1 ULB በዚህ ጊዜ የሮቤልና የጋድ ትውልዶች ብዙ የቀንድ ከብቶች ነበራቸው፡፡ የኢያዜርንና የገለዓድን ምድር ሲመለከቱ፣ ምድሪቱ ለከብቶቻቸው መልካም መሆኗን አዩ፡፡ BSB BSB: Now the Reubenites and Gadites, who had very large herds and flocks, surveyed the lands of Jazer and Gilead, and they saw that the region was suitable for livestock.
2 ULB ስለዚህ የጋድና ሮቤል ትውልዶች ወደ ሙሴ፣ ወደ ካህኑ አልዓዛርና ወደማህበሩ መሪዎች መጥተው እንዲህ አሉ፣ BSB BSB: So the Gadites and Reubenites came to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the congregation, and said,
3 ULB “ያህዌ በእስራኤል ህዝብ ፊት የመታው አጣሮት፣ ዲቦን ኢያዜር፣ ኒምራ፣ ሐሴናን፣ ኤልያሊ፣ ሴባማ፣ ናባውና ባያን BSB BSB: “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
4 ULB ምድሩ ለከብቶች መልካም ነው፡፡ እኛ፣ የአንተ አገልጋዮች ብዙ ከበቶች አሉን፡፡” BSB BSB: which the LORD conquered before the congregation of Israel, are suitable for livestock—and your servants have livestock.”
5 ULB ደግሞም እንዲህ አሉ፣ “በፊትህ ሞገስ አግኝተን ከሆነ፣ ይህች ምድር ለእኛ ለአገልጋዮችህ ርስት ሆና ትሰጠን፡፡ ዮርዳኖስን አቋርጠን እንድንሄድ አታድርግ፡፡” BSB BSB: “If we have found favor in your sight,” they said, “let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”
6 ULB ሙሴ ለጋድና ሮቤል ትውልዶች እንዲህ ሲል መለሰላቸው፣ “እናንተ በዚህ ተቀምጣችሁ ወንድሞቻችሁ ወደ ጦርነት ሊሄዱ ይገባልን? BSB BSB: But Moses asked the Gadites and Reubenites, “Shall your brothers go to war while you sit here?
7 ULB የእስራኤል ህዝብ ያህዌ ወደ ሰጣቸው ምድር እንዳይገቡ ለምን ልባቸውን ታደክማላችሁ? BSB BSB: Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land that the LORD has given them?
8 ULB አባቶቻችሁ ከቀዴስ በርኔ ምድሪቱን እንዲያዩ በላክኋቸው ጊዜ ያደረጉት ተመሳሳይ ነገር ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to inspect the land.
9 ULB እነርሱ ወደ ኤሽኮል ሸለቆ ሄዱ፡፡ ምድሪቱን ካዩ በኋላ የእስራኤልን ልብ አደከሙ፤ ስለዚህም ያህዌ ወደ ሰጣቸው ምድር ለመግባት ተቃወሙ፡፡ BSB BSB: For when your fathers went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land that the LORD had given them.
10 ULB በዚያ ቀን የያህዌ ቁጣ ነደደ፡፡ በመሀላ እንዲህ አለ፣ BSB BSB: So the anger of the LORD was kindled that day, and He swore an oath, saying,
11 ULB ‘ከግብጽ ምድር ከወጡ ሰዎች ሃያ አመትና ከዚያ በላይ ከሆናቸው፣ መሃል አንዳቸውም ለአብርሃም፣ ለይስሃቅ፣ እና ለያዕቆብ ልሰጣቸው በመሀላ ቃል የገባሁላቸውን ምድር አያዩም፣ ምክንያቱም እነርሱ በሙሉ ልባቸው አልተከተሉኝም፤ BSB BSB: ‘Because they did not follow Me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years of age or older who came out of Egypt will see the land that I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—
12 ULB ከቂኔዛዊው ከዩፎኒ ልጅ ከካሌብ፣ እና ከነዌ ልጅ ከኢያሱ በስተቀር፡፡ ካሌብና ኢያሱ ብቻ በሙሉ ልባቸው ተከትለውኛል፡፡’ BSB BSB: not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun—because they did follow the LORD wholeheartedly.’
13 ULB ስለዚህም የያህዌ ቁጣ በእስራኤል ላይ ነደደ፡፡ በፊቱ ክፉ ያደረገው ትውልድ ሁሉ እስኪጠፋ ድረስ ለአርባ አመታት በምድረበዳ እንዲንከራተቱ አደረጋቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had done evil in His sight was gone.
14 ULB እናንተ እንደ ሌሎች ኃጢአተኛ ሰዎች የያህዌን ቁጣ በእስራኤል ላይ ለመጨመር በአባቶቻችሁ እግር ተተካችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: Now behold, you, a brood of sinners, have risen up in place of your fathers to further stoke the burning anger of the LORD against Israel.
