1. 1ULBተመልከቱ፣ እግዚአብሔር ምድርን ባዶ ያደርጋታል፣ ባድማም ያደርጋታል፣ ይገለብጣትማል፣ በእርስዋም የሚኖሩትን ይበትናል።BSBBSB: Behold, the LORD lays waste the earth and leaves it in ruins. He will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants—
2. 2ULBእንደ ሕዝቡም እንዲሁ ካህኑ፣ እንደ ባሪያውም እንዲሁ ጌታው፣ እንደ ባሪያይቱም እንዲሁ እመቤትዋ፣ እንደሚገዛም እንዲሁ የሚሸጠው፣ እንደ አበዳሪውም እንዲሁ ተበዳሪው፣ እንደ ዕዳ አስከፋዩም እንዲሁ ዕዳ ከፋዩ ይሆናል።BSBBSB: people and priest alike, servant and master, maid and mistress, buyer and seller, lender and borrower, creditor and debtor.
3. 3ULBምድር ፈጽሞ ትጠፋለች፣ ፈጽማም ትበላሻላች፤ እግዚአብሔር ይህን ቃል ተናግሮአልና።BSBBSB: The earth will be utterly laid waste and thoroughly plundered. For the LORD has spoken this word.
4. 4ULBምድር ደረቀች ረገፈችም፤ ዓለም ተናወጠች ረገፈችም፤ የምድርም ስመ-ጥር ሕዝብ ደከሙ።BSBBSB: The earth mourns and withers; the world languishes and fades; the exalted of the earth waste away.
5. 5ULBሕጉን ተላልፈዋልና፣ ሥርዓቱንም ለውጠዋልና፣ የዘላለሙንም ቃል ኪዳን አፍርሰዋልና፣ ምድርም ከሚቀመጡባት በታች ረክሳለች።BSBBSB: The earth is defiled by its people; they have transgressed the laws; they have overstepped the decrees and broken the everlasting covenant.
6. 6ULBስለዚህ መርገም ምድርን ትበላለች፣ የሚኖሩባትም ጥፋተኞች ይሆናሉ። ስለዚህ የምድር ነዋሪዎች ይቃጠላሉ፣ ጥቂት ሰዎችም ይቀራሉ።BSBBSB: Therefore a curse has consumed the earth, and its inhabitants must bear the guilt; the earth’s dwellers have been burned, and only a few survive.
7. 7ULBአዲስ የወይን ጠጅ ይደርቃል፣ የወይን ንግድ ደከመች፣ ልባቸው ደስ ያለው ሁሉ ተከዙ።BSBBSB: The new wine dries up, the vine withers. All the merrymakers now groan.
8. 8ULBየከበሮው ደስታ ቆሟል፣ የደስተኞች ድምፅ ዝም ብሎአል፣ የመሰንቆ ደስታ ቀርቶአል።BSBBSB: The joyful tambourines have ceased; the noise of revelers has stopped; the joyful harp is silent.
9. 9ULBእየዘፈኑም የወይን ጠጅን አይጠጡትም፣ የሚያሰክርም መጠጥ ለሚጠጡት መራራ ይሆናል።BSBBSB: They no longer sing and drink wine; strong drink is bitter to those who consume it.
10. 10ULBየተቃወሰችው ከተማ ፈረሰች፤ ቤት ሁሉ ተዘግቶ ባዶ ሆነ።BSBBSB: The city of chaos is shattered; every house is closed to entry.
11. 11ULBስለ ወይኑም ጠጅ በአደባባይ ለቅሶ ይሆናል፤ ደስታ ሁሉ ጨልሞአል፥ የምድርም ደስታ ጠፍቷል።BSBBSB: In the streets they cry out for wine. All joy turns to gloom; rejoicing is exiled from the land.
12. 12ULBከተማይቱም ባድማ ሆናለች፣ በርዋም በጥፋት ተመትቶአል።BSBBSB: The city is left in ruins; its gate is reduced to rubble.
