1 ULB ኢየሱስ እነዚህን ቃሎች ተናግሮ በጨረሰ ጊዜ ደቀ መዛሙርቱን እንዲህ አላቸው፤ BSB BSB: When Jesus had finished saying all these things, He told His disciples,
2 ULB "ከሁለት ቀን በኋላ ፋሲካ እንደሚሆን ታውቃላችሁ፣ የሰው ልጅም ተሰቅሎ እንዲገደል ተላልፎ ይሰጣል፡፡" BSB BSB: “You know that the Passover is two days away, and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”
4 ULB ኢየሱስን በረቀቀ ዘዴ ለማሰርና ለመግደል ተማከሩ፡፡ BSB BSB: and they conspired to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.
5 ULB ምክንያቱም፣ በሕዝቡ መሓል ረብሻ እንዳይነሣ በበዓሉ ሰሞን መሆን የለበትም እያሉ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: “But not during the feast,” they said, “or there may be a riot among the people.”
6 ULB ኢየሱስ በቢታንያ በለምጻሙ ስምዖን ቤት BSB BSB: While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of Simon the Leper,
7 ULB ማዕድ ላይ ተቀምጦ እያለ፣ አንዲት ሴት ዋጋው ውድ የሆነ ሽቱ ያለበት የአልባስጥሮስ ብልቃጥ ይዛ መጣችና ራሱ ላይ አፈሰሰች፡፡ BSB BSB: a woman came to Him with an alabaster jar of expensive perfume, which she poured on His head as He reclined at the table.
8 ULB ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ይህን ሲያዩ በጣም ተቈጥተው፣ "ይህ ብክነት ምንድን ነው? BSB BSB: When the disciples saw this, they were indignant and asked, “Why this waste?
9 ULB ይህ እኮ ከፍ ባለ ዋጋ ተሸጦ ገንዘቡን ለድኾች መስጠት ይቻል ነበር" አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: This perfume could have been sold at a high price, and the money given to the poor.”
10 ULB ኢየሱስም ይህን ዐውቆ እንዲህ አላቸው፣ "ይህችን ሴት ለምን ታስቸግሯታላችሁ? ለእኔ መልካም ነገር አድርጋለች፡፡ BSB BSB: Aware of this, Jesus asked, “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful deed to Me.
11 ULB ድኾች ሁልጊዜ ከእናንተ ጋር ናቸው፤ እኔ ግን ሁልጊዜ ከእናንተ ጋር አልሆንም፡፡ BSB BSB: The poor you will always have with you, but you will not always have Me.
12 ULB ይህን ሽቱ እኔ ላይ ባፈሰሰች ጊዜ ለቀብሬ አድርጋዋለች፡፡ BSB BSB: By pouring this perfume on Me, she has prepared My body for burial.
13 ULB እውነት እላችኋለሁ፣ ይህ ወንጌል በመላው ዓለም ሲሰበክ ለእርሷ መታሰቢያ እንዲሆን ይህች ሴት ያደረገችውም ይነገርላታል።" BSB BSB: Truly I tell you, wherever this gospel is preached in all the world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”
14 ULB ከዚያም የአስቆሮቱ ይሁዳ የሚባለው ከዐሥራ ሁለቱ አንዱ ወደ ካህናት አለቆቹ ሄዶ፣ BSB BSB: Then one of the Twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15 ULB "እርሱን አሳልፌ ብሰጣችሁ ለእኔ ምን ትሰጡኛላችሁ?" አላቸው፡፡ እነርሱም ሠላሣ ጥሬ ብር ተመኑለት፡፡ BSB BSB: and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” And they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 ULB ከዚያ ጊዜ ወዲህ እርሱን አሳልፎ የሚሰጥበትን ምቹ ጊዜ ይጠባበቅ ጀመር፡፡ BSB BSB: So from then on Judas looked for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
17 ULB በቂጣ በዓል በመጀመሪያው ግን ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ወደ ኢየሱስ መጥተው፣ "የፋሲካን እራት እንድትበላ የት እንድናዘጋጅልህ ትፈልጋለህ?" አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”
18 ULB እርሱም፣ "ከተማው ውስጥ ወዳለ አንድ ሰው ሂዱና፣ 'መምህሩ "ጊዜዬ ደርሷል፤ ከደቀ መዛሙርቴ ጋር ፋሲካን በአንተ ቤት ማክበር እፈልጋለሁ' ይልሃል በሉት'" አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He answered, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him that the Teacher says, ‘My time is near. I will keep the Passover with My disciples at your house.’”
