1 ULB ከዚህ በኋላ የያህዌ ቃል እንዲህ ሲል ወደ አብራም መጣ፤ “አብራም ሆይ፣ አትፍራ፤ እኔ ለአንተ ጋሻህ ነኝ፤ ታላቅ ሽልማትህም እኔው ነን።” BSB BSB: After these events, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”
3 ULB በመቀጠልም አብራም “አንተ ልጅ እስካልሰጠኸኝ ድረስ፣ ከቤቴ አገልጋይ አንዱ ወራሼ መሆኑ አይቀርም” አለ። BSB BSB: Abram continued, “Behold, You have given me no offspring, so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
4 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ የያህዌ ቃል እንዲህ ሲል ወደ እርሱ መጣ፤ “ይህ ሰው ወራሽህ አይሆንም፤ ይልቁንም ወራሽህ የሚሆነው ከአብራክህ የሚከፈል የራስህ ልጅ ይሆናል።” BSB BSB: Then the word of the LORD came to Abram, saying, “This one will not be your heir, but one who comes from your own body will be your heir.”
5 ULB ከዚያም ወደ ውጭ አወጣውና እንዲህ አለው፤ “ቀና ብለህ ወደ ሰማይ ተመልከት፤ መቍጠር ከቻልህ ከዋክብቱን ቍጠር። ዘርህም እንዲሁ ይበዛል።” BSB BSB: And the LORD took him outside and said, “Now look to the heavens and count the stars, if you are able.” Then He told him, “So shall your offspring be.”
6 ULB አብራም ያህዌን አመነ፤ እርሱም ጽድቅ አድርጎ ቆጠረለት። BSB BSB: Abram believed the LORD, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
7 ULB እንዲህም አለው፤ “ይህችን ምድር እንድትወርስ ልሰጥህ ከከለዳውያን ምድር ከዑር ያወጣሁህ እኔ ያህዌ ነኝ።” BSB BSB: The LORD also told him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to possess.”
8 ULB አብራምም፣ “ጌታ ያህዌ ሆይ፣ ይህችን ምድር እንደምወርስ እንዴት አውቃለሁ?” አለ። BSB BSB: But Abram replied, “Lord GOD, how can I know that I will possess it?”
9 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ፣ “እያንዳንዳቸው ሦስት ዓመት የሆናቸው አንዲት ጊደር፣ አንዲት ፍየልና አንድ በግ እንዲሁም ዋኖስና አንድ ርግብ አቅርብልኝ” አለው። BSB BSB: And the LORD said to him, “Bring Me a heifer, a goat, and a ram, each three years old, along with a turtledove and a young pigeon.”
10 ULB እርሱም እነዚህን ሁሉ አቀረበለት፤ ቆርጦም ሁለት ቦታ ከከፈላቸው በኋላ እያንዳንዱን ክፍል በሌላው ወገን ትይዩ አስቀመጣቸው፤ ወፎቹን ግን አልከፈላቸውም። BSB BSB: So Abram brought all these to Him, split each of them down the middle, and laid the halves opposite each other. The birds, however, he did not cut in half.
11 ULB አሞሮች ሥጋውን ለመብላት ወረዱ፤ አብራምም አባረራቸው። BSB BSB: And the birds of prey descended on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.
12 ULB ፀሓይ ልትጠልቅ ስትል አብራም ከባድ እንቅልፍ ወሰደው፤ የሚያስፈራም ድቅድቅ ጨለማም መጣበት። BSB BSB: As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and suddenly great terror and darkness overwhelmed him.
13 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ ያህዌ አብራምን እንዲህ አለው፤ “ዘሮችህ የራሳቸው ባልሆነ ምድር ባዕድ እንደሚሆኑና እዚያ ለአራቶ መቶ ዓመት በባርነት እንደሚኖሩ በእርግጥ ዕወቅ። BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Abram, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years.
14 ULB እኔም ባሪያዎች ባደረጓቸው ሕዝብ እፈርዳለሁ፤ በኋላም ብዙ ሀብት ይዘው ይወጣሉ። BSB BSB: But I will judge the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will depart with many possessions.
15 ULB አንተ ግን በሰላም ወደ አባቶችህ ትሄዳለህ፤ ዕድሜም ጠግበህ ትቀበራለህ። BSB BSB: You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a ripe old age.
17 ULB ፀሓይ ገብታ ከጨለመ በኋላ የምድጃ ጢስና የሚንበለበል ፋና በተቆራረጡት ሥጋዎች መካከል አለፈ። BSB BSB: When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, behold, a smoking firepot and a flaming torch appeared and passed between the halves of the carcasses.
18 ULB በዚያን ቀን ያህዌ እንዲህ በማለት ከአብራም ጋር ኪዳን አደረገ፤ “ከግብፅ ወንዝ ጀምሮ እስከ ታላቁ ወንዝ ኤፍራጥስ ድረስ ያለውን ምድር ለዘርህ እሰጣለሁ፤ BSB BSB: On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land—from the river of Egypt to the great River Euphrates—
19 ULB የምሰጣቸውም የቄናውያንን፣ የቄንፌዛውያንን፣ የቃድሞናውያንን፣ BSB BSB: the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites,
20 ULB የኬጢያውያንን፣ የፌርዛውያንን፣ የራፋይምን፣ BSB BSB: Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites,
21 ULB የአሞራውያንን፣ የከነዓናውያን፣ የጌርሳውያንንና የኢያቡሳውያን ምድር ነው።” BSB BSB: Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites, and Jebusites.”
