1. 1ULBለአብርሃም በሰጠው የተስፋ ቃል መሰረት እግዚአብሔር ሳራን አሰባት፤ እንደገባላት የተስፋ ቃልም አደረገ፤BSBBSB: Now the LORD attended to Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah what He had promised.
2. 2ULBስለዚህም ሳራ አርግዛ በእርጅናው ጊዜ ለአብርሃም ወንድ ልጅ ወለደችለት፤ ልጁም የተወለደው «በዚህ ጊዜ ይወለዳል» ብሎ እግዚአብሔር በተናገረበት ጊዜ ነው።BSBBSB: So Sarah conceived and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised.
3. 3ULBአብርሃም ሚስቱ ሳራ የወለደችለትን ልጅ «ይስሐቅ» ብሎ ስም አወጣለት።BSBBSB: And Abraham gave the name Isaac to the son Sarah bore to him.
4. 4ULBይስሐቅ ከተወለደ ከስምንት ቀን በኋላ እግዚአብሔር ባዘዘው መሰረት አብርሃም ገረዘው።BSBBSB: When his son Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded him.
5. 5ULBልጁ ይስሐቅ በተወለደለት ጊዜ አብርሃም መቶ ዓመት ሆኖት ነበር።BSBBSB: Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him.
6. 6ULBሳራም «እግዚአብሔር ሳቅ አደረገልኝ ስለዚህ ይህንን ነገር የሚሰማ ሁሉ ከእኔ ጋር ይስቃል»አለች።BSBBSB: Then Sarah said, “God has made me laugh, and everyone who hears of this will laugh with me.”
7. 7ULBቀጥላም «ሳራ ለአብርሃም ልጆችን ወልዳ ታጠባለች» ብሎ የሚናገር ከቶ ማን ነበር አሁን ግን እነሆ በእርጅናው ዘመን ወንድ ልጅ ወለድሁለት» አለች።BSBBSB: She added, “Who would have told Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.”
8. 8ULBልጇም አድጎ ጡት መጥባት ተወ፤ ጡት ባስጣሉበትም ቀን አብርሃም ታላቅ ግብዣ አደረገ።BSBBSB: So the child grew and was weaned, and Abraham held a great feast on the day Isaac was weaned.
9. 9ULBግብጻዊትዋ አጋር ለአብርሃም የወለደችለት እስማኤል ከዕለታት አንድ ቀን በሳራ ልጅ በይስሐቅ ላይ ሲያሾፍበት ሳራ አየች።BSBBSB: But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking her son,
10. 10ULBስለዚህ ሳራ አብርሃምን«ይህችን አገልጋይ ከነ ልጅዋ ወዲያ አባርልኝ የዚህች አገልጋይ ልጅ ከልጄ ከይስሐቅ ጋር አብሮ መውረስ አይገባውም» አለችው።BSBBSB: and she said to Abraham, “Expel the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac!”
11. 11ULBእስማኤልም ልጁ ስለሆነ ይህ ጉዳይ አብርሃምን በብርቱ አስጨነቀውBSBBSB: Now this matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son Ishmael.
12. 12ULBእግዚአብሔር ግን አብርሃምን «ስለ ልጁና ስለ አገልጋይቱ ስለ አጋር አትጨነቅ። ዘር የሚወጣልህ በይስሃቅ በኩል ስለሆን እርሳ የምትልህን ሁሉ አድርግ።BSBBSB: But God said to Abraham, “Do not be distressed about the boy and your maidservant. Listen to everything that Sarah tells you, for through Isaac your offspring will be reckoned.
13. 13ULBየአገልጋይቱም ልጅ የአንተ ዘርያ ስልሆን ታላቅ ሕዝብ አደርገዋለሁ» አለውBSBBSB: But I will also make a nation of the slave woman’s son, because he is your offspring.”
14. 14ULBአብርሃም በማለዳ ተነሳ ጥቂት ምግብ ውሃም በአቁማዳ ለአጋር በትከሻዋ አደረገላት። ልጁንም በጀርባዋ አሳዝሎ ከቤት አስወጣት፤ እርስዋም በቤርሳቤህ በረሃ ትንከራተት ጀመር።BSBBSB: Early in the morning, Abraham got up, took bread and a skin of water, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her away with the boy. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beersheba.
15. 15ULBበአቁማዳ የነበረው ውሃ ባለቀ ጊዜ ልጁን በቁጥቋጦ ስር አስቀምችጠችው።BSBBSB: When the water in the skin was gone, she left the boy under one of the bushes.
16. 16ULBእርስዋም «ልጄ ሲሞት ማየት አልፈልግም» በማለት ጥቂት ከልጅዋ ርቃ ተቀመጠች፤ እዚያም ሆና ድምጻን ከፍ አድርጋ ታለቅስ ጀመር።BSBBSB: Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a bowshot away, for she said, “I cannot bear to watch the boy die!” And as she sat nearby, she lifted up her voice and wept.
17. 17ULBእግዚአብሔሬም ልሉ ምርር ብሎ ሲያለቅስ ሰማ የእግዚአብሔርም መልአክ ከሰማይ አጋርን «አጋር ሆይ የምትጨነቂበት ነገር ምንድር ነው? እግዚአብሔር የልጂን ለቅሶ ሰምቶአልና አትፍሪ።BSBBSB: Then God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, “What is wrong, Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he lies.
