1. 1ULBዳግማዊ ኢዮርብዓም በእስራኤል በነገሠ በሃያ ሰባተኛው ዓመት የአሜስያስ ልጅ ዓዛርያስ በይሁዳ ንጉሥ ሆነ፡፡BSBBSB: In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam’s reign over Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah became king of Judah.
2. 2ULBእርሱም በነገሠ ጊዜ ዕድሜው ዐሥራ ስድስት ዓመት ነበረ፤ እርሱም በኢየሩሳሌም ሃምሳ ሁለት ዓመት ገዛ፤ እናቱም ይኮልያ ተብላ የምትጠራ የኢየሩሳሌም ተወላጅ ነበረች፡፡BSBBSB: He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother’s name was Jecoliah; she was from Jerusalem.
3. 3ULBእርሱም የአባቱን መልካም አርአያነት በመከተል እግዚአብሔርን ደስ የሚያሰኝ ሥራ ሠራ፡፡BSBBSB: And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Amaziah had done.
4. 4ULBነገር ግን በየኮረብቶቹ ላይ የነበሩትን የአሕዛብን የማምለኪያ ቦታዎች አላጠፋቸውም ነበር፤ ስለዚህም ሕዝቡ በየኮረብቶቹ ላይ መሥዋዕት ማቅረባቸውንና ዕጣን ማጠናቸውን እንደ ቀጠሉ ነበር፤BSBBSB: Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there.
5. 5ULBበኋላም እግዚአብሔር ዓዛርያስን በቆዳ በሽታ መታው፤ እስከ ዕለተ ሞቱ ድረስ ይህ በሽታ ስላልለቀቀው ከሥራው ሁሉ ተገልሎ በተለየ ቤት ውስጥ ለብቻው ይኖር ነበር፤ በዚህም ጊዜ መንግሥቱን ሲመራ የቆየው ልጁ ኢዮአታም ነበር፡፡BSBBSB: And the LORD afflicted the king with leprosy until the day he died, so that he lived in a separate house while his son Jotham had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.
6. 6ULBንጉሥ ዓዛርያስ ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ በይሁዳ ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ውስጥ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Azariah, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
7. 7ULBዓዛርያስም ሞተ፤ በዳዊት ከተማ በሚገኘው በቀድሞ አባቶቹ መካነ መቃብር ተቀበረ፤ በእርሱም ፈንታ ተተክቶ ልጁ ኢዮአታም ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: And Azariah rested with his fathers and was buried near them in the City of David. And his son Jotham reigned in his place.
8. 8ULBዓዛርያስ በይሁዳ በነገሠ በሠላሳ ስምንተኛው ዓመት የዳግማዊ ኢዮርብዓም ልጅ ዘካርያስ በእስራኤል ነገሠ፤ እርሱም በሰማርያ ስድስት ወር ገዛ፡፡BSBBSB: In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria six months.
9. 9ULBእርሱም ከእርሱ በፊት እንደ ነበሩት ነገሥታት ሁሉ ኃጢአት በመሥራት እግዚአብሔርን አሳዘነ፤ እዲሁም እስራኤልን ወደ ኃጢአት መራ፤ የናባጥ ልጅ የንጉሥ ኢዮርብዓምን መጥፎ አርአያነት ተከተለ፡፡BSBBSB: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done. He did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
10. 10ULBሰሎም ተብሎ የሚጠራው የኢያቤስ ልጅ ሤራ በማድረግ ይብልዓም ተብላ በምትጠራው ስፍራ ንጉሥ ዘካርያስን ገድሎ በእርሱ ፈንታ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: Then Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah, struck him down and killed him in front of the people, and reigned in his place.
11. 11ULBንጉሥ ዘካርያስ ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ በእስራኤል ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Zechariah, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
12. 12ULBበዚህም ዓይነት እግዚአብሔር ለንጉሥ ኢዩ ልጆችህ እስከ አራት ትውልድ በእስራኤል ይነግሣሉ ሲል የተናገው የተስፋ ቃል ተፈጸመ፡፡BSBBSB: So the word of the LORD spoken to Jehu was fulfilled: “Four generations of your sons will sit on the throne of Israel.”
13. 13ULBዓዛርያስ በይሁዳ በነገሠ በሠላሳ ዘጠነኛው ዓመት የኢያቤስ ልጅ ሰሎም የእስራኤል ንጉሥ ሆነ፡፡ እርሱም በሰማርያ አንድ ወር ብቻ ገዛ፡፡BSBBSB: In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah’s reign over Judah, Shallum son of Jabesh became king, and he reigned in Samaria one full month.