15 ULB እርሱን ከመከተል ፊታችሁን ብታዞሩ፣ እርሱ እስራኤልን ዳግም በበረሃ ይተዋል እናንተም ይህን ሁሉ ህዝብ ታጠፋላችሁ፡፡” BSB BSB: For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave this people in the wilderness, and you will be the cause of their destruction.”
16 ULB ስለዚህም ወደ ሙሴ መጥተው እንዲህ አሉ፣ “በዚህ ለከብቶቻችን አጥር እና ለቤተሰቦቻችን ከተማ እንድንገነባ ፍቀድል፡፡ BSB BSB: Then the Gadites and Reubenites approached Moses and said, “We want to build sheepfolds here for our livestock and cities for our little ones.
17 ULB ሆኖም፣ እኛ እራሳችን ወደ ስፍራቸው እስክናባርራቸው ድረስ ከእስራኤል ጦር ጋር ለመውጣት እንነሳለን እንታጠቃንም፡፡ ቤተሰቦችን ግን እስከ አሁን በዚህ ምድር ከሚኖሩ ሌሎች ሰዎች የተነሳ በተቀጠሩ ከተሞች ውስጥ ይኖራሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: But we will arm ourselves and be ready to go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them into their place. Meanwhile, our little ones will remain in the fortified cities for protection from the inhabitants of the land.
18 ULB የእስራኤል ህዝብ እያንዱ ሰው ርስቱን እስኪያገኝ ድረስ ወደ ቤቶቻችን አንመለስም፡፡ BSB BSB: We will not return to our homes until every Israelite has taken possession of his inheritance.
19 ULB እኛ ከእነርሱ ጋር ከዮርዳኖስ ማዶ ያለውን ምድር አንወርስም፣ ምክንያቱም የእኛ ርስት እዚህ በዮርዳኖስ ምስራቅ በኩል ያለው ነው፡፡” BSB BSB: Yet we will not have an inheritance with them across the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on the east side of the Jordan.”
20 ULB ስለዚህም ሙሴ እንዲህ ሲል መለሰላቸው፣ “የተናገራችሁትን ካደረጋችሁ፣ ወደ ጦርነት በያህዌ ፊት ለመውጣት ራሳችሁን ካስታጠቃችሁ፣ BSB BSB: Moses replied, “If you will do this—if you will arm yourselves before the LORD for battle,
21 ULB ከዚያ በኋላ እያንዳንዳቸው የእናንተ የታጠቁ ወንዶች ጠላቶቹን ከፊቱ እስኪያባርራቸው ድረስ በያህዌ ፊት ዮርዳኖስን ማቋረጥ አለባቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: and if every one of your armed men crosses the Jordan before the LORD, until He has driven His enemies out before Him,
22 ULB ደግሞም ምድሪቱ በእርሱ ፊት ጸጥ ብላ ትገዛለች፡፡ ከዚያ በኋላ መመለስ ትችላላችሁ፡፡ እናንተም በያህዌና በእስራኤል ፊት ጥፋተኛ አትሆኑም፡፡ ይህ ምድር በያህዌ ፊት ርስታችሁ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: then when the land is subdued before the LORD, you may return and be free of obligation to the LORD and to Israel. And this land will belong to you as a possession before the LORD.
23 ULB እንዲህ ካላደረጋችሁ ግን፣ በያህዌ ፊት በደለኞች ትሆናላችሁ ኃጢአታችሁ እንደሚከተላችሁ እርግጠኞች ሁኑ፡፡ BSB BSB: But if you do not do this, you will certainly sin against the LORD—and be assured that your sin will find you out.
24 ULB ለቤተሰቦቻችሁ ከተሞችን ገንቡ ለበጎቻችሁም ጉረነዎች ስሩላቸው፤ ከዚያ ያላችሁትን አድርጉ፡፡” BSB BSB: Build cities for your little ones and folds for your flocks, but do what you have promised.”
25 ULB የጋድና ሮቤል ትውልዶች ሙሴን እንዲህ አሉት፣ “እኛ አገልጋዮችህ አንተ ጌታችን ያዘዝከንን እናደርጋለን፡፡ BSB BSB: The Gadites and Reubenites said to Moses, “Your servants will do just as our lord commands.
26 ULB ልጆቻችን፣ ሚስቶቻችን፣ መንጎችንና የቀን ከብቶቻችን በገለዓድ ከተሞች ይቆያሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Our children, our wives, our livestock, and all our animals will remain here in the cities of Gilead.
27 ULB ሆኖም፣ እኛ፣ የአንተ አገልጋዮች ለጦርነት በያህዌ ፊት እንወጣን፤ ለጦርነት የታጠቀ እያንዳንዱ ሰው አንተ ጌታችን እንዳልከው ያደርጋል፡፡” BSB BSB: But your servants are equipped for war, and every man will cross over to the battle before the LORD, just as our lord says.”