19 ULB ደቀ መዛሙርቱም ኢየሱስ እንደ ነገራቸው አደረጉ፤ የፋሲካንም እራት አዘጋጁለት፡ BSB BSB: So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
20 ULB ምሽት ላይ ከዐሥራ ሁለቱ ደቀ መዛሙርት ጋር ለመብላት ተቀመጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: When evening came, Jesus was reclining with the twelve disciples.
21 ULB በመብላት ላይ እያሉ፣ "እውነት እላችኋለሁ፣ ከእናንተ አንዱ አሳልፎ ይሰጠኛል" አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: And while they were eating, He said to them, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray Me.”
22 ULB እነርሱ በጣም ዐዘኑ፤ እያንዳንዱም፣ "እኔ እሆንን?" በማለት ይጠያየቁ ጀመር፡፡ BSB BSB: They were deeply grieved and began to ask Him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
23 ULB እርሱም፣ "አሳልፎ የሚሰጠኝ ከእኔ ጋር እጁን ወደ ሳሕኑ የሚሰደው ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “The one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with Me will betray Me.
24 ULB የሰው ልጅ ስለ እርሱ እንደ ተጻፈው ይሄዳል፤ የሰውን ልጅ አሳልፎ ለሚሰጠው ግን ወዮለት! ያ ሰው ባይወለድ ይሻለው ነበር" በማለት መለሰላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: The Son of Man will go just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed. It would be better for him if he had not been born.”
25 ULB አሳልፎ የሚሰጠው ይሁዳ፣ "መምህር ሆይ፣ እኔ ነኝ እንዴ?" አለው፤ እርሱም፣ "አንተው ራስህ ብለኸዋል" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Judas, who would betray Him, said, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus answered, “You have said it yourself.”
26 ULB በመብላት ላይ እያሉ፣ ኢየሱስ እንጀራ አንሥቶ ባርኮ ቈረሰ፡፡ "እንካችሁ ውሰዱ፣ ብሉት፤ ይህ ሥጋዬ ነው" ብሎ ለደቀ መዛሙርቱ ሰጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: While they were eating, Jesus took bread, spoke a blessing and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is My body.”
27 ULB ጽዋውንም አንሥቶ አመሰገነና ሰጣቸው፤ እንዲህም አላቸው፤ "ሁላችሁም ጠጡት BSB BSB: Then He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
28 ULB ይህ ለብዙዎች ኀጢአት ይቅርታ የሚፈስ የኪዳኑ ደሜ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: This is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
29 ULB እንደ ገና በአባቴ መንግሥት ከእናንተ ጋር እስክጠጣው ድረስ ከእንግዲህ ከዚህ ወይን ፍሬ እንደማልጠጣ ግን እነግራችኋለሁ፡፡" BSB BSB: I tell you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it anew with you in My Father’s kingdom.”
30 ULB መዝሙር ከዘመሩ በኋላ ወደ ደብረ ዘይት ተራራ ወጡ፡፡ BSB BSB: And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 ULB ያኔ ኢየሱስ፣ "በዚህ ሌሊት ሁላችሁም በእኔ ምክንያት ትሰናከላላችሁ፤ ምክንያቱም፣ 'እረኛውን እመታለሁ በጎቹም ይበተናሉ' ተብሎ ተጽፎአል፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus said to them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of Me. For it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 ULB ከተነሣሁ በኋላ ግን ቀድሜአችሁ ወደ ገሊላ እሄዳለሁ" አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”
33 ULB ጴጥሮስ ግን፣ "ሁሉም በአንተ ቢሰናከሉ እንኳ እኔ አልሰናከልም" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: Peter said to Him, “Even if all fall away on account of You, I never will.”
