ARST But God never forgot Noah{ and his family} and all the animals, both wild and tame, that{ were} with them in the boat. So he caused a wind to blow over{ the water that was covering} the earth, so that the water{ started to} go down. BSB BSB: But God remembered Noah and all the animals and livestock that were with him in the ark. And God sent a wind over the earth, and the waters began to subside.
ARST { He also caused} the springs in the deep{ ocean} to stop{ gushing out water}, and{ he caused} the water to stop pouring from the sky, so that it stopped raining. BSB BSB: The springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained.
ARST Then the water steadily went down from{ the surface of} the land. After the 150 days{ had passed}, the water had gone down BSB BSB: The waters receded steadily from the earth, and after 150 days the waters had gone down.
ARST so{ much} that on the seventeenth day of the seventh month{ of the year}, the boat came to rest on{ one of} the mountains in the Ararat{ mountain range}. BSB BSB: On the seventeenth day of the seventh month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
ARST The floodwaters continued to go down until on the first{ day} of the tenth month{ of the year}, the peaks of the{ surrounding} mountains became visible{ above the water}. BSB BSB: And the waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.
ARST After forty{ more} days{ had passed}, Noah opened a window in the boat that he had made, BSB BSB: After forty days Noah opened the window he had made in the ark
ARST and he released a raven, which kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up{ more} from the land. BSB BSB: and sent out a raven. It kept flying back and forth until the waters had dried up from the earth.
ARST Meanwhile Noah{ also} released a dove from the boat to find out if the water had gone down from the land. BSB BSB: Then Noah sent out a dove to see if the waters had receded from the surface of the ground.
ARST But water was{ still} covering the entire earth, so the dove did not find anywhere to land and rest. Then it returned to Noah in the boat, and Noah reached out, caught it, and brought it{ back} into the boat. BSB BSB: But the dove found no place to rest her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, because the waters were still covering the surface of all the earth. So he reached out his hand and brought her back inside the ark.
ARST Noah waited seven more days, then he released the dove from the boat again. BSB BSB: Noah waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark.
ARST That evening the dove returned to him, and he saw that{ it had} a fresh green olive{ tree} leaf in its beak! That is how Noah realized that the water had gone down{ further} from the land. BSB BSB: And behold, the dove returned to him in the evening with a freshly plucked olive leaf in her beak. So Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.
ARST Then he waited seven more days and he released the dove{ again}, but{ this time} it did not come back to him again. BSB BSB: And Noah waited seven more days and sent out the dove again, but this time she did not return to him.
ARST So it was, when{ Noah was} 601 years old, on the first{ day} of the first month{ of the year}, the water had{ almost} dried up from the land. So Noah took off{ part of} the roof of the boat and looked{ around}, and he saw that{ much of} the land’ s surface was{ almost} dry. BSB BSB: In Noah’s six hundred and first year, on the first day of the first month, the waters had dried up from the earth. So Noah removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry.
ARST Then by the twenty- seventh day of the second month{ of the year}, the land had dried off. BSB BSB: By the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was fully dry.
ARST Then God commanded Noah, BSB BSB: Then God said to Noah,
ARST “Come out of the boat, together with your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives. BSB BSB: “Come out of the ark, you and your wife, along with your sons and their wives.
ARST Bring out all the animals that{ are} with you, all of them, including the birds, tame animals, and every{ other} animal that moves on land. Then they can live all over the earth;{ yes,} they will have many young and increase{ in number}{ all} over the earth.” BSB BSB: Bring out all the living creatures that are with you—birds, livestock, and everything that crawls upon the ground—so that they can spread out over the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon it.”
ARST So Noah came out{ of the boat}, along with his wife and his sons and their wives. BSB BSB: So Noah came out, along with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.
ARST All the animals,{ including} all the animals that crawl and all the birds{ and} everything{ else} that lives on land,{ also} came out of the boat in groups of their own kind. 8:20-9:17 BSB BSB: Every living creature, every creeping thing, and every bird—everything that moves upon the earth—came out of the ark, kind by kind.
ARST Then Noah made an altar{ out of large stones}{ to offer sacrifices} to Yahweh. Next he chose{ some} of every{ kind of} animal and bird that is acceptable to sacrifice, and he{ killed them and} burned{ their bodies} on the altar as an offering{ to Yahweh}{ to worship him}. BSB BSB: Then Noah built an altar to the LORD. And taking from every kind of clean animal and clean bird, he offered burnt offerings on the altar.
ARST Yahweh smelled the aroma{ of the offerings} and was pleased, and he thought to himself,“Never again will I curse the ground because of mankind{’ s sins},{ even} though everything they desire and think about{ is} evil from the time they are children. And never again will I destroy all living{ creatures} the way I{ just} did. BSB BSB: When the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, He said in His heart, “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from his youth. And never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done.
ARST As long as the earth{ still} exists,{ each year} there will always be a season to plant seeds and a season to harvest{ crops}, as well as cold weather and hot weather, summer and winter, and day and night.” BSB BSB: As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night shall never cease.”