28 ULB ስለዚህም ሙሴ ለካህኑ አልዓዛር፣ ለነዌ ልጅ ለኢያሱና በእስራኤል ህዝብ መሃል የጎሳዎች አባቶች ለሆኑ መሪዎች እነርሱን በሚመለከት መመሪያዎቻችን ሰጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
29 ULB ሙሴ እንዲህ አላቸው፣ “የጋድና የሮቤል ትውልዶች ከእናንተ ጋር ዮርዳስን ቢሻገሩና በያህዌ ፊት ለጦርነት የታጠቀ እያንዳንዱ ወንድ እና ምድሪቱ በፊታችሁ ቢገዙ፣ የገለዓድን ምድር ለእነርሱ ርስት አድርገህ ትሰጣቸዋለህ፡፡ BSB BSB: And Moses said to them, “If the Gadites and Reubenites cross the Jordan with you, with every man armed for battle before the LORD, and the land is subdued before you, then you are to give them the land of Gilead as a possession.
30 ULB ነገር ግን ታጥቀው ከአንተ ጋር ዮርዳኖስን ባይሻገሩ፣ ርስታቸውን በከነአን ምድር ከአንተ ጋር ያገኛሉ፡፡” BSB BSB: But if they do not arm themselves and go across with you, then they must accept their possession among you in the land of Canaan.”
31 ULB ስለዚህም የጋድና ሮቤል ትውልዶች እንዲህ ሲሉ መለሱ፣ “ያህዌ ለእኛ ለባሮችህ እንደተናገረው፣ የምናደርገው ነገር ይህ ነው፡፡ እንሻገራለን፡፡ BSB BSB: The Gadites and Reubenites replied, “As the LORD has spoken to your servants, so we will do.
32 ULB እኛ ታጥቀን በያህዌ ፊት ወደ ከነዓን ምድር እንሻገራለን፣ ነገር ግን የተወረሰው ርስታችን በዚህኛው የዮርዳስ ክፍል ከእኛ ጋር ይቀራል፡፡” BSB BSB: We will cross over into the land of Canaan armed before the LORD, that we may have our inheritance on this side of the Jordan.”
33 ULB ስለዚህ ሙሴ ለጋድና ለሮቤል ትውልዶች፣ እንዲሁም ለዮሴፍ ልጅ ለምናሴ ከፊል ነገድ፤ የአሞውያንን ንጉስ የሴዎንን ግዛት እና የባሳንን ንጉስ የዓግን ግዛቶች ሰጣቸው፡፡ ለእነርሱ ምድሪቱን ሰጣቸው፣ እንዲሁም ከተማዎቿን ከዳርቻዎቻቸው ጋር እና በዙሪያቸው ያሉ ከተሞችን አደላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land including its cities and the territory surrounding them.
34 ULB የጋድ ትውልዶች ዲቦንን፣ አጣሮትን፣ አሮዔርን፣ BSB BSB: And the Gadites built up Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
35 ULB ዓጥሮት ሾፋንን፣ አያዜርን፣ ዮግብሃን፣ BSB BSB: Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
36 ULB ቤት ነምራንን እና ቤት ሃራንን የተቀጠሩ ከተሞችና ለበጎች ጉረኖዎች ያላቸው አድርገው እንደገና ገነቧቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran as fortified cities, and they built folds for their flocks.
37 ULB የሮቤል ትውልዶች ሐሴቦንንና፣ ኤልያሊንና ቂርያትይምን፣ BSB BSB: The Reubenites built up Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
38 ULB ናባውን፣ በአልሜዎንን (ስማቸው በኋላ ተቀይሯል) እና ሴባማንን እንደገና ገነቧቸው፡፡ እነርሱም ዳግም ለገነቧቸው ከተሞች ሌላ ስሞችን ሰጡ፡፡ BSB BSB: as well as Nebo and Baal-meon (whose names were changed), and Sibmah. And they renamed the cities they rebuilt.
39 ULB የምናሴ ልጅ የማኪር ትውልዶች ወደ ገለዓድ ሄደው በውስጧ ይኖሩ ከነበሩት ከአሞራውያን ከለአድን ወሰዱ፡፡ BSB BSB: The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
40 ULB ከዚያ ሙሴ ለምናሴ ልጅ ለማኪር ገለዓድን ሰጠው፣ የእርሱም ሰዎች መኖሪያችን በዚያ አደረጉ፡፡ BSB BSB: So Moses gave Gilead to the clan of Machir son of Manasseh, and they settled there.
41 ULB የምናሴ ልጅ ኢያዕር ሄዶ ከተማቸውን ይዞ የኢያዕር መንደሮች ብሎ ሰየማቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, went and captured their villages and called them Havvoth-jair.
42 ULB ኖባህ ሄዶ ቄናትንና መንደሮቿን ይዞ፣ በራሱ ስም ኖባህ ብሎ ሰየማት፡፡ BSB BSB: And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.