14. 14ULBምናሔ ተብሎ የሚጠራው የጋዲ ልጅ ከቲርጻ ተነሥቶ ወደ ሰማርያ ሄደ፤ የኢያቤስን ልጅ ሰሎምን ገድሎም በእርሱ ፈንታ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: Then Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah to Samaria, struck down and killed Shallum son of Jabesh, and reigned in his place.
15. 15ULBሰሎም ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ እንዲሁም እርሱ የጠነሰሰው ሤራ ሁሉ በእስራኤል ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Shallum, along with the conspiracy he led, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
16. 16ULBምናሔም ከቲርጻ ተነሥቶ በሚያልፍበት ጊዜ የቲፍሳን ከተማ ነዋሪዎችና በዙሪያዋ የነበረውን ግዛት ሁሉ ደመሰሰ፡፡ ይህንንም ያደረገበት ምክንያት የከተማይቱ ነዋሪዎች ለእርሱ እጃቸውን ለመስጠት ባለመፍቀዳቸው ነበር፤ ከዚህም የተነሣ ነፍሰ ጡሮችን እንኳ ሳይምር ሆዳቸውን ቀደደ፡፡BSBBSB: At that time Menahem, starting from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in its vicinity, because they would not open their gates. So he attacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.
17. 17ULBዓዛርያስ በይሁዳ በነገሠ በሠላሳ ዘጠነኛው ዓመት የጋዲ ልጅ ምናሔም በእስራኤል ነገሠ፡፡ እርሱም በሰማርያ ዐሥር ዓመት ገዛ፡፡BSBBSB: In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria ten years.
18. 18ULBእስከ ዕድሜው ፍጻሜ ድረስ እስራኤልን ወደ ኃጢአት የመራ የናባጥ ልጅ የኢርብዓምን መጥፎ አርአያነት በመከተል ኃጢአት በመሥራቱም እግዚአብሔርን አሳዘነ፡፡BSBBSB: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and throughout his reign he did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
19. 19ULBየአሦር ንጉሠ ነገሥት ፎሐ እስራኤልን ወረረ፤ ምናሔም በአገሩ መንግሥት ላይ ሥልጣኑን እንዲያጸናለትና እንዲደግፈው ለመማጠን ሠላሳ አራት ሺህ ኪሎ የሚመዝን ብር እጅ መንሻ አድርጎ ለፎሐሰጠው፡፡BSBBSB: Then Pul king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver in order to gain his support and strengthen his own grip on the kingdom.
20. 20ULBምናሔም ገንዘቡን የሰበሰበው የእስራኤል ከበርቴዎች እየንዳንዳቸው ኀምሳ ጥሬ ብር አዋጥተው እንዲሰጡ በማስገደድ ነበር፡፡ በዚህም ዓይነት ፎሐ በሰላም ወደ አገሩ ተመልሶ ሄደ፡፡BSBBSB: Menahem exacted this money from each of the wealthy men of Israel—fifty shekels of silver from each man—to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria withdrew and did not remain in the land.
21. 21ULBምናሔም ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ በእስራኤል ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Menahem, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
22. 22ULBምናሔም ከአባቶቹ ጋር አንቀላፋ፤ በእርሱም ፈንታ ተተክቶ ልጁ ፋቂስያስ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: And Menahem rested with his fathers, and his son Pekahiah reigned in his place.
23. 23ULBዓዛርያስ በይሁዳ በነገሠ በኀምሳኛው ዓመት የምናሔም ልጅ ፋቂስያስ በእስራኤል ነገሠ፤ እርሱም በሰማርያ ሁለት ዓመት ገዛ፡፡BSBBSB: In the fiftieth year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel and reigned in Samaria two years.
24. 24ULBእስራኤልን ወደ ኃጢአት የመራ የናባጥ ልጅ የንጉሥ ኢዮርብዓምን መጥፎ አርአያነት በመከተል ኃጢአት ስለ ሠራ እግዚአብሔርን አሳዘነ፡፡BSBBSB: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
25. 25ULBበፋቂስያስ ሠራዊት መካከል ፋቁሔ ተብሎ የሚጠራው የሮሜልዩ ልጅ የሆነ አንድ የጦር አዛዥ ከኀምሳ የገለዓድ ሰዎች ጋር ሆኖ ሤራ ጠነሰሰ፤ በሰማርያ በቤተ መንግሥቱ ውስጥ በሚገኘው ምሽግ ውስጥ ዘልቆ በመግባትም ፋቂስያስን ከአርጎብና ከአርዬ ጋር ገድሎ በፋቂስያስ ፈንታ ተተክቶ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: Then his officer, Pekah son of Remaliah, conspired against him along with Argob, Arieh, and fifty men of Gilead. And at the citadel of the king’s palace in Samaria, Pekah struck down and killed Pekahiah and reigned in his place.