34 ULB ኢየሱስም፣ "እውነት እልሃለሁ፣ በዚህች ሌሊት ዶሮ ከመጮኹ በፊት ሦስት ጊዜ ትክደኛለህ" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: “Truly I tell you,” Jesus declared, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”
35 ULB ጴጥሮስም፣ "ከአንተ ጋር መሞት ቢኖርብኝ እንኳ አልክድህም" አለ፡፡ ሌሎችም ደቀ መዛሙርት ሁሉ እንደዚያው አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Peter replied, “Even if I have to die with You, I will never deny You.” And all the other disciples said the same thing.
36 ULB ከዚያም ኢየሱስ ከእነርሱ ጋር ጌቴሴማኒ ወደሚሉት ቦታ ሄደ፤ ደቀ መዛሙርቱንም፣ "ወደዚያ ሄጄ እስክጸልይ ድረስ እዚህ ሁኑ" አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Jesus went with His disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and He told them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
37 ULB ጴጥሮስንና ሁለቱን የዘብዴዎስ ልጆች ይዞ ሄደ፤ ያዝንና ይጨነቅም ጀመር፡፡ ከዚያም፣ BSB BSB: He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee and began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.
38 ULB "ነፍሴ፣ እስከ ሞት ድረስ በጣም ዐዝናለች፡፡ እዚህ ሆናችሁ ከእኔ ጋር ትጉ" አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Then He said to them, “My soul is consumed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with Me.”
39 ULB ጥቂት ራቅ ብሎ በመሄድ በግንባሩ ወድቆ ጸለየ፤ "አባት ሆይ፣ የሚቻል ከሆነ ይህ ጽዋ ከእኔ ይለፍ፤ ይሁን እንጂ፣ የእኔ ፈቃድ ሳይሆን የአንተ ፈቃድ ይሁን" አለ፡፡ BSB BSB: Going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.”
40 ULB ወደ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ሲመጣ ተኝተው አገኛቸው፤ ጴጥሮስንም፣ "ከእኔ ጋር አንድ ሰዓት ያህል እንኳ መትጋት አልቻላችሁምን? BSB BSB: Then Jesus returned to the disciples and found them sleeping. “Were you not able to keep watch with Me for one hour?” He asked Peter.
41 ULB ወደ ፈተና እንዳትገቡ ትጉና ጸልዩ፡፡ መንፈስ በእርግጥ ፈቃደኛ ነው፤ ሥጋ ግን ደካማ ነው" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: “Watch and pray so that you will not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
42 ULB ለሁለተኛ ጊዜ ጥቂት ፈቀቅ ብሎ ጸለየ፤ "አባት ሆይ፣ እኔ ካልጠጣሁት በቀር ይህ የማያልፍ ከሆነ፣ ፈቃድህ ይሁን" አለ፡፡ BSB BSB: A second time He went away and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass unless I drink it, may Your will be done.”
43 ULB እንደ ገና ሲመጣ ዐይኖቻቸው ከብደው ነበርና ተኝተው አገኛቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: And again Jesus returned and found them sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44 ULB እንደ ገና ትቶአቸው ሄዶ ለሦስተኛ ጊዜ ያንኑ ቃል ጸለየ፡፡ BSB BSB: So He left them and went away once more and prayed a third time, saying the same thing.
