1. 1ULBሳውል በእስጢፋኖስ ሞት ተስማምቶ ነበር። በዚያም ጊዜ በኢየሩሳሌም በነበረችዋ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ላይ ታላቅ ስደት ተነሣ፤ አማኞችም ሁሉ ከሐዋርያት በቀር በይሁዳና በሰማርያ ተበታተኑ።BSBBSB: And Saul was there, giving approval to Stephen’s death. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
2. 2ULBበመንፈሳዊ ነገር የተጉ ሰዎች እስጢፋኖስን ቀበሩት፤ መሪር ልቅሶም አለቀሱለት።BSBBSB: God-fearing men buried Stephen and mourned deeply over him.
3. 3ULBሳውል ግን ቤተ ክርስቲያንን በጣም ጐዳ፤ ከቤት ወደ ቤት በመሄድም ክርስቲያን ወንዶችንና ሴቶችን ጐትቶ አወጣቸው፤ ወኅኒ ቤት ውስጥም አስገባቸው።BSBBSB: But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off men and women and put them in prison.
4. 4ULBየተበታተኑት አማኞች ግን ቃሉን እየሰበኩ በየቦታው ዞሩ።BSBBSB: Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
5. 5ULBፊልጶስ ወደ ሰማርያ ከተማ ወረደ፣ ለሕዝቡም ክርስቶስን ሰበከላቸው።BSBBSB: Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them.
6. 6ULBእጅግ ብዙ ሰዎች ፊልጶስን ሲሰሙትና ያደረጋቸውንም ምልክቶች ሲያዩ፣ በአንድነት እርሱ ለተናገረው ትኵረት ሰጡ።BSBBSB: The crowds all paid close attention to Philip’s message and to the signs they saw him perform.
7. 7ULBምክንያቱም ከብዙ ሰዎች ርኩሳን መናፍስት እየጮኹ ወጥተው፣ አያሌ ሽባዎችና ዐንካሶችም ተፈውሰው ነበር።BSBBSB: With loud shrieks, unclean spirits came out of many who were possessed, and many of the paralyzed and lame were healed.
8. 8ULBስለዚህ በዚያች ከተማ ውስጥ ብዙ ደስታ ነበር።BSBBSB: So there was great joy in that city.
9. 9ULBነገር ግን በዚያች ከተማ ውስጥ ቀደም ሲል የጥንቈላ ሥራ ይሠራ የነበረ ሲሞን የሚባል ሰው ነበረ፤ ተፈላጊ ሰው እንደ ሆነ እየተናገረ የሰማርያን ሰዎች ያስደንቅ ነበር።BSBBSB: Prior to that time, a man named Simon had practiced sorcery in the city and astounded the people of Samaria. He claimed to be someone great,
10. 10ULBሳምራውያን በሙሉ ከትንሹ እስከ ትልቁ፣ “ይህ ሰው ታላቅ የሚባለው የእግዚአብሔር ኀይል ነው” እያሉ በሚገባ ያደምጡት ነበር።BSBBSB: and all the people, from the least to the greatest, heeded his words and said, “This man is the divine power called the Great Power.”
11. 11ULBበጥንቈላ ሥራው ለረጅም ጊዜ ያስገርማቸው ስለ ነበር አደመጡት።BSBBSB: They paid close attention to him because he had astounded them for a long time with his sorcery.
12. 12ULBስለ እግዚአብሔር መንግሥትና ስለ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ስም ፊልጶስ የሰበከውን ወንጌል ሲያምኑ ግን ወንዶችም ሴቶችም ተጠመቁ።BSBBSB: But when they believed Philip as he preached the gospel of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
13. 13ULBሲሞንም ደግሞ አመነ፤ ከተጠመቀም በኋላ ከፊልጶስ ጋር መሆንን ቀጠለ፤ የተደረጉ ምልክቶችንና ታላላቅ ተኣምራትን ባየ ጊዜም ተደነቀ።BSBBSB: Even Simon himself believed and was baptized. He followed Philip closely and was astounded by the great signs and miracles he observed.
