1 ARST How fortunate are those about whom no one can say truthfully that they have done things that are wrong, those who always obey the laws of Yahweh. BSB BSB: Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Law of the LORD.
2 ARST How fortunate are those who obey his weighty commands, those who request him with their entire inner beings to help them to do that. BSB BSB: Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with all their heart.
3 ARST They do not do things that are wrong; they behave as Yahweh wants them to. BSB BSB: They do no iniquity; they walk in His ways.
4 ARST Yahweh, you have given us your principles of behavior, and you told us to obey them faithfully. BSB BSB: You have ordained Your precepts, that we should keep them diligently.
5 ARST I want so much to faithfully keep everything that you command. BSB BSB: Oh, that my ways were committed to keeping Your statutes!
6 ARST If I did that, I would not be ashamed when I thought about your commands. BSB BSB: Then I would not be ashamed when I consider all Your commandments.
7 ARST When I learn all of your just regulations, I will praise you with a pure inner being. BSB BSB: I will praise You with an upright heart when I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 ARST I will obey all your statutes; do not desert me! BETH BSB BSB: I will keep Your statutes; do not utterly forsake me.
9 ARST I know how a young person can live in a pure way; it is by obeying your commands. BSB BSB: How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to Your word.
10 ARST I try to serve you with my entire inner being; do not allow me to wander away from what you have commanded. BSB BSB: With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me stray from Your commandments.
11 ARST I have memorized your commands so that I will not sin against you. BSB BSB: I have hidden Your word in my heart that I might not sin against You.
12 ARST Yahweh, I praise you; teach me your statutes. BSB BSB: Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.
13 ARST I have announced to the people all the things that you have commanded us to do. BSB BSB: With my lips I proclaim all the judgments of Your mouth.
14 ARST I delight in obeying your requirements; I enjoy that more than being very rich. BSB BSB: I rejoice in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches.
15 ARST I will study everything you have commanded, and I will pay attention to how you have shown me to live. BSB BSB: I will meditate on Your precepts and regard Your ways.
16 ARST I will be happy to obey your statutes, and I will not forget your words. GIMEL BSB BSB: I will delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
17 ARST Do good things for me, the one who serves you, so that I may continue to live and obey your words during all my life. BSB BSB: Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word.
18 ARST Help me to understand with my mind, to know the wonderful things that are written in your laws. BSB BSB: Open my eyes that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
19 ARST I am living here on the earth for only a short time; do not keep me from understanding. BSB BSB: I am a stranger on the earth; do not hide Your commandments from me.
20 ARST In my inner being I strongly desire to know your decrees all the time. BSB BSB: My soul is consumed with longing for Your judgments at all times.
21 ARST You rebuke those who are proud; you curse those who disobey your commands. BSB BSB: You rebuke the arrogant—the cursed who stray from Your commandments.
22 ARST Do not allow them to continue to insult and scorn me; I request this because I have obeyed your requirements. BSB BSB: Remove my scorn and contempt, for I have kept Your testimonies.
23 ARST Rulers gather together and plan ways to harm me, but I will meditate on what you have commanded. BSB BSB: Though rulers sit and slander me, Your servant meditates on Your statutes.
24 ARST I am delighted with your requirements; it is as though they were my advisors. DALETH BSB BSB: Your testimonies are indeed my delight; they are my counselors.
25 ARST I think that I will soon die; save my life as you have promised me that you would. BSB BSB: My soul cleaves to the dust; revive me according to Your word.
26 ARST When I told you about all the things I did, you answered me; teach me your statutes. BSB BSB: I recounted my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes.
27 ARST Help me to understand how you want me to behave, and then I will meditate on your amazing instructions. BSB BSB: Make clear to me the way of Your precepts; then I will meditate on Your wonders.
28 ARST I am very sad, with the result that I have no strength; enable me to be strong again as you promised me that you would do. BSB BSB: My soul melts with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your word.
29 ARST Prevent me from telling lies, and be kind to me by teaching me your laws. BSB BSB: Remove me from the path of deceit and graciously grant me Your law.
30 ARST I have decided that I will faithfully obey you; I am determined to follow your commands. BSB BSB: I have chosen the way of truth; I have set Your ordinances before me.
31 ARST Yahweh, I try to carefully cling to your requirements; do not abandon me or let me be disgraced. BSB BSB: I cling to Your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame.
32 ARST I will eagerly obey your commands because you have helped me understand better and better what you want me to do. HE BSB BSB: I run in the path of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart.
33 ARST Yahweh, teach me the meaning of your statutes, and then I will completely obey them. BSB BSB: Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep them to the end.
34 ARST Help me to understand your laws so that I may obey them with all my inner being. BSB BSB: Give me understanding that I may obey Your law, and follow it with all my heart.
35 ARST I am happy with your commands, so lead me along the paths that you have chosen for me. BSB BSB: Direct me in the path of Your commandments, for there I find delight.
36 ARST Cause me to want to do what you command and not to want to become rich. BSB BSB: Turn my heart to Your testimonies and not to covetous gain.
37 ARST Do not allow me to look at things that are worthless; make me able to live as you want me to live. BSB BSB: Turn my eyes away from worthless things; revive me with Your word.
38 ARST Because I am one who serves you, do what you promised to do for me, which is what you also promise to do for all those who honor you. BSB BSB: Establish Your word to Your servant, to produce reverence for You.
39 ARST I become afraid when my enemies insult me; stop them! But you are right when you punish my enemies. BSB BSB: Turn away the disgrace I dread, for Your judgments are good.