18. 18ULBተነሺ ሂንና ልጁን አንስተስ አባብይው፤ የእርሱንም ዘር አበዛለሁ ታላቅ ሕዝብም አደርገዋለሁ።BSBBSB: Get up, lift up the boy, and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.”
19. 19ULBበዚህም ጊዜ እግዚአብሔር ዓይኖችዋን ከፈተላትና አንድ የውኃ ጉድጋድ አየች፤ ሄዳም በአቁማዳ ውሃ ሞላች ለልጅዋም አጠጣችው።BSBBSB: Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.
20. 20ULBልጁ እያደገ በሚሄድበት ጊዜ ሁሉ እግዚአብሔር ከእርሱ ጋር ነበር።BSBBSB: And God was with the boy, and he grew up and settled in the wilderness and became a great archer.
21. 21ULBበፋራንም በረሓ ኖረ፤ ቀስት በመወርወርም የታወቀ አዳኝ ሆነ። እናቱም ከአንዲት ግብጻዊት ጋር አጋባችው።BSBBSB: And while he was dwelling in the Wilderness of Paran, his mother got a wife for him from the land of Egypt.
22. 22ULBበዚያን ጊዜ አቤሜሌክ ከሰራዊቱ አለቃ ከፊኮል ጋር ሄደና አብርሃምን «በምታደርገው ሁሉ እግዚአብሔር ከአንተ ጋር ነው፤BSBBSB: At that time Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army said to Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do.
23. 23ULBእኔንም ሆነ ልጆቼን ወይም ዝርያዎቼን እንዳትዋሸኝ አሁን በእግዚአብሔር ስም ማልልኝ። እኔ ለአንተ ታማኝነትን አሳይቻለሁ፤ አንተም ለእኔና ለዚህች ለምትኖርባትአገር ታማኝንትን እንደምታሳይ ማልልኝ» አለው።BSBBSB: Now, therefore, swear to me here before God that you will not deal falsely with me or my children or descendants. Show to me and to the country in which you reside the same kindness that I have shown to you.”
24. 24ULBአብርሃምም «እሺ እምላለሁ» አለ።BSBBSB: And Abraham replied, “I swear it.”
25. 25ULBአብርሃም የአቢሜሌክ አገልጋዮች ስለ ወሰዱበት የውሃ ጉድጋድ ለአቤሜሌክ አቤቱታ አቀረበ፤BSBBSB: But when Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well that Abimelech’s servants had seized,
26. 26ULBአቤሜሌክም «ይህን ያደረገ ማን እንደሆን አላውቅም። አንተም አልነገርኸኝም ይህንን ነገር ገና ዛሬ መስማቴ ነው» አለው።BSBBSB: Abimelech replied, “I do not know who has done this. You did not tell me, so I have not heard about it until today.”
27. 27ULBከዚህ በኋላ አብርሃም ብዙ በጎችና ከብቶች አምጥቶ ለአቢሜሌክ ሰጠው፤ በዚያን ቀን ሁለቱም የስምምነት መሀላ አደረጉ።BSBBSB: So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelech, and the two men made a covenant.
28. 28ULBበዚያን ጊዜ አብርሃም ሰባት እንስት የበግ ጠቦቶችን ከመንጋው ለየ፤BSBBSB: Abraham separated seven ewe lambs from the flock,
29. 29ULBአቤሜሌክም «እንዚህን ሰባት ጠቦቶች ለይተህ ያቆምሃቸው ለምንድር ነው?» አለው።BSBBSB: and Abimelech asked him, “Why have you set apart these seven ewe lambs?”
30. 30ULBአብርሃምም «እነዚህን ሰባት እንስት ጠቦቶች ተቀበለኝ እነርሱን ከተቀበልከኝ ይህን ጉድጋድ የቆፈርሁ እኔ መሆኔን ምስክር እንዲሆን ነው» አለው፤BSBBSB: He replied, “You are to accept the seven ewe lambs from my hand as my witness that I dug this well.”
31. 31ULBሁለቱ ተማምለው የተስማሙበት ስፍራ በመሆኑ የዚያ ቦታ ስም ቤርሳቤህ ተባል፤BSBBSB: So that place was called Beersheba, because it was there that the two of them swore an oath.
32. 32ULBይህን ስምምንት በቤርሳቤህ ተስማምተው ካደረጉ በኋላ አቤሜሌክና የሰራዊቱ አለቃ ፊኮል ወደ ፍልስጥኤም ምድር ተመለሱBSBBSB: After they had made the covenant at Beersheba, Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army got up and returned to the land of the Philistines.
33. 33ULBከዚህ ብኃላ አብርሃም በቤርሳቤህ የታማሪስክ ዛፍ ተከልና የዘላለም አምላክ ለሆነው ሰገደ፤BSBBSB: And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called upon the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
34. 34ULBአብርሃም በፍልስጥኤም ምድር በእንግድነት ለረዥም ጊዜ ኖረ።BSBBSB: And Abraham resided in the land of the Philistines for a long time.
