand of Judah. Likewise, Libnah rebelled against his hand at the same time, because Jehoram had forsaken the LORD, the God of his fathers.
11. 11ULBበተጨማሪም ኢዮራም በይሁዳ ተራራዎች ላይ መስገጃዎችን ሠርቶ ነበር፤ የኢየሩሳሌምን ነዋሪዎችም እንደ አመንዝራ ሌሎች አማልክትን እንዲከተሉ አደረጋቸው፡፡ በዚህ መንገድ ይሁዳን ከትክክለኛው መስመር አስወጣቸው፡፡BSBBSB: Jehoram had also built high places on the hills of Judah; he had caused the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves and had led Judah astray.
12. 12ULBከነቢዩም ከኤልያስ አንድ ደብዳቤ ወደ ኢዮራም መጣለት፤ የአባትህ የዳዊት አምላክ እግዚአብሔር የሚለው ይህ ነው፦" በአባትህ በኢዮሳፍጥ መንገድ ወይም በይሁዳ ንጉሥ በአሳ መንገድ ስላልሄድህBSBBSB: Then a letter came to Jehoram from Elijah the prophet, which stated: “This is what the LORD, the God of your father David, says: ‘You have not walked in the ways of your father Jehoshaphat or of Asa king of Judah,
13. 13ULBነገር ግን በእስራኤል ነገሥታት መንገድ ስለሄድህ ይሁዳንና የኢየሩሳሌምን ነዋሪዎች የአክዓብ ቤት እንዳደረገ እንደ አመንዝራ ሌሎች አማልክትን እንዲከተሉ ስላደረግሃቸው፤ በአባትህ ቤተሰብም ውስጥ ከአንተ የሚሻሉ የነበሩትን ወንድሞችህን በሰይፍ ስለገደልካቸውBSBBSB: but you have walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and have caused Judah and the people of Jerusalem to prostitute themselves, just as the house of Ahab prostituted itself. You have also killed your brothers, your father’s family, who were better than you.
14. 14ULBእነሆ እግዚአብሔር ሕዝብህን፥ ልጆችህን፥ ሚስቶችህን እና ሀብትህንም ሁሉ በታላቅ መቅሰፍት ይመታል፡፡BSBBSB: So behold, the LORD is about to strike your people, your sons, your wives, and all your possessions with a serious blow.
15. 15ULBአንተም ራስህ ከበሽታው የተነሳ ከቀን ወደ ቀን አንጀትህ እስኪወጣ ድረስ በአንጀትህ ሕመም እጅግ ትታመማለህ፡፡"BSBBSB: And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”
16. 16ULBእግዚአብሔርም የፍልስጤማውያንን እና በኢትዮጵያውያን አጠገብ ይኖሩ የነበሩትን የዓረባውያንን መንፈስ በኢዮራም ላይ አስነሳበት፡፡BSBBSB: Then the LORD stirred against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines and Arabs who lived near the Cushites.
17. 17ULBእነርሱም ይሁዳን አጠቁ፤ ወረሩአትም፤ በንጉሡ ቤት ውስጥ የተገኘውን ሀብት ሁሉ ወሰዱ፤ ወንዶች ልጆቹንና ሚስቶቹንም ወሰዱ፡፡ ከታናሹ ልጁ ከአካዝያስ በስተቀር ምንም ልጅ አልቀረለትም፡፡BSBBSB: So they went to war against Judah, invaded it, and carried off all the possessions found in the king’s palace, along with his sons and wives; not a son was left to him except Jehoahaz, his youngest.
18. 18ULBከዚህ ሁሉ በኋላ እግዚአብሔር ሊድን በማይችል በሽታ አንጀቱን መታው፤BSBBSB: After all this, the LORD afflicted Jehoram with an incurable disease of the bowels.
19. 19ULBበተገቢው ጊዜ በሁለቱ ዓመት መጨረሻ ከሕመሙ የተነሳ አንጀቱ ወጣ፤ በብርቱ በሽታም ሞተ፡፡ ሕዝቡም ለእርሱ አባቶች እንዳደረገው ለክብሩ ምንም ችቦ አላበራም፡፡BSBBSB: This continued day after day until two full years had passed. Finally, his intestines came out because of his disease, and he died in severe pain. And his people did not make a fire in his honor as they had done for his fathers.
20. 20ULBበሠላሳ ሁለት ዓመቱ ላይ መንገሥ ጀምሮ ነበር፤ በኢየሩሳሌምም ስምንት ዓመት ነገሠ፤ ማንም ሳያዝንለት ሞተ፡፡ በነገሥታቱ መቃብር ሳይሆን በዳዊት ከተማ ቀበሩት፡፡BSBBSB: Jehoram was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years. He died, to no one’s regret, and was buried in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.