14. 14ULBበኢየሩሳሌም የነበሩ ሐዋርያት ሰማርያ የእግዚአብሔርን ቃል የተቀበለች መሆኗን ሲሰሙ፣ ጴጥሮስንና ዮሐንስን ላኩላቸው።BSBBSB: When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.
15. 15ULBእነርሱም እዚያ ወርደው መንፈስ ቅዱስን እንዲቀበሉ ጸለዩላቸው።BSBBSB: On their arrival, they prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit.
16. 16ULBመንፈስ ቅዱስ እስከዚያ ጊዜ ድረስ በማንኛቸውም ላይ አልወረደም ነበርና፣ እነርሱ በጌታ ኢየሱስ ስም ብቻ ተጠምቀው ነበር።BSBBSB: For the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had simply been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.
17. 17ULBከዚያም ጴጥሮስና ዮሐንስ እጃቸውን ጫኑባቸው፣ መንፈስ ቅዱስንም ተቀበሉ።BSBBSB: Then Peter and John laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
18. 18ULBበሐዋርያት እጅ መጫን መንፈስ ቅዱስ እንደሚሰጥ ሲያይ፣ ሲሞን ገንዘብ አቀረበላቸው።BSBBSB: When Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money.
19. 19ULB“እኔም እጁን የምጭንበት ሰው ሁሉ መንፈስ ቅዱስን መቀበል እንዲችል ይህን ሥልጣን ስጡኝ” አላቸው።BSBBSB: “Give me this power as well,” he said, “so that everyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
20. 20ULBነገር ግን ጴጥሮስ እንዲህ አለው፤ “የእግዚአብሔርን ስጦታ በገንዘብ ለማግኘት አስበሃልና ብርህ ከአንተ ጋር ይጥፋ።BSBBSB: But Peter replied, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!
21. 21ULBልብህ ለእግዚአብሔር የቀና አይደለምና በዚህ ጉዳይ ውስጥ ዕድል ወይም ድርሻ የለህም።BSBBSB: You have no part or share in our ministry, because your heart is not right before God.
22. 22ULBእንግዲህ ለዚህ ክፋትህ ንስሓ ግባ፤ ምናልባትም ለልብህ ዐሳብ ይቅር ይልህ እንደ ሆነ ጌታን ለምን።BSBBSB: Repent, therefore, of your wickedness, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps He will forgive you for the intent of your heart.
23. 23ULBበኀጢአት እስራትና በመራርነት መርዝ ውስጥ እንዳለህ አያለሁና።”BSBBSB: For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity.”
24. 24ULBሲሞንም መልሶ፣ “ከተናገራችኋቸው አንዱም በእኔ ላይ እንዳይፈጸም ወደ ጌታ ጸልዩልኝ” አላቸው።BSBBSB: Then Simon answered, “Pray to the Lord for me, so that nothing you have said may happen to me.”
25. 25ULBጴጥሮስና ዮሐንስ ከመሰከሩና የጌታን ቃል ከተናገሩ በኋላ፣ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ተመለሱ፤ በመንገድም ለብዙ የሰማርያ መንደሮች ወንጌልን ሰበኩ።BSBBSB: And after Peter and John had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many of the Samaritan villages.
26. 26ULBየጌታ መልአክ ፊልጶስን፣ “ከኢየሩሳሌም ወደ ጋዛ በሚወስደው መንገድ ወደ ደቡብ አቅጣጫ ተነሥና ሂድ” አለው። (ይህ መንገድ በበረሓ ውስጥ ነው።)BSBBSB: Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go south to the desert road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”
27. 27ULBእርሱም ተነሣና ሄደ። እነሆ፣ በኢትዮጵያውያን ንግሥት በሕንደኬ ሥር ትልቅ ሥልጣን የነበረው አንድ ኢትዮጵያዊ ጃንደረባ ነበረ። ሰውዬው በንግሥቲቱ ንብረት ሁሉ ላይ ኀላፊነት ነበረው። ሊሰግድ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም መጥቶ ነበር።BSBBSB: So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official in charge of the entire treasury of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians. He had gone to Jerusalem to worship,
28. 28ULBከኢየሩሳሌም በመመለስ ላይ ሳለ፣ በሠረገላው ላይ ተቀምጦ ትንቢተ ኢሳይያስን እያነበበ ነበር።BSBBSB: and on his return was sitting in his chariot reading Isaiah the prophet.
