The water was flowing down the south side of the entrance, to the right of the altar. BSB BSB: Then the man brought me back to the entrance of the temple, and I saw water flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). 5 ARST Then he measured off another 540 meters and led me through water that was now a river that I could not cross, because the water was so deep; to continue farther would have required me to swim. BSB BSB: Once again he measured off a thousand cubits, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough for swimming—a river that could not be crossed on foot.
6 ARST Then he asked me,“Son of man, think about this carefully.” Then he led me onto the bank of the river BSB BSB: “Son of man, do you see this?” he asked. Then he led me back to the bank of the river.

11 ARST But the swamps and marshes along the shore will not become fresh; they will be left to make salt. BSB BSB: But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt.
12 ARST Many kinds of fruit trees will grow on both sides of the river. Their leaves will not wither, and they will always have fruit. Their fruit will be good to eat and their leaves will be good for healing.” BSB BSB: Along both banks of the river, fruit trees of all kinds will grow. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. Each month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will be used for food and their leaves for healing.”
