1 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ፣ ጸሎቴን ስማ ልመናዬንም ቸል አትበል፡፡ BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Maskil of David. Listen to my prayer, O God, and do not ignore my plea.
2 ULB ችግሬ ዕረፍት ነስቶኛልና ወደ እኔ ተመልከት መልስልኝም፡፡ BSB BSB: Attend to me and answer me. I am restless in my complaint, and distraught
3 ULB ከጠላቶቼ ዛቻ የተነሣ፣ ፈርቼአለሁ፤ በክፉዎችም ጭቈና ደቅቄአለሁ፡፡ መከራ አምጥተውብኛል፤ በቁጣም ያሳድዱኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: at the voice of the enemy, at the pressure of the wicked. For they bring down disaster upon me and resent me in their anger.
4 ULB ልቤ በውስጤ ተሸበረብኝ የሞት ድንጋጤም መጣብኝ፡፡ BSB BSB: My heart pounds within me, and the terrors of death assail me.
5 ULB ፍርሃትና እንቅጥቅጥ መጡብኝ ሽብርም በረታብኝ፡፡ BSB BSB: Fear and trembling grip me, and horror has overwhelmed me.
6 ULB እኔም እንዲህ አልሁ፣ «ምነው የርግብ ክንፍ በኖረኝ! በርሬ ሄጄ ዐርፍ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and find rest.
7 ULB እነሆ፣ ኮብልዬ በራቅሁ ነበር በምድረ በዳ በሰነበትሁ ነበር፡፡ ሴላ BSB BSB: How far away I would flee! In the wilderness I would remain. Selah
8 ULB ከዐውሎ ነፋስና ከውሽንፍር ሸሽቼ ወደ መሸሽጊያ ፈጥኜ በደረስሁ ነበር፡፡» BSB BSB: I would hurry to my shelter, far from this raging tempest.”
9 ULB ግፍና ሁከት በከተማዪቱ ዐይቻለሁና ጌታ ሆይ ግራ አጋባቸው፤ ቋንቋቸውንም ደበላልቅ! BSB BSB: O Lord, confuse and confound their speech, for I see violence and strife in the city.
10 ULB ቀንና ሌሊት ቅጥሮቿን ይዞራሉ ተንኰልና መከራ በውስጧ አሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Day and night they encircle the walls, while malice and trouble lie within.
11 ULB ዐመፃ በመካከልዋ ነው፤ ግፍና አታላይነት ከጐዳናዋ አይጠፋም፡፡ BSB BSB: Destruction is within; oppression and deceit never leave the streets.
12 ULB የሰደበኝ ጠላት አይደለም ያማ ቢሆን በታገሥኩ ነበር፤ የሚታበይብኝ፣ ራሱንም ቀና ቀና ያደረገብኝ ባላንጣ አይደለም፤ ያማ ቢሆን፣ ከእርሱ በተሸሸግሁ ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: For it is not an enemy who insults me; that I could endure. It is not a foe who rises against me; from him I could hide.
13 ULB ነገር ግን ያን ያደረግህ አንተ እኩያየ፣ ባልንጀራዬና የቅርብ ወዳጄ ነህ፡፡ BSB BSB: But it is you, a man like myself, my companion and close friend.
14 ULB ደስ የሚል ኅብረት በአንድነት ነበረን በሕዝቡ መካከል በእግዚአብሔር ቤት አብረን ተመላልሰን ነበር፡፡ BSB BSB: We shared sweet fellowship together; we walked with the crowd into the house of God.
15 ULB በድንገት ሞት ይምጣባቸው ክፋት በመካከላቸው ናትና በሕይወታቸው እያሉ ወደ ሲኦል ይወረዱ፡፡ BSB BSB: Let death seize them by surprise; let them go down to Sheol alive, for evil is with them in their homes.
16 ULB እኔ ግን እግዚአብሔርን እጣራለሁ ያህዌም ያድነኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: But I call to God, and the LORD saves me.
17 ULB በማታ፣ በጧትና በቀትር አቃሥታለሁ እቃትታለሁም እርሱም ድምፄን ይሰማል፡፡ BSB BSB: Morning, noon, and night, I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.
18 ULB ከእኔ ጋር የሚዋጉት ብዙ ናቸውና እርሱ፣ ከተከፈተብኝ ጦርነት በሰላም ይታደገኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: He redeems my soul in peace from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.
19 ULB ስለማይለወጡና አምኬንም ስለማይፈሩ ከዘላለም እስከ ዘላለም ዙፋኑ ላይ ያለው እግዚአብሔር ሰምቶ ያዋርዳቸዋል፡፡ ሴላ BSB BSB: God will hear and humiliate them—the One enthroned for the ages—Selah because they do not change and they have no fear of God.
20 ULB ጓደኛዬ የምለው ሰው እጁን በወዳጆቹ ላይ ሰነዘረ፤ ቃል ኪዳኑንም አፈረሰ፡፡ BSB BSB: My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant.
21 ULB አፉ ከቅቤ ይልቅ የለዘበ ነው በልቡ ግን ጦርነት አለ፤ ቃሉ ከዘይት ይልቅ የለሰለሰ ነው ሆኖም የተመዘዘ ሰይፍ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: His speech is smooth as butter, but war is in his heart. His words are softer than oil, yet they are swords unsheathed.
22 ULB የከበድህን ነገር በያህዌ ላይ ጣል እርሱ ደግፎ ይይዝሃል፤ የጻድቁን መናወጥ ከቶ አይፈቅድም፡፡ BSB BSB: Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.
23 ULB አንተ ግን እግዚአብሔር ሆይ፣ ዐመፀኞችን ወደ ጥፋት ጉድጓድ ታወርዳቸዋለህ ደም የተጠሙና አታላዮች የዕድሜያቸውን ግማሽ እንኳ አይኖሩም፡፡ እኔ ግን በአንተ እታመናለሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: But You, O God, will bring them down to the Pit of destruction; men of bloodshed and deceit will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.
