ARST Tie the sashes around Aaron and his sons’ waists and secure the caps on their heads. This is an eternal law: they are the priests. You will authorize them for this. BSB BSB: Wrap the sashes around Aaron and his sons and tie headbands on them. The priesthood shall be theirs by a permanent statute. In this way you are to ordain Aaron and his sons.
ARST Then bring the young bull to the front of the sacred tent. While Aaron and his sons put their hands on the head of the young bull, BSB BSB: You are to present the bull at the front of the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head.
ARST sacrifice the young bull{ by slitting its throat} before Yahweh{ outside} the entrance to the sacred tent{ and catch the blood in a bowl}. BSB BSB: And you shall slaughter the bull before the LORD at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
ARST Take some of that blood with your finger and smear it on the projections of the altar. Pour the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar. 19 ARST Take the other ram. While Aaron and his sons put their hands on its head, BSB BSB: Take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons are to lay their hands on its head.
ARST kill the ram{ by slitting its throat}. Catch the blood. Smear some of the blood on the bottom portion of Aaron’ s and his sons’ right ears, on their right thumbs, and on the big toes on their right feet. BSB BSB: Slaughter the ram, take some of its blood, and put it on the right earlobes of Aaron and his sons, on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet. Splatter the remaining blood on all sides of the altar.
ARST Wipe up some of the blood that is on the altar, mix it with some of the oil for anointing, and sprinkle it on Aaron and his clothes, and on his sons and their clothes. By doing this, you will dedicate them and their clothes to me. BSB BSB: And take some of the blood on the altar and some of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments, as well as on his sons and their garments. Then he and his garments will be consecrated, as well as his sons and their garments.
ARST Also, cut off the ram’ s fat: its fat tail, and the fat that covers the inner organs, the fatty covering of the liver, the two kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh.(This ram is for making holy{ Aaron and his sons, who will be my priests}.) BSB BSB: Take the fat from the ram, the fat tail, the fat covering the entrails, the lobe of the liver, both kidneys with the fat on them, and the right thigh (since this is a ram for ordination),

BSB BSB: Then take them from their hands and burn them on the altar atop the burnt offering as a pleasing aroma before the LORD; it is a food offering to the LORD.
ARST Then take the breast of the ram for making Aaron holy and lift it up high to dedicate it to me. But then this part of the animal will be for you to eat. BSB BSB: Take the breast of the ram of Aaron’s ordination and wave it before the LORD as a wave offering, and it will be your portion.
ARST Set these apart from the ram for making holy{ Aaron and his sons as my priests}: the breast that you lifted high to dedicate to me and the thigh that you presented to me. These are for Aaron and his sons. BSB BSB: Consecrate for Aaron and his sons the breast of the wave offering that is waved and the thigh of the heave offering that is lifted up from the ram of ordination.
ARST This custom will continue forever. Whenever the Israelites bring offerings to show they are friends with me, the breast and the thigh of animals that they present to me will be for Aaron and his male descendants to eat. BSB BSB: This will belong to Aaron and his sons as a regular portion from the Israelites, for it is the heave offering the Israelites will make to the LORD from their peace offerings.
ARST After Aaron{ dies}, the sacred vestments that he wore will belong to his male descendants. They will wear them when{ a leader} anoints them to authorize them to be priests. 33 ARST They will eat these things from the offering that made them holy by covering their sins when they became priests. But no one else can eat these things, because they are reserved for the priests. BSB BSB: They must eat those things by which atonement was made for their ordination and consecration. But no outsider may eat them, because these things are sacred.
ARST If any of the holy meat or bread is left over in the morning, you must completely burn it. Do not eat any of it, because it is sacred. BSB BSB: And if any of the meat of ordination or any bread is left until the morning, you are to burn up the remainder. It must not be eaten, because it is sacred.
ARST Do all this to Aaron and his sons just as I have told you. You will prepare them for seven days. BSB BSB: This is what you are to do for Aaron and his sons based on all that I have commanded you, taking seven days to ordain them.
ARST Sacrifice a{ young} bull to purify{ the altar} each of those days. That will ceremonially cleanse the altar by covering the altar’ s imperfections. You must also pour{ olive oil} over the altar to dedicate it{ to Yahweh}. BSB BSB: Sacrifice a bull as a sin offering each day for atonement. Purify the altar by making atonement for it, and anoint it to consecrate it.
ARST After you cover the altar for seven days you will have made it holy. It will be so very holy that it will make anything that touches it holy too. BSB BSB: For seven days you shall make atonement for the altar and consecrate it. Then the altar will become most holy; whatever touches the altar will be holy.

ARST With the first lamb, also{ offer} two liters of finely ground wheat flour mixed with a liter of the best kind of olive oil, and one liter of wine as a drink- offering. BSB BSB: With the first lamb offer a tenth of an ephah of fine flour, mixed with a quarter hin of oil from pressed olives, and a drink offering of a quarter hin of wine.
ARST In the evening, when you sacrifice the other lamb, offer the same amounts of flour, olive oil, and wine as you did in the morning. This will be an offering to me, Yahweh, that they will burn, and its smell will please me. BSB BSB: And offer the second lamb at twilight with the same grain offering and drink offering as in the morning, as a pleasing aroma, a food offering to the LORD.
ARST You and your descendants must continue making these offerings to me, Yahweh, throughout all future generations. You must offer them at the entrance to the sacred tent. That is where I will meet with you and speak to you. BSB BSB: For the generations to come, this burnt offering shall be made regularly at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet you to speak with you.

ARST I will dedicate the sacred tent and the altar. I will also dedicate Aaron and his sons to be my priests. BSB BSB: So I will consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar, and I will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve Me as priests.
ARST I will live with the Israelites, and I will be their God. BSB BSB: Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.
ARST They will know that I, Yahweh their God, am the one who brought them out of Egypt in order that I might live among them. I am Yahweh, the God whom they worship. BSB BSB: And they will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
