1. 1ULBከዚህ በኋላ ዮሴፍ ለቤቱ አዛዥ እንዲህ ሲል መመሪያ ሰጠው፤ የሰዎቹ ስልቻ የሚይዘውን ያህል እህል በየስልቻቸው ሙላላቸው፤ የእያንዳንዱንም ገንዘብ በየስልቻው አፍ አስቀምጠው።BSBBSB: Then Joseph instructed his steward: “Fill the men’s sacks with as much food as they can carry, and put each one’s silver in the mouth of his sack.
2. 2ULBከዚያም የብር ዋንጫዬን በታናሹ ወንድማቸው ስልቻ አፍ ከእህሉ ዋጋ ጋር ጨምረው።” አዛዡም ዮሴፍ እንዳለው አደረገ።BSBBSB: Put my cup, the silver one, in the mouth of the youngest one’s sack, along with the silver for his grain.” So the steward did as Joseph had instructed.
3. 3ULBጠዋት በማለዳ ወንድማማቾቹ አህዮቻቸውን ይዘው እንዲሄዱ ተደረገ።BSBBSB: At daybreak, the men were sent on their way with their donkeys.
4. 4ULBከከተማውም ምንም ያህል ርቀው ሳይሄዱ፣ ዮሴፍ የቤቱን አዛዥ እንዲህ አለው፤ “እነዚያን ሰዎች ቶሎ ድረስባቸውና፣ ‘በመልካም ፋንታ ክፉ የመለሳችሁት ስለ ምንድን ነው?BSBBSB: They had not gone far from the city when Joseph told his steward, “Pursue the men at once, and when you overtake them, ask, ‘Why have you repaid good with evil?
5. 5ULBየጌታዬን የብር ዋንጫ የሰረቃችሁት ለምንድነው? ዋንጫው ጌታዬ የሚጠጣበትና ሁሉን ነገር መርምሮ የሚያውቅበት እንደሆነ አታውቁምን? ይህ ያደረሳችሁት በደል እጅግ ከባድ ነው’ ብለህ ነገራቸው።”BSBBSB: Is this not the cup my master drinks from and uses for divination? What you have done is wicked!’”
6. 6ULBየቤቱ አዛዥም እንደደረሰባቸው፣ ልክ እንደተባለው ተናገራቸው።BSBBSB: When the steward overtook them, he relayed these words to them.
7. 7ULBእነርሱ ግን እንዲህ አሉት፤ “ጌታችን እንዲህ ያለ ነገር ለምን ይናገራል? እኛ አገልጋዮችህ እንዲህ ያለውን ነገር አናደርገውም።BSBBSB: “Why does my lord say these things?” they asked. “Your servants could not possibly do such a thing.
8. 8ULBከዚህ ቀደምም በየስልቾቻችን አፍ የተገኘውን ብር ከከነዓን እንኳ መልሰን አምጥተናል፤ ታዲያ አሁን ብር ወይም ወርቅ ከጌታህ ቤት እንዴት እንሰርቃለን?BSBBSB: We even brought back to you from the land of Canaan the silver we found in the mouths of our sacks. Why would we steal silver or gold from your master’s house?
9. 9ULBየጠፋው ዕቃ ከአገልጋዮችህ የተገኘበት ይሙት፤ የቀረነው የጌታችን ባሮች እንሁን።”BSBBSB: If any of your servants is found to have it, he must die, and the rest will become slaves of my lord.”
10. 10ULBአዛዡም መልካም ነው፤ እንዳላችሁት ይሁን፤ ጽዋው የተገኘበት ሰው ባሪያዬ ይሆናል፤ የቀራችሁት ግን ከበደል ነጻ ትሆናላችሁ” አላቸው።BSBBSB: “As you say,” replied the steward. “But only the one who is found with the cup will be my slave, and the rest of you shall be free of blame.”
11. 11ULBስለዚህ በፍጥነት ስልቻዎቻቸውን አወረዱ፤ እያንዳንዱም የራሱን ስልቻ ከፈተ።BSBBSB: So each one quickly lowered his sack to the ground and opened it.
12. 12ULBከዚያም አዛዡ ፍተሻውን ከታላቁ ጀምሮ እስከ ታናሹ ድረስ ቀጠለ። በመጨረሻም ጽዋው በብንያም ስልቻ ውስጥ ተገኘ።BSBBSB: The steward searched, beginning with the oldest and ending with the youngest—and the cup was found in Benjamin’s sack.
