1 ULB ሁሉን ከሚችል አምላክ ሃጢያተኛ የሚፈረድበት ጊዜ ለምን አልተወሰነም? ለእርሱስ ታማኝ የሆኑት የፍርዱ ቀን እንደመጣ ለምን አያዩም? BSB BSB: “Why does the Almighty not reserve times for judgment? Why may those who know Him never see His days?
2 ULB የድንበር ምልክትን የሚያፈርሱ ኅጢያተኛ ሰዎች አሉ፤ የሌሎችን መንጋ በግፍ ወስደው የሚያሰማሩ አመጸኞች አሉ። BSB BSB: Men move boundary stones; they pasture stolen flocks.
3 ULB የድሀ አደጎችን አህያ ቀምተው ይነዳሉ፤ የመበለቲቱንም በሬ በመያዣ ይወስዳሉ። BSB BSB: They drive away the donkey of the fatherless and take the widow’s ox in pledge.
4 ULB ድሆችን ከመንገዳቸው ያስወጣሉ፤ የምድርም ችግረኞች ሁሉ ከእነርሱ ይሸሸጋሉ። BSB BSB: They push the needy off the road and force all the poor of the land into hiding.
5 ULB እነዚህ ችግረኞች፥ በምድረ በዳ እንዳሉ የሜዳ አህዮች ወደ ስራቸው ይወጣሉ፥ ምግብን ፍለጋ በጥንቃቄ ይሄዳሉ፤ ምንአልባት ምድረ በዳው ለልጆቻቸው መብልን ይሰጣቸዋል። BSB BSB: Indeed, like wild donkeys in the desert, the poor go to work foraging for food; the wasteland is food for their children.
6 ULB ድሆቹም በሌሎች ሰዎች በእርሻ ውስጥ በምሽት ያጭዳሉ፤ ከበደለኞችም መከር ወይንን ይቃርማሉ። BSB BSB: They gather fodder in the fields and glean the vineyards of the wicked.
7 ULB ራቁታቸውን ያለ ልብስ ምሽቱን ሁሉ ይተኛሉ፥ በብርድም ጊዜ መጐናጸፊያ የላቸውም። BSB BSB: Without clothing, they spend the night naked; they have no covering against the cold.
8 ULB ከተራሮች በሚወርድ ዝናብ ይረጥባሉ፤ መጠለያም ስለሌላቸው ከቋጥኝ ስር ይጋደማሉ። BSB BSB: Drenched by mountain rains, they huddle against the rocks for want of shelter.
9 ULB ድሀ አደጉን ህጻን ከእናቱ ጡት የሚነጥሉ ኅጢያተኞች አሉ፤ በደለኞችም ልጆችን በመያዣነት ይወስዳሉ። BSB BSB: The fatherless infant is snatched from the breast; the nursing child of the poor is seized for a debt.
10 ULB ነገር ግን ድሃዎቹ ያለ ልብስ ራቁታቸውን ይሄዳሉ፤ ተርበውም ቢሆን የሌሎችን እህል ነዶ ይሸከማሉ፤ BSB BSB: Without clothing, they wander about naked. They carry the sheaves, but still go hungry.
11 ULB ድሃ ሰዎች በኁጢኣን አጥር ውስጥ ዘይት ይሰራሉ፤ ወይንም ይጠምቃሉ፥ ነገር ግን እነርሱ በጥም ይሰቃያሉ። BSB BSB: They crush olives within their walls; they tread the winepresses, but go thirsty.
12 ULB በከተማ ውስጥ ሰዎች ያቃስታሉ፤ የቆሰሉም ለእርዳታ ይጮኻሉ፤ እግዚአብሔር ግን ልመናቸውን አይመለከትም። BSB BSB: From the city, men groan, and the souls of the wounded cry out, yet God charges no one with wrongdoing.
13 ULB እነዚህ ኅጢያተኞች በብርሃን ላይ ያምጻሉ፤ መንገዱን አያውቁም፥ በጎዳናውም አይጸኑም። BSB BSB: Then there are those who rebel against the light, not knowing its ways or staying on its paths.