29. 29ULBመንፈስ ፊልጶስን፣ “ሂድ ወደዚህ ሠረገላ ቅረብ” አለው።BSBBSB: The Spirit said to Philip, “Go over to that chariot and stay by it.”
30. 30ULBፊልጶስ ወደ ጃንደረባው ሮጠ፣ ትንቢተ ኢሳይያስንም ሲያነብ ሰማው፤ “የምታነበውን ትረዳዋለህ?” አለው።BSBBSB: So Philip ran up and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.
31. 31ULBኢትዮጵያዊውም፣ “የሚመራኝ ከሌለ እንዴት ልረዳው እችላለሁ?” አለው። ወደ ሠረገላው እንዲወጣና ዐብሮት እንዲቀመጥ ፊልጶስን ለመነው።BSBBSB: “How can I,” he said, “unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
32. 32ULBኢትዮጵያዊው ያነበው የነበረ የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ክፍል ይህ ነው፦ “እንደ በግ ለመታረድ ተነዳ፤ በሸላቾቹ ፊት ዝም እንደሚል ጠቦት፣ አፉን አልከፈተም፤BSBBSB: The eunuch was reading this passage of Scripture: “He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent, so He did not open His mouth.
33. 33ULBበውርደቱ ፍርዱ ተወገደ፤ ትውልዱን ማን ይናገራል? ሕይወቱ ከምድር ተወግዶአልና።”BSBBSB: In His humiliation He was deprived of justice. Who can recount His descendants? For His life was removed from the earth.”
34. 34ULBጃንደረባው ፊልጶስን፣ “እባክህ ነቢዩ ስለ ማን ነው የሚናገረው? ስለ ራሱ ወይስ ስለ ሌላ ነው?” አለው።BSBBSB: “Tell me,” said the eunuch, “who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”
35. 35ULBፊልጶስም መናገር ጀመረ፤ ከዚህም ከኢሳይያስ መጽሐፍ ጀምሮ ስለ ኢየሱስ ሰበከው።BSBBSB: Then Philip began with this very Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
36. 36ULBእየሄዱ ሳሉ ውሃ አለበት ዘንድ ደረሱ፤ ጃንደረባው፣ “ተመልከት፣ እዚህ ውሃ አለ፤ እንዳልጠመቅ ምን ይከለክለኛል?” አለ።BSBBSB: As they traveled along the road and came to some water, the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is there to prevent me from being baptized?”
37. 37ULBፊልጶስም፣ “በፍጹም ልብህ ካመንህ፣ መጠመቅ ትችላለህ” አለ። ኢትዮጵያዊውም መልሶ፣ “ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ እንደ ሆነ አምናለሁ” አለ።BSBBSB: Not in the BSB

38. 38ULBኢትዮጵያዊው ሠረገላው እንዲቆም አዘዘና፣ ፊልጶስም ጃንደረባውም ወደ ውሃው ወረዱ፤ ፊልጶስም አጠመቀው።BSBBSB: And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him.
39. 39ULBከውሃው ውስጥ ሲወጡ፣ የጌታ መንፈስ ፊልጶስን ወሰደው፤ ጃንደረባውም ከዚያ ወዲያ አላየውም፤ ደስ ብሎትም ጕዞውን ቀጠለ።BSBBSB: When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing.
40. 40ULBነገር ግን ፊልጶስ በአዛጦን ታየ። በዚያ አገር ውስጥ በማለፍ ቂሣርያ እስኪደርስ ድረስ፣ ለከተሞች ሁሉ ወንጌልን ሰበከ።BSBBSB: But Philip appeared at Azotus and traveled through that region, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he came to Caesarea.