13. 13ULBበዚህ ጊዜ ልብሶቻቸውን በሐዘን ቀደዱ፤ ሁሉም ስልቾቻቸውን በየአህዮቻቸው ጭነው ወደ ከተማይቱ ተመለሱ።BSBBSB: Then they all tore their clothes, loaded their donkeys, and returned to the city.
14. 14ULBይሁዳና ወንድሞቹ ወደ ዮሴፍ ቤት ሲገቡ፣ ዮሴፍ ገና ከቤቱ አልወጣም ነበር። እነርሱም በፊቱ ተደፍተው ሰገዱ።BSBBSB: When Judah and his brothers arrived at Joseph’s house, he was still there, and they fell to the ground before him.
15. 15ULBዮሴፍም፣ “ለምን እንዲህ ያለ ነገር አደረጋችሁ? እንደ እኔ ያለ ሰው ስውር ነገርን የሚያውቅበት ልዩ ጥበብ እንዳለው አታውቁምን?” ሲል ጠየቃቸው።BSBBSB: “What is this deed you have done?” Joseph declared. “Do you not know that a man like me can surely divine the truth?”
16. 16ULBይሁዳም፣ “ከእንግዲህ ለጌታችን ምን ማለት እንችላለን? ምንስ እንመልሳለን? እንዲህ ካለው በደል ንጹሕ መሆናችንን ማስረዳትስ እንዴት ይቻለናል? ምክንያቱም እግዚአብሔር የሠራነውን በደል ገልጦታል፤ እንግዲህ ዋንጫው የተገኘበት ሰው ብቻ ሳይሆን ሁላችንም ባሪያዎችህ እንሁን” አለ።BSBBSB: “What can we say to my lord?” Judah replied. “How can we plead? How can we justify ourselves? God has exposed the iniquity of your servants. We are now my lord’s slaves—both we and the one who was found with the cup.”
17. 17ULBዮሴፍም፣ “ይህንስ አላደርገውም፣ ዋንጫው የተገኘበት ሰው ብቻ የእኔ ባሪያ መሆን አለበት፤ ሌሎቻችሁ በሰላም ወደ አባታችሁ መመለስ ትችላላችሁ” አለ።BSBBSB: But Joseph replied, “Far be it from me to do this. The man who was found with the cup will be my slave. The rest of you may return to your father in peace.”
18. 18ULBይሁዳም ወደ ዮሴፍ ቀረብ ብሎ፣ “ጌታዬ ሆይ፣ እኔ አገልጋይህ አንዲት ቃል ብቻ ልናገር፣ ምንም እንኳ የፈርዖን ያህል የተከበርክ ብትሆንም እባክህ አትቆጣኝ።BSBBSB: Then Judah approached Joseph and said, “Sir, please let your servant speak personally to my lord. Do not be angry with your servant, for you are equal to Pharaoh himself.
19. 19ULBጌታዬ፣ ‘አባት ወይም ወንድም አላችሁ?’ ብሎ አገልጋዮቹን ጠይቆ ነበር።BSBBSB: My lord asked his servants, ‘Do you have a father or a brother?’
20. 20ULBእኛም፣ ‘አዎን ሽማግሌ አባት አለን፤ አባታችንም በስተርጅና የወለደው ትንሽ ልጅ አለው፣ ወንድምዬው ሞቶአል፣ ከአንድ እናት ከተወለዱት ልጆች መካከል የተረፈው እርሱ ብቻ ነው፤ አባቱም በጣም ይወደዋል’ ብለንህ ነበር።BSBBSB: And we answered, ‘We have an elderly father and a younger brother, the child of his old age. The boy’s brother is dead. He is the only one of his mother’s sons left, and his father loves him.’
21. 21ULBከዚያም አንተ አገልጋዮችህን፣ ‘እንዳየው ወደ እኔ አምጡት’ አልኸን።BSBBSB: Then you told your servants, ‘Bring him down to me so that I can see him for myself.’
22. 22ULBእኛም ለጌታዬ፣ ‘ልጁ ከአባቱ ሊለይ አይችልም፤ ከተለየው ደግሞ አባትዬው ይሞታል’ አልንህ።BSBBSB: So we said to my lord, ‘The boy cannot leave his father. If he were to leave, his father would die.’