14 ULB ነፍሰ ገዳዩም ማልዶ ይነሣል፤ ችግረኞችንና ድሆችን ይገድላል፤ በሌሊትም እንደ ሌባ ነው። BSB BSB: When daylight is gone, the murderer rises to kill the poor and needy; in the night he is like a thief.
15 ULB የአመንዝራም ዓይን ድግዝግዝታን ይጠብቃል። "የማንም ዓይን አያየኝም" ይላል፥ ፊቱንም እንደሌላ ይለውጣል። BSB BSB: The eye of the adulterer watches for twilight. Thinking, ‘No eye will see me,’ he covers his face.
16 ULB አመጸኞች ቤቶችን በጨለማ ይሰረስራሉ፤ በቀን ግን ይሸሸጋሉ፤ ለብርሃንም ግድ የላቸውም። BSB BSB: In the dark they dig through houses; by day they shut themselves in, never to experience the light.
17 ULB ለእነርሱ ጥዋት እንደ ድቅድቅ ጨለማ ነውና፤ ከድቅድቅ ጨለማ ሽብር ጋርም ተወዳጅተዋል። BSB BSB: For to them, deep darkness is their morning; surely they are friends with the terrors of darkness!
18 ULB ይሁን እንጂ በውኃ ላይ እንዳለ አረፋ በርረው ይጠፋሉ፤ የርስት እድል ፈንታቸውም የተረገመ ነው፤ በወይን ቦታቸውም ላይ ለመስራት ማንም አይሄድም። BSB BSB: They are but foam on the surface of the water; their portion of the land is cursed, so that no one turns toward their vineyards.
19 ULB ድርቅና ሙቀት በረዶውን እንደሚያቀልጥ፤ እንዲሁ ሲኦል ሃጢያተኞችን ታጠፋለች። BSB BSB: As drought and heat consume the melting snow, so Sheol steals those who have sinned.
20 ULB የተሸከመችው ማኅፀን ትረሳዋለች፤ ትልም በደስታ ይበላዋል፤ ዳግመኛም አይታሰብም፤ በዚህ ሁኔታ ዓመጸኝነት እንደ ዛፍ ይሰበራል። BSB BSB: The womb forgets them; the worm feeds on them; they are remembered no more. So injustice is broken like a tree.
21 ULB የማትወልደውን መካኒቱን ሃጥያተኛው ይጎዳታል፤ ለመበለቲቱም ምንም አይነት በጎነት አያደርግም። BSB BSB: They prey on the barren and childless, and show no kindness to the widow.
22 ULB ነገር ግን እግዚአብሔር በኃይሉ ኃያላንን ጎትቶ ይጥላል፤ እርሱም ይቆማል በሕይወቱ ግን አይጠነክርም። BSB BSB: Yet by His power, God drags away the mighty; though rising up, they have no assurance of life.
23 ULB እግዚአብሔር በደኅንነት እንዳሉ እንዲያስቡ ይፈቅዳል፥ በዚያም ደስ ይላቸዋል፤ ነገር ግን ዓይኖቹ በመንገዳቸው ላይ ናቸው። BSB BSB: He gives them a sense of security, but His eyes are on their ways.
24 ULB እነዚህ ሰዎች ለጥቂት ጊዜ ከፍ ከፍ ይላሉ፤ በርግጥ ግን፥ ይዋረዳሉ፤ እንደ ሌሎች ሁሉ ተሰብስበው፤ እንደ እሸት ራስ ጫፍ ይቈረጣሉ። BSB BSB: They are exalted for a moment, then they are gone; they are brought low and gathered up like all others; they are cut off like heads of grain.
25 ULB እንደዚህስ ባይሆን ሐሰተኛ የሚያደርገኝ፥ ንግግሬንም ከንቱ የሚያደርግ ማን ነው? BSB BSB: If this is not so, then who can prove me a liar and reduce my words to nothing?”