13. 13ULBየወይራን ዛፍ እንደ መምታት፣ ከወይንም መከር በኋላ ቃርሚያውን እንደ መልቀም፣ እንዲሁ በምድር መካከል በአሕዛብም መካከል ይሆናል።BSBBSB: So will it be on the earth and among the nations, like a harvested olive tree, like a gleaning after a grape harvest.
14. 14ULBእነዚህ ድምፃቸውን አሰምተው እልል ይላሉ፣ ስለ እግዚአብሔር ክብርም ከባሕር በደስታ ይጮኻሉ።BSBBSB: They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they proclaim the majesty of the LORD.
15. 15ULBስለዚህ እግዚአብሔርን በምሥራቅ፣ የእስራኤልንም አምላክ የእግዚአብሔርንም ስም በባሕር ደሴቶች አክብሩ።BSBBSB: Therefore glorify the LORD in the east. Extol the name of the LORD, the God of Israel in the islands of the sea.
16. 16ULB"ለጻድቁ ክብር ይሁን!" የሚለውን ዝማሬ ከምድር ዳርቻ ሰምተናል። እኔ ግን፣ "ባከንሁ፣ ባከንሁ፣ ወዮልኝ! ወንጀለኞች ወንጅለዋል፤ አዎን፣ ወንጀለኞች እጅግ ወንጅለዋል" አልሁ።BSBBSB: From the ends of the earth we hear singing: “Glory to the Righteous One.” But I said, “I am wasting away! I am wasting away! Woe is me.” The treacherous betray; the treacherous deal in treachery.
17. 17ULBበምድር ላይ የምትኖር ሆይ፣ ፍርሃትና ገደል ወጥመድም በአንተ ላይ አሉ።BSBBSB: Terror and pit and snare await you, O dweller of the earth.
18. 18ULBከፍርሃት ድምፅ የሸሸ፣ በገደል ይወድቃል፤ ከገደልም የወጣ በወጥመድ ይያዛል። የሰማይ መስኮቶች ተከፍተዋል፣ የምድርም መሠረት ተናውጣለች።BSBBSB: Whoever flees the sound of panic will fall into the pit, and whoever climbs from the pit will be caught in the snare. For the windows of heaven are open, and the foundations of the earth are shaken.
19. 19ULBምድር ፈጽሞ ትሰባበራለች፣ ምድር ፈጽማ ደቀቀች፤ ምድር በኃይል ትነዋወጣለች።BSBBSB: The earth is utterly broken apart, the earth is split open, the earth is shaken violently.
20. 20ULBምድር እንደ ሰካራም ሰው ትንገዳገዳለች፣ እንደ ዳስም ትወዛወዛለች። መተላለፍዋ ይከብድባታል፣ ትወድቃለች ደግማም አትነሣም።BSBBSB: The earth staggers like a drunkard and sways like a shack. Earth’s rebellion weighs it down, and it falls, never to rise again.
21. 21ULBበዚያም ቀን እንደዚህ ይሆናል፤ እግዚአብሔር በከፍታ ያለውን ሠራዊት በከፍታ ላይ፣ በምድርም ያሉትን ነገሥታት በምድር ላይ ይቀጣቸዋል።BSBBSB: In that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven above and the kings of the earth below.
22. 22ULBግዞተኞች በጕድጓድ እንደሚከማቹ በአንድነት ይከማቻሉ፣ በግዞት ቤትም ውስጥ ተዘግተው ይኖራሉ፣ ከብዙ ቀንም በኋላ ይፈረድባቸዋል።BSBBSB: They will be gathered together like prisoners in a pit. They will be confined to a dungeon and punished after many days.
23. 23ULBከዚያም የሠራዊት ጌታ እግዚአብሔርም በጽዮን ተራራና በኢየሩሳሌም ላይ ይነግሣልና፣ በሽማግሌዎቹም ፊት ክብር ይሆናልና ጨረቃ ያፍራል፣ ፀሐይም ይዋረዳል።BSBBSB: The moon will be confounded and the sun will be ashamed; for the LORD of Hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before His elders with great glory.