23. 23ULBአንተ ግን እኛን አገልጋዮችህን፣ ‘ታናሽ ወንድማችሁ አብሮአችሁ ወደዚህ ካልመጣ ዳግመኛ ፊቴን ዐታዩም’ አልኸን።BSBBSB: But you said to your servants, ‘Unless your younger brother comes down with you, you will not see my face again.’
24. 24ULBእኛም ወደ አገልጋይህ ወደ አባቴ በተመለስን ጊዜ አንተ ጌታዬ ያልኸንን ነገርነው።BSBBSB: Now when we returned to your servant my father, we relayed your words to him.
25. 25ULBከዚያም አባታችን፣ ‘እስቲ ተመልሳችሁ ጥቂት እህል ሸምቱልን’ ሲለንBSBBSB: Then our father said, ‘Go back and buy us some food.’
26. 26ULB‘መሄድ አንችልም፤ መሄድ የምንችለው ታናሽ ወንድማችን አብሮን ሲሄድ ብቻ ነው። ታናሽ ወንድማችንን ይዘን ካልሄድን በስተቀር የሰውዬውን ፊት ማየት አንችልም’ አልነው።BSBBSB: But we answered, ‘We cannot go down there unless our younger brother goes with us. So if our younger brother is not with us, we cannot see the man.’
27. 27ULBአገልጋይህ አባቴም እንዲህ አለን፤ ‘ሚስቴ ሁለት ወንዶች ልጆች እንደወለደችልኝ ታውቃላችሁ፤BSBBSB: And your servant my father said to us, ‘You know that my wife bore me two sons.
28. 28ULBአንዱ በወጣበት በመቅረቱ በእርግጥ አውሬ በልቶት ይሆናል አልሁ፣ ከዚያ በኋላ ዐላየሁትም።BSBBSB: When one of them was gone, I said: “Surely he has been torn to pieces.” And I have not seen him since.
29. 29ULBአሁን ደግሞ ይህን ልጅ ወስዳችሁ አንዳች ጉዳት ቢደርስበት ሽበቴን በመራር ሐዘን ወደ መቃብር ታወርዱታላችሁ።’BSBBSB: Now if you also take this one from me and harm comes to him, you will bring my gray hair down to Sheol in sorrow.’
30. 30ULBእንግዲህ አሁን ልጁን ሳንይዝ ወደ አገልጋይህ ወደ አባቴ ብመለስ ሕይወቱ ከልጁ ሕይወት ጋር በጥብቅ የተሳሰረ ስለሆነ፣BSBBSB: So if the boy is not with us when I return to your servant, and if my father, whose life is wrapped up in the boy’s life,
31. 31ULBየልጁን ከእኛ ጋር አለመኖር ሲያይ አባቴ ይሞታል። ከዚህም የተነሣ እኛ አገልጋዮችህ የአባታችንን ሽበት በመሪር ሐዘን ወደ መቃብር እናወርደዋለን።BSBBSB: sees that the boy is not with us, he will die. Then your servants will have brought the gray hair of your servant our father down to Sheol in sorrow.
32. 32ULBእኔ አገልጋይህ፣ “ልጅህን መልሼ ሳላመጣ ብቀር ለዘላለም በደለኛ አድርገህ ቁጠረኝ’ በማለት ስለ ልጁ ደህንነት በአባቴ ፊት ራሴን ዋስ አድርጌአለሁ።BSBBSB: Indeed, your servant guaranteed the boy’s safety to my father, saying, ‘If I do not return him to you, I will bear the guilt before you, my father, all my life.’
33. 33ULBስለዚህ አሁን፣ አገልጋይህ በልጁ ፋንታ የአንተ የጌታዬ ባሪያ ሆኜ እዚሁ ልቅር ልጁ ግን ከወንድሞቹ ጋር ይመለስ።BSBBSB: Now please let your servant stay here as my lord’s slave in place of the boy. Let him return with his brothers.
34. 34ULBልጁን ሳልይዝ እንዴት ተመልሼ ወደ አባቴ እሄዳለሁ? እባክህ በአባቴ ላይ የሚደርሰውን መከራ እንዳይ አታድርገኝ።”BSBBSB: For how can I go back to my father without the boy? I could not bear to see the misery that would overwhelm him.”
