1 ULB አስቸጋሪዎቹ ቀናት ሳይመጡ፥ "ደስ አያሰኙኝም" የምትላቸው ዓመታትም ሳይደርሱ፥ BSB BSB: Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of adversity come and the years approach of which you will say, “I find no pleasure in them,”
2 ULB የፀሐይ፥ የጨረቃና የከዋክብት ብርሃን ሳይጨልም፥ የጠቆረው ደመና ከዝናብ ኋላ ሳይመለስ፥ በወጣትነት ዘመንህ ፈጣሪህን አስብ። BSB BSB: before the light of the sun, moon, and stars is darkened, and the clouds return after the rain,
3 ULB ያ ጊዜ የቤተ መንግሥት ጠባቂዎች የሚርበደበዱበት፥ ብርቱዎች የሚጎብጡበት፥ ጥቂቶች በመሆናቸው የሚፈጩት ሥራቸውን የሚያቆሙበት፥ በመስኮት ወደ ውጪ የሚመለከቱ አጥርተው የማያዩበት፥ ይሆናል። BSB BSB: on the day the keepers of the house tremble and the strong men stoop, when those grinding cease because they are few and those watching through windows see dimly,
4 ULB ያ ጊዜ በጎዳናው ላይ በሮች የሚዘጉበትና የወፍጮ ድምጽ የሚቆምበት፥ ከወፍ ድምጽ የተነሣ ሰዎች የሚደነግጡበትና የሚዘምሩ ልጃገረዶች ድምጻቸው ዝግ የሚልበት ይሆናል። BSB BSB: when the doors to the street are shut and the sound of the mill fades away, when one rises at the sound of a bird and all the daughters of song grow faint,
5 ULB ያ ጊዜ ሰዎች ከፍታዎችንና በመንገድ ላይ የሚገጥማቸውን አደጋ በማሰብ የሚፈሩበት፥ የለውዝ ዛፍ ሲያብብ፥ አንበጣዎች ተከታትለው ሲሳቡ፥ ተፈጥሯዊ ፍላጎት የሚጠፋበት ጊዜ ነው። ሰው ወደ ዘላለም ቤቱ ይሄዳል፥ አልቃሾችም በጎዳናዎቹ ላይ ይወርዳሉ። BSB BSB: when men fear the heights and dangers of the road, when the almond tree blossoms, the grasshopper loses its spring, and the caper berry shrivels—for then man goes to his eternal home and mourners walk the streets.
6 ULB የብር ሰንሰለት ሳይበጠስ ወይም ጎድጓዳው የወርቅ ሳሕን ሳይሰበር ወይም እንስራው በምንጩ አጠገብ ብትንትኑ ሳይወጣ ወይም የውሃ ማውጫው ጉድጓዱ ውስጥ ሳይበጠስ፥ BSB BSB: Remember Him before the silver cord is snapped and the golden bowl is crushed, before the pitcher is shattered at the spring and the wheel is broken at the well,
8 ULB አስተማሪው፥ "የሚተን እንፋሎት፥ ሁሉም ነገር የሚጠፋ እንፋሎት ነው" ይላል። BSB BSB: “Futility of futilities,” says the Teacher. “Everything is futile!”
9 ULB አስተማሪው ጠቢብ ነበር፥ ለሕዝቡም እውቀትን አስተማረ። ብዙ ምሳሌዎችን መረመረና አጠና፥ በስርዓትም አስቀመጣቸው። BSB BSB: Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also taught the people knowledge; he pondered, searched out, and arranged many proverbs.
10 ULB አስተማሪው ግልጽና ቅን የእውነት ቃላትን በመጠቀም ለመጻፍ ፈለገ። BSB BSB: The Teacher searched to find delightful sayings and to record accurate words of truth.
11 ULB የጠቢባን ቃል አንደ ከብት መንጃ አርጩሜ ነው። ጠልቀው እንደ ገቡ ሚስማሮች አንድ እረኛ ያስተማራቸውና አስተማሪዎች የሰበሰቧቸው ምሳሌዎችም እንዲሁ ናቸው። BSB BSB: The words of the wise are like goads, and the anthologies of the masters are like firmly embedded nails driven by a single Shepherd.
12 ULB ልጄ ሆይ፥ በይበልጥ አንድ ነገር ተጠንቀቅ፡ ብዙ መጻሕፍት መጻፍ ማለቂያ የለውም። ብዙ ማጥናትም ሰውነትን ያደክማል። BSB BSB: And by these, my son, be further warned: There is no end to the making of many books, and much study wearies the body.
13 ULB ሁሉም ነገር ከተሰማ በኋላ የጉዳዩ መጨረሻ እግዚአብሔርን እንድትፈራውና ትዕዛዙን እንድትጠብቅ ነው፥ ይህ የሰው ሙሉ ተግባሩ ነውና። BSB BSB: When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man.
14 ULB መልካምም ይሁን ክፉ፥ የተደረገውን ሁሉ፥ ከተሰወረው ነገር ሁሉ ጋር፥ እግዚአብሔር ወደ ፍርድ ያመጣዋልና። BSB BSB: For God will bring every deed into judgment, along with every hidden thing, whether good or evil.