45 ULB ከዚያም ኢየሱስ ወደ ደቀ መዛሙርቱ መጥቶ፣ "አሁንም ዐርፋችሁ ተኝታችኋል? ጊዜው ደርሷል፤ የሰው ልጅ በኀጢአተኞች እጅ ተላልፎ ይሰጣል፡፡ BSB BSB: Then He returned to the disciples and said, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 ULB እንግዲህ ተነሡ እንሂድ አሳልፎ የሚሰጠኝ ቀርቧል" አላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Rise, let us go! See, My betrayer is approaching!”
48 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ አሳልፎ የሚሰጠው፣ "እኔ የምስመው እርሱ ነው፤ ያዙት" የሚል ምልክት ሰጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The One I kiss is the man; arrest Him.”
49 ULB ወዲያውኑ ወደ ኢየሱስ መጥቶ፣ "መምህር ሆይ፣ ሰላም ለአንተ ይሁን!" ብሎ ሳመው፡፡ BSB BSB: Going directly to Jesus, he said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
50 ULB ኢየሱስም፣ "ወዳጄ፣ የመጣህበትን ጉዳይ ፈጽም" አለው፡፡ ከዚያም መጡ ኢየሱስ ላይ እጃቸውን ጫኑ፣ ያዙትም። BSB BSB: “Friend,” Jesus replied, “do what you came for.” Then the men stepped forward, seized Jesus, and arrested Him.
53 ULB አባቴን ብጠይቅ በብዙ ሺህ የሚቈጠሩ መላእክት የማይልክልኝ ይመስልሃል? BSB BSB: Are you not aware that I can call on My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels?
54 ULB እንደዚያ ከሆነ ይህ እንደሚሆን የሚናገረው መጽሐፉ ቃል እንዴት ይፈጸማል?" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
55 ULB በዚያን ጊዜ ኢየሱስ ለሕዝቡ፣ "ወንበዴን እንደምትይዙ ሰይፍና ዱላ ይዛችሁ መጣችሁ? በየቀኑ በቤተ መቅደስ ተቀምጬ እያስተማርሁ ነበርሁ፡፡ እናንተም አልያዛችሁኝም ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: At that time Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as you would an outlaw? Every day I sat teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest Me.
56 ULB የነቢያት መጽሐፍ እንዲፈጸም ይህ ሆኗል" አላቸው፡፡ ከዚያም ደቀ መዛሙርቱ ሁሉ ትተውት ሸሹ፡፡ BSB BSB: But this has all happened so that the writings of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted Him and fled.
58 ULB ጴጥሮስ ግን ከሩቅ ሆኖ እስከ ሊቀ ካህናቱ ግቢ ድረስ ተከተለው፤ ወደ ውስጥ ገብቶም የሚሆነውን ለማየት ከጠባቂዎቹ ጋር ተቀመጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: But Peter followed Him at a distance, right up to the courtyard of the high priest. And he went in and sat down with the guards to see the outcome.
59 ULB እርሱን ለማስገደል የካህናት አለቆቹና ሸንጎው ሁሉ በኢየሱስ ላይ በሐሰት የሚመሰክሩበትን ሰዎች እየፈለጉ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: Now the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus in order to put Him to death.
60 ULB ምንም እንኳ ብዙ የሐሰት ምስክሮች ቢመጡም፤ በቂ ማስረጃ አላገኙም፡፡ በኋላ ግን ሁለት ሰዎች ወደ ፊት መጥተው፣ BSB BSB: But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward
61 ULB "ይህ ሰው፣ 'የእግዚአብሔርን ቤተ መቅደስ አፍርሼ በሦስት ቀን ውስጥ እንደ ገና ልሠራው እችላለሁ' ብሏል" አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
62 ULB ሊቀ ካህናቱ ተነሥቶ፣ "መልስ የለህም? በአንተ ላይ እየመሰከሩብህ ያለው ምንድን ነው?" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: So the high priest stood up and asked Him, “Have You no answer? What are these men testifying against You?”