26. 26ULBፋቂስያስ ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ በእስራኤል ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, along with all his accomplishments, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
27. 27ULBዓዛርያስ በይሁዳ በነገሠ በኀምሳ ሁለተኛው ዓመት የሮሜልዩ ልጅ ፋቁሔ በእስራኤል ነገሠ፤ እርሱም በሰማርያ ሃያ ዓመት ገዛ፡፡BSBBSB: In the fifty-second year of Azariah’s reign over Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria twenty years.
28. 28ULBእስራኤልን ወደ ኃጢአት የመራውን የናባጥ ልጅ የንጉሥ ኢዮርብዓምን መጥፎ አርአያነት በመከተል ኃጢአት ስለ ሠራ እግዚአብሔርን አሳዘነ፡፡BSBBSB: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and did not turn away from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
29. 29ULBየአሦር ንጉሠ ነገሥት ቴልጌልቴልፌልሶር ዒዮን፣ አቤልቤትመዓካ፣ ያኖዋ፣ ቃዴስና ሐጾር ተብለው የሚጠሩትን ከተሞች እንዲሁም የገለዓድን፣ የገሊላንና የንፍታሌምን ግዛቶች በመውረር ሕዝቡን ወደ አሦር ማርኮ የወሰደው ይኸው ፋቁሔ በነገሠበት ዘመን ነበር፡፡BSBBSB: In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali, and he took the people as captives to Assyria.
30. 30ULBየዖዝያንም ልጅ ኢዮአታም በይሁዳ በነገሠ በሃያኛው ዓመት የኤላ ልጅ ሆሴዕ በንጉሥ ፋቁሔ ላይ ሤራ ጠነሰሰ፤ እርሱንም ገድሎ በእስራኤል ላይ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: Then Hoshea son of Elah led a conspiracy against Pekah son of Remaliah. In the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah, Hoshea attacked Pekah, killed him, and reigned in his place.
31. 31ULBፋቁሔ ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ በእስራኤል ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Pekah, along with all his accomplishments, they are indeed written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
32. 32ULBየሮሜልዩ ልጅ ፋቁሔ በእስራኤል በነገሠ በሁለተኛው ዓመት የዖዝያን ልጅ ኢዮአታም የይሁዳ ንጉሥ ሆነ፡፡BSBBSB: In the second year of the reign of Pekah son of Remaliah over Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah became king of Judah.
33. 33ULBበነገሠም ጊዜ ዕድሜው ሃያ አምስት ዓመት ነበር፤ በኢየሩሳሌም ዐሥራ ስድሰት ዓመት ገዛ፡፡ እናቱም ኢየሩሳ ተብላ የምትጠራ የሳዶቅ ልጅ ነበረች፡፡BSBBSB: He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.
34. 34ULBየአባቱንም የዖዝያንን መልካም አርአያነት በመከተል እግዚአብሔርን ደስ የሚያሰኝ ሥራ ሠራ፡፡BSBBSB: And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, just as his father Uzziah had done.
35. 35ULBነገር ግን በየኮረብቶቹ ላይ የነበሩትን የአሕዛብን መሠዊያዎች አላስወገደም፤ ሕዝቡም መሥዋዕት ማቅረባቸውንና ዕጣን ማጠናቸውን እንደ ቀጠሉ ነበር፤ የቤተ መቅደሱን ሰሜናዊ ቅጥር በር ያሠራው ይኸው ኢዮአታም ነበር፡፡BSBBSB: Nevertheless, the high places were not taken away; the people continued sacrificing and burning incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the house of the LORD.
36. 36ULBኢዮአታም ያደረገው ሌላው ነገር ሁሉ በይሁዳ ነገሥታት የታሪክ መጽሐፍ ተመዝግቦ ይገኛል፡፡BSBBSB: As for the rest of the acts of Jotham, along with his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
37. 37ULBእግዚአብሔር በመጀመሪያ የሶርያ ንጉሥ ረአሶንና የእስራኤል ንጉሥ ፋቁሔ በይሁዳ ላይ አደጋ እንዲጥሉባት የላካቸው ይኸው ኢዮአታም በይሁዳ በነገሠበት ዘመን ነበር፡፡BSBBSB: (In those days the LORD began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.)
38. 38ULBኢዮአታምም ከአባቶቹ ጋር አንቀላፋ፤ በዳዊት ከተማ በሚገኘው የነገሥታት መካነ መቃብርም ተቀበረ፤ በእርሱም ፈንታ ተተክቶ ልጁ አካዝ ነገሠ፡፡BSBBSB: And Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the City of David his father. And his son Ahaz reigned in his place.
