1 ULB በባሕር አጠገብ ስላለው ስለ ምድረ በዳ የተነገረ ዐዋጅ። ዐውሎ ነፋስ ከኔጌቭ እንደሚወጣ፣ እንዲሁ ከሚያስፈራ አገር በምድረ በዳ አልፎ ይወጣል። BSB BSB: This is the burden against the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the Negev, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.

3 ULB ስለዚህ ወገቤ በሕመም ተሞላ፤ እንደምትወልድ ሴት ምጥ ያዘኝ፤ ከሰማሁት የተነሣ ጎበጥኩ፤ ካየሁት ነገር የተነሣ ተረበሽኩ። BSB BSB: Therefore my body is filled with anguish. Pain grips me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am bewildered to hear, I am dismayed to see.
4 ULB ልቤ ተርበደበደ፣ መንቀጥቀጥ አስፈራኝ፤ የተመኘሁት ሌሊት የሚያንቀጠቅጠኝ ሆነብኝ። BSB BSB: My heart falters; fear makes me tremble. The twilight I desired has turned to horror.
5 ULB ማዕዱን ያዘጋጃሉ፣ ምንጣፉንም ይዘረጋሉ፣ ይበሉማል፣ ይጠጡማል፤ እናንተ ልዑላን ሆይ፣ ተነሡ፣ ጋሻውን በዘይት ቀቡ። BSB BSB: They prepare a table, they lay out a carpet, they eat, they drink! Rise up, O princes, oil the shields!
6 ULB ጌታ ያለኝ እንዲህ ነው፣ "ሂድ፣ ጉበኛም አቁም፣ የሚያየውንም ይናገር። BSB BSB: For this is what the Lord says to me: “Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.
7 ULB በከብት የሚቀመጡትን፣ ሁለት ሁለት እየሆኑ የሚሄዱት ሠረገሎች፥ በአህዮች የሚጋልቡትንና በግመሎች የሚጋልቡትን ባየ ጊዜ፣ በጽኑ ትጋት አስተውሎ ተግቶም ያድምጥ።" BSB BSB: When he sees chariots with teams of horsemen, riders on donkeys, riders on camels, he must be alert, fully alert.”
8 ULB ያየውም። ጌታ ሆይ፥ ቀኑን ሁሉ ዘወትር በማማ ላይ ቆሜአለሁ፥ ሌሊቱንም ሁሉ በመጠበቂያዬ ላይ ተተክያለሁ፣" BSB BSB: Then the lookout shouted: “Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower; night after night I stay at my post.
9 ULB እነሆም፣ በፈረሶች የሚቀመጡ፣ ሁለት ሁለት ሆነው የሚሄዱ ፈረሰኞች ይመጣሉ ብሎ ጮኸ፤ እርሱም መልሶ፣ "ባቢሎን ወደቀች፣ ወደቀች፣ የተቀረጹም የአማልክቶችዋ ምስሎች ሁሉ በምድር ላይ ተጥለው ደቀቁ" አለ። BSB BSB: Look, here come the riders, horsemen in pairs.” And one answered, saying: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon! 10 ULB እናንተ በአውድማዬ ላይ የተወቃችሁ የአውድማዬ ልጆች ሆይ! ከእስራኤል አምላክ፣ ከሠራዊት ጌታ እግዚአብሔር የሰማሁትን ነገርኋችሁ። BSB BSB: O my people, crushed on the threshing floor, I tell you what I have heard from the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel.
11 ULB ስለ ኤዶምያስ የተነገረ ዐዋጅ። አንዱ ከሴይር ይጣራል፣ "ጕበኛ ሆይ፣ ከሌሊቱ ምን ያክል ሰዓት ቀረ? ጕበኛ ሆይ፣ ከሌሊቱ ምን ያክል ሰዓት ቀረ?" ብሎ ጠራኝ። BSB BSB: This is the burden against Dumah: One calls to me from Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?”
12 ULB ጕበኛውም እንዲህ አለ፣ "ማለዳው ይመጣል፣ ድግሞም ምሽቱ፤ ብትጠይቁ፣ ጠይቁ፤ ተመልሳችሁም ኑ" አለ። BSB BSB: The watchman replies, “Morning has come, but also the night. If you would inquire, then inquire. Come back yet again.”
13 ULB ስለ ዓረብ የተነገረ ዐዋጅ። የዴዳናውያን ነጋዴዎች ሆይ፣ በዓረብ ዱር ውስጥ ታድራላችሁ። BSB BSB: This is the burden against Arabia: In the thickets of Arabia you must lodge, O caravans of Dedanites.
14 ULB በቴማን የምትኖሩ ሆይ፣ ወደ ተጠሙት ሰዎች ውኃ አምጡ፣ እንጀራ ይዛችሁ የሸሹትን ሰዎች ተቀበሉአቸው። BSB BSB: Bring water for the thirsty, O dwellers of Tema; meet the refugees with food.
15 ULB ከሰይፍ፣ ከተመዘዘው ሰይፍ፣ ከተለጠጠውም ቀስት ከጽኑም ሰልፍ ሸሽተዋልና። BSB BSB: For they flee from the sword—the sword that is drawn—from the bow that is bent, and from the stress of battle.
16 ULB ጌታ ያለኝ እንዲህ ነውና፣ "ምንደኛ ለአንድ ዓመት እንደሚቀጠር፣ በአንድ ዓመት ውስጥ የቄዳር ክብር ሁሉ ይጠፋል፤ BSB BSB: For this is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a hired worker would count it, all the glory of Kedar will be gone.
17 ULB ከቀስተኞች ቍጥር ጥቂቶቹ ብቻ፣ የቄዳር ልጆች ኃያላን፣ ያንሳሉ፤" የእስራኤል አምላክ እግዚአብሔር ተናግሮአልና። BSB BSB: The remaining archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be few.” For the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
