1 ULB አብራም የዘጠና ዘጠኝ ዓመት ሰው እያለ ያህዌ ተገለጠለትና እንዲህ አለው፤ "እኔ ሁሉን ቻይ አምላክ ነኝ፤ በፊቴ ተመላለስ ነቀፋም አይኑርብህ። BSB BSB: When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty. Walk before Me and be blameless.
2 ULB በእኔና በአንተ መካከል የተደረገውን ኪዳን አጸናለሁ፤ አንተንም እጅግ አበዛሃለሁ።" BSB BSB: I will establish My covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”
3 ULB አብራም በግንባሩ መሬት ላይ ተደፋ፤ እግዚአበሔርም እንዲ አለው፤ BSB BSB: Then Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,
4 ULB "እነሆ ኪዳኔ ክአንተ ጋር ነው። የብዙ ሕዝብ አባት አደርግሃለሁ። BSB BSB: “As for Me, this is My covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
5 ULB ከእንግዲህ ስምህ አብራም መባል የለበትም፤ ስምህ አብርሃም መባል እለበት፤ ምክንያቱም የብዙ ሕዝብ አባት አድርጌሃለሁ። BSB BSB: No longer will you be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.
6 ULB እጅግ አበዛሃለሁ፣ ሕዝቦች ክአንተ ይገኛሉ፤ ነገሥታትም ክአንተ ይወጣሉ። BSB BSB: I will make you exceedingly fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will descend from you.
7 ULB በእኔና በአንተ፣ ክአንተም በኋላ ከዘርህ ጋር ኪዳኔን እመሠርታለሁ፤ ለአንተ ከአንተም በኋላ ለዘርህ በዘላለም ኪዳን አምላክ እሆናችኋለሁ። BSB BSB: I will establish My covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
8 ULB ለአንተና ከአንተም በኋላ ለዘርህ ይህች አሁን የምትኖርባትን የከነዓንን ምድር በሙሉ ለዘላለም ርስት አድርጌ እሰጣላለሁ፤ አምላካቸውም እሆናለሁ።" BSB BSB: And to you and your descendants I will give the land where you are residing—all the land of Canaan—as an eternal possession; and I will be their God.”
9 ULB ከዚያም እግዚአብሔር አብርሃምን፣ "በአንተም በኩል፣ አንተና ከአንተ በኋላ የሚመጣው ዘርህ ከትውልድ እስከ ትውልድ ኪዳኔን መጠበቅ አለባችሁ። BSB BSB: God also said to Abraham, “You must keep My covenant—you and your descendants in the generations after you.
11 ULB እናንተ ሸለፈታችሁን ትገረዛላችሁ፤ ይህም በእናንተ መካከል ያለው ኪዳን ምልክት ይሆናል። BSB BSB: You are to circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and this will be a sign of the covenant between Me and you.
12 ULB በመካከላችሁ ያለው ማንኛውም ስምንት ዓመት የሞላው ወንድ የሚመጣው ትውልድ ሁሉ ይገረዝ። ይህ በቤትህ የተወለደውን በገንዘብህ የተገዛውን ሁሉ ይጨምራል። BSB BSB: Generation after generation, every male must be circumcised when he is eight days old, including those born in your household and those purchased from a foreigner—even those who are not your offspring.
13 ULB ቤትህ ውስጥ የተወለደና በገንዘብህ የገዛኸው መገረዝ አለባቸው። ስለሆነም ኪዳኔ በዘላለም ኪዳን ሥጋችሁ ላይ ይሆናል። BSB BSB: Whether they are born in your household or purchased, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh will be an everlasting covenant.
14 ULB ሸለፈቱን ያልተገረዘ ማንኛውም ወንድ ኪዳኔን አፍርሷልና ከወገኖቹ ይወገድ።" BSB BSB: But if any male is not circumcised, he will be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”
15 ULB እግዚአብሔር አብርሃምን እንዲህ አለው፤ "ሚስትህ ሦራን ክአንግዲህ ሥራ እንጂ ሦራ ብለህ አትጥራት። BSB BSB: Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, do not call her Sarai, for her name is to be Sarah.
16 ULB እባርክሃለሁ፤ ከእርሷ ወንድ ልጅ እሰጥሃለሁ። እባርካታለሁ። እርሷም የብዙ ሕዝብ እናት ትሆናልች፤ የሕዝቦችም ነገሥታት ክአርሷ ይወጣሉ። BSB BSB: And I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will descend from her.”
17 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ አብርሃም በግንባሩ መሬት ላይ ተደፍቶ እየሳቀ በሉ እንዲህ አለ፤ "ለመሆኑ የመቶ ዓመት ሽማግሌ ልጅ መውልደድ ይችላል? የዘጠና ዓመቷ አሮጊት ሥራስ ብትሆን ልጅ መውለድ ይሆንላታል?" BSB BSB: Abraham fell facedown. Then he laughed and said to himself, “Can a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Can Sarah give birth at the age of ninety?”
19 ULB እግዚአብሔርም፣ "እንደዚያ አይደለም፤ ሚስትህ ሥራ ወንድ ልጅ ትወልድልሃለች፤ ስሙንም ይስሐቅ ብለህ ትጠራዋለህ። የዘላለም ኪዳኔን ከእርሱ ጋር፣ ከእርሱም በኋላ ከዘሩ ጋር እመጸርታለሁ። BSB BSB: But God replied, “Your wife Sarah will indeed bear you a son, and you are to name him Isaac. I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
21 ULB ኪዳኔን ግን፣ የዛሬ ዓመት በዚህ ጊዜ ሣራ ከምትወልድህል ከይስሐቅ ጋር እመሠርታለሁ።" BSB BSB: But I will establish My covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this time next year.”
22 ULB ከእርሱ ጋር መነጋገሩን ከጨረሰ በኋላ እግዚአብሔር ወደ ላይ ወጣ። BSB BSB: When He had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.
23 ULB በዚያኑ ዕለት አብርሃም ልጁ ይስሐቅን፣ በቤቱ ውስጥ የተወለዱትን በሙሉ፣ በገንዘቡ የገዛቸውን ሁሉ፣ ቤቱ ውስጥ ያለ ማንኛውንም ወንድ ሁሉ እግዚአብሔር በነገረው መሠረት ገረዛቸው። BSB BSB: On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or purchased with his money—every male among the members of Abraham’s household—and he circumcised them, just as God had told him.
24 ULB አብርሃም በተገረዘ ጊዜ እድሜው ዘጠና ዘጠኝ ዓመት ነበር። BSB BSB: So Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,
25 ULB ልጁም እስማኤል በተገረዘ ጊዜ እድሜው አሥራ ሦስት ነበር። BSB BSB: and his son Ishmael was thirteen;
26 ULB በዚያው ቀን አብርሃምና ልጁ እስማኤልም ተገረዙ። BSB BSB: Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised on the same day.
27 ULB ቤቱ ውስጥ የተወለዱትን፣ ከውጭ በገንዘብ የተገዙትን ጨምሮ ቤቱ ውስጥ የነበሩ ወንዶች ሁሉ ከእርሱ ጋር ተገረዙ። BSB BSB: And all the men of Abraham’s household—both servants born in his household and those purchased from foreigners—were circumcised with him.
