1 ULB ልጄ ሆይ፣ ትእዛዛቴን አትርሳ፣ ትምህርቴንም በልብህ ጠብቅ፣ BSB BSB: My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;
2 ULB በሕይወትህ ብዙ ቀኖችንና ዓመቶችን እንደዚሁም ሰላምን ይጨምሩልሃል፡፡ BSB BSB: for they will add length to your days, years and peace to your life.
3 ULB በኪዳን የተመሰረተ ታማኝነትና እውነተኛነት አይለዩህ፣ በአንገትህ ዙርያ በአንድ ላይ እሰራቸው፣ በልብህም ጽላት ላይ ጻፋቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Never let loving devotion or faithfulness leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 ULB በዚያን ጊዜ ሞገስና መልካም ስም በእግዚአብሔርና በሰው ፊት ታገኛለህ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.
5 ULB በሙሉ ልብህ በእግዚአብሔር ታመን፣ በራስህም ማስተዋል ላይ አትደገፍ፤ BSB BSB: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6 ULB በመንገድህ ሁሉ እርሱን እወቅ፣ እርሱም መንገድህን ቀና ያደርገዋል፡፡ BSB BSB: in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
7 ULB በራስህ አስተያየት ጥበበኛ አትሁን፤ እግዚብሔርን ፍራ፣ ከክፉም ራቅ፡፡ BSB BSB: Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
8 ULB ይህም ለስጋህ ፈውስ፣ ለሰውነትህም መታደስ ይሆንልሃል፡፡ BSB BSB: This will bring healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.
9 ULB እግዚአብሔርን በሀብትህና በምርትህ ሁሉ በኩራት አክብረው፣ BSB BSB: Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 ULB ጎተራህ ሙሉ ይሆናል፣ ገንዳህ ደግሞ በአዲስ ወይን ጠጅ ተትረፍርፎ ይሞላል፡፡ BSB BSB: then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 ULB ልጄ ሆይ፣ የእግዚአብሔርን ቅጣት አትናቅ፣ ተግሳጹንም አትጥላ፣ BSB BSB: My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD, and do not loathe His rebuke;
12 ULB አባት ደስ የሚሰኝበትን ልጁን እንደሚቀጣ እንደዚሁ እግዚአብሔርም የሚወዳቸውን ይቀጣልና፡፡ BSB BSB: for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights.
13 ULB ጥበብን የሚያገኛት ሰው ደስተኛ ነው፣ እውቀትንም ያገኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who acquires understanding,
14 ULB ከጥበብ የምታገኘው ጥቅም ብር ከሚሰጥህ ትርፍ ይልቅ እጅግ ይበልጣል፣ የጥበብ ትርፍ ከወርቅም ይበልጣል፡፡ BSB BSB: for she is more profitable than silver, and her gain is better than fine gold.
15 ULB ጥበብ ከከበረ ዕንቁ ይልቅ እጅግ ውድ ናት፣ አንተ ከምትመኘው ነገር ሁሉ እርሷን የሚተካከላት ምንም ነገር የለም፡፡ BSB BSB: She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire compares with her.
16 ULB በቀኝ እጇ ረጅም ዕድሜ አለ፤ በግራ እጇ ደግሞ ባለጠግነትንና ክብርን ይዛለች፡፡ BSB BSB: Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 ULB መንገዷ የደግነት መንገድ ነው፣ ጎዳናዋም ሰላም ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: All her ways are pleasant, and all her paths are peaceful.
18 ULB እርሷ አጥብቀው ለሚይዟት የሕይወት ዛፍ ናት፣ የሚደገፉባትም ደስተኞች ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: She is a tree of life to those who embrace her, and those who lay hold of her are blessed.
19 ULB እግዚአብሔር በጥበብ ምድርን መሰረተ፣ ሰማያትን ደግሞ በማስተዋል አጸና፡፡ BSB BSB: The LORD founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding.
20 ULB በእወቀቱ ጥልቆች ተሰንጥቀው ተከፈቱ፣ ደመናትም ጠልን አንጠበጠቡ፡፡ BSB BSB: By His knowledge the watery depths were broken open, and the clouds dripped with dew.
21 ULB ልጄ ሆይ፣ ትክክለኛ ፍርድንና ነገሮችን በሚገባ መለየትን ጠብቅ፣ እነዚህ ከእይታህ አይራቁ፡፡ BSB BSB: My son, do not lose sight of this: Preserve sound judgment and discernment.
22 ULB እነዚህ ለነፍስህ ሕይወት፣ በአንገትህ ዙርያ የምታስራቸው የሞገስ ጌጥ ይሆናሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: They will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck.
23 ULB በዚያን ጊዜ በመንገድህ ተማምነህ በሰላም ትራመዳለህ፣ እግርህም አይሰናከልም፤ BSB BSB: Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.
24 ULB በምትተኛበት ጊዜ አትፈራም፤ ስትተኛ እንቅልፍህ ጣፋጭ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you rest, your sleep will be sweet.
25 ULB በድንገተኛ ሽብርና በክፉዎች አማካይነት በሚደርስ ጥፋት አትፍራ፣ BSB BSB: Do not fear sudden danger or the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26 ULB እግዚአብሔር በአጠገብህ ይሆናልና፣ እግርህም በወጥመድ እንዳያያዝ ይጠብቅሃልና፡፡ BSB BSB: for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from the snare.
27 ULB ልታደርግ የሚቻልህ ሲሆን፣ ለሚገባቸው ሰዎች መልካምን ነገር ከማድረግ አትከልክል፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not withhold good from the deserving when it is within your power to act.
28 ULB አሁን በእጅህ ገንዘብ እያለ ለጎረቤትህ “አሁን ሂድ፣ እንደገና ተመልሰህ ና፣ ነገ እሰጥሃለሁ” አትበለው፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not tell your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I will provide”—when you already have the means.
29 ULB በአጠገብህ የሚኖረውንና በአንተ የሚተማመነውን ጎረቤትህን ለመጉዳት አትምከርበት፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he trustfully dwells beside you.
30 ULB አንድ ሰው አንተን ለመጉዳት ክፉ ካልሰራብህ ያለ በቂ ምክንያት ከዚህ ሰው ጋር አትከራከር፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not accuse a man without cause, when he has done you no harm.
31 ULB በክፉ ሰው አትቅና፣ የትኛውንም መንገዱን አትምረጥ፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways;
32 ULB ጠማማ ሰው በእግዚብሔር ፊት የተጠላ ነውና፣ ቅን ሰውን ግን ወዳጁ ያደርገዋል፡፡ BSB BSB: for the LORD detests the perverse, but He is a friend to the upright.
33 ULB የእግዚአብሔር እርግማን በክፉ ሰዎች ቤት ላይ ነው፣ የጻድቃንን ቤት ግን ይባርካል፡፡ BSB BSB: The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the righteous.
34 ULB እርሱ በፌዘኞች ላይ ያፌዛል፣ ለትሁታን ግን ሞገሱን ይሰጣቸዋል፡፡ BSB BSB: He mocks the mockers, but gives grace to the humble.
35 ULB ጥበበኞች ክብርን ይወርሳሉ፣ የሞኞች ከፍታ ግን ውርደታቸው ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: The wise will inherit honor, but fools are held up to shame.