63 ULB ኢየሱስ ግን ዝም አለ፡፡ ሊቀ ካህናቱም፣ "በሕያው እግዚአብሔር አዝሃለሁ፤ አንተ ክርስቶስ የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ መሆን አለመሆንህን ንገረን" አለው፡፡ BSB BSB: But Jesus remained silent. Then the high priest said to Him, “I charge You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God.”
64 ULB ኢየሱስም፣ "አንተው ራስህ አልህ፤ ግን ልንገርህ፣ ከአሁን ጀምሮ የሰው ልጅ በኀይል ቀኝ በሰማይ ደመና ሲመጣ ታያለህ" በማለት መለሰለት፡፡ BSB BSB: “You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
65 ULB ከዚያም ሊቀ ካህናቱ ልብሱን ቀደደና፣ "እግዚአብሔርን ተሳድቧል፤ ታዲያ፣ ምስክር የምንፈልገው ለምንድን ነው? አሁን ስድቡን ሰምታችኋል BSB BSB: At this, the high priest tore his clothes and declared, “He has blasphemed! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.
66 ULB ለመሆኑ፣ ምን ታስባላችሁ?" አለ፡፡ እነርሱም መልሰው፣ "ሞት ይገባዋል" አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: What do you think?” “He deserves to die,” they answered.
67 ULB ከዚያም ፊቱ ላይ ተፉበት፣ በጡጫና በጥፊ መቱት፤ BSB BSB: Then they spit in His face and struck Him. Others slapped Him
68 ULB "አንተ ክርስቶስ እስቲ ትንቢት ተናገር፡፡ ለመሆኑ፣ በጥፊ የመታህ ማን ነው?" አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: and said, “Prophesy to us, Christ! Who hit You?”
69 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ ጴጥሮስ እደጅ ግቢው ውስጥ ተቀምጦ ነበር፤ አንዲት አገልጋይ ልጅ ወደ እርሱ መጥታ፣ "አንተም ደግሞ ከገሊላው ኢየሱስ ጋር ነበርህ" አለችው፡፡ BSB BSB: Meanwhile, Peter was sitting out in the courtyard, and a servant girl came up to him. “You also were with Jesus the Galilean,” she said.
70 ULB እርሱ ግን፣ "ምን እየተናገርሽ እንደ ሆነ አላውቅም" በማለት በሁሉም ፊት ካደ፡፡ BSB BSB: But he denied it before them all: “I do not know what you are talking about.”
71 ULB ከግቢው ወደሚያስወጣው በር እየሄደ እያለ፣ ሌላ አገልጋይ ልጅ አየችውና እዚያ ለነበሩት፣ "ይህኛውም ሰውየ ከናዝሬቱ ኢየሱስ ጋር ነበረ" አለች፡፡ BSB BSB: When Peter had gone out to the gateway, another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 ULB እርሱም፣ "ሰውየውን አላውቀወም" በማለት በመሐላ ጭምር በድጋሚ ካደ፡፡ BSB BSB: And again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man!”
73 ULB ጥቂት ቆየት ብሎ እዚያ ቆመው የነበሩት መጥተው ጴጥሮስን፣ "በርግጥ አንተም ብትሆን ከእነርሱ አንዱ ነህ፤ አነጋገርህ ራሱ ያጋልጥሃል" አሉት፡፡ BSB BSB: After a little while, those standing nearby came up to Peter. “Surely you are one of them,” they said, “for your accent gives you away.”
74 ULB ከዚያም፣ "ሰውየውን ጨርሶ አላውቀውም" በማለት ይራገምና ይምል ጀመር፤ ወዲያውኑ ዶሮ ጮኸ፡፡ BSB BSB: At that he began to curse and swear to them, “I do not know the man!” And immediately a rooster crowed.
75 ULB ጴጥሮስ "ዶሮ ሳይጮኽ ሦስቴ ትክደኛለህ" በማለት ኢየሱስ የተናገረውን አስታወሰ፡፡ ከዚያ ወደ ውጭ ወጥቶ ምርር ብሎ አለቀሰ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then Peter remembered the word that Jesus had spoken: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly.