40 ARST I very much desire to obey your principles of behavior; because you are righteous, allow me to continue to live. WAW BSB BSB: How I long for Your precepts! Revive me in Your righteousness.
41 ARST Yahweh, show me that you faithfully love me, and rescue me as you promised you would. BSB BSB: May Your loving devotion come to me, O LORD, Your salvation, according to Your promise.
42 ARST After you do that, I will be able to reply to those who insult me because I trust in your word. BSB BSB: Then I can answer him who taunts, for I trust in Your word.
43 ARST Never prevent me from speaking your truth because I have confidence in your regulations. BSB BSB: Never take Your word of truth from my mouth, for I hope in Your judgments.
44 ARST I will always obey your laws forever and ever. BSB BSB: I will always obey Your law, forever and ever.
45 ARST I will always be safe because I have tried to obey your principles of behavior. BSB BSB: And I will walk in freedom, for I have sought Your precepts.
46 ARST I will tell to kings what you require, and because they are unable to prove me wrong, they will not cause me to be ashamed. BSB BSB: I will speak of Your testimonies before kings, and I will not be ashamed.
47 ARST I am delighted to obey your commands, and I love them. BSB BSB: I delight in Your commandments because I love them.
48 ARST I respect your commandments, and I love them; I will meditate on everything you require us to do. ZAYIN BSB BSB: I lift up my hands to Your commandments, which I love, and I meditate on Your statutes.
49 ARST Do not forget what you said you would do for me, the one who serves you, because what you have said has caused me to confidently expect good things from you. BSB BSB: Remember Your word to Your servant, upon which You have given me hope.
50 ARST When I have been suffering, you comforted me; you did what you promised me, and that kept me alive. BSB BSB: This is my comfort in affliction, that Your promise has given me life.
51 ARST Proud people are always making fun of me, but I do not turn away from obeying your laws. BSB BSB: The arrogant utterly deride me, but I do not turn from Your law.
52 ARST Yahweh, when I think about your regulations that you gave to us long ago, I am comforted. BSB BSB: I remember Your judgments of old, O LORD, and in them I find comfort.
53 ARST When I see wicked people disregard your laws, I become very angry. BSB BSB: Rage has taken hold of me because of the wicked who reject Your law.
54 ARST While I have been living here on the earth for a short time, I have written songs about your statutes. BSB BSB: Your statutes are songs to me in the house of my pilgrimage.
55 ARST Yahweh, during the night I think about you, and so I obey your laws. BSB BSB: In the night, O LORD, I remember Your name, that I may keep Your law.
56 ARST What I have always done is to obey your principles of behavior. HETH BSB BSB: This is my practice, for I obey Your precepts.
57 ARST Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and I promise to obey your words. BSB BSB: The LORD is my portion; I have promised to keep Your words.
58 ARST With all my inner being I plead with you to be good to me; act kindly to me as you promised that you would do. BSB BSB: I have sought Your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to Your promise.

62 ARST In the middle of the night I awake, and I praise you for your commands because they are fair. BSB BSB: At midnight I rise to give You thanks for Your righteous judgments.
63 ARST I am a friend of all those who have an awesome respect for you, those who obey your principles of behavior. BSB BSB: I am a friend to all who fear You, and to those who keep Your precepts.
64 ARST Yahweh, you faithfully love people all over the earth; teach me your statutes. TETH BSB BSB: The earth is filled with Your loving devotion, O LORD; teach me Your statutes.
65 ARST Yahweh, you have done good things for me as you promised that you would do. BSB BSB: You are good to Your servant, O LORD, according to Your word.
66 ARST Teach me to think carefully before I decide what to do, and teach me other things that I need to know because I believe that it is right for us to obey your commands. BSB BSB: Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.
67 ARST Before you afflicted me, I did things that were wrong, but now I obey your words. BSB BSB: Before I was afflicted, I went astray; but now I keep Your word.
68 ARST You are very good, and what you do is good; teach me your statutes. BSB BSB: You are good, and You do what is good; teach me Your statutes.
69 ARST Proud people have told many lies about me, but as for me, I obey your principles of behavior. BSB BSB: Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep Your precepts with all my heart.
70 ARST Those people are stubborn, but as for me, I am delighted with your laws. BSB BSB: Their hearts are callous and insensitive, but I delight in Your law.
71 ARST It was good for me that you afflicted me because the result was that I learned your statutes. BSB BSB: It was good for me to be afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.
72 ARST The laws that you give to us are worth more to me than gold, more than thousands of pieces of gold and silver. YODH BSB BSB: The law from Your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver.
73 ARST You created me and formed my body; help me to be wise so that I may learn your commands. BSB BSB: Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn Your commandments.
74 ARST Those who have an awesome respect for you will see what you have done for me, because they have confidence in the promises of your word. BSB BSB: May those who fear You see me and rejoice, for I have hoped in Your word.
75 ARST Yahweh, I know that your regulations are right and that you have made me suffer because you love me without end. BSB BSB: I know, O LORD, that Your judgments are righteous, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

78 ARST Cause the proud people who falsely accuse me to be shamed; but as for me, I will continue meditating on what you have commanded I should do. BSB BSB: May the arrogant be put to shame for subverting me with a lie; I will meditate on Your precepts.
79 ARST Cause those who have an awesome respect for you to come back to me so that they may learn what you command. BSB BSB: May those who fear You turn to me, those who know Your testimonies.
80 ARST Enable me to perfectly obey your statutes so that I may not be ashamed because of not doing that. KAPH BSB BSB: May my heart be blameless in Your statutes, that I may not be put to shame.
81 ARST I am waiting for you to save me from my enemies; I confidently expect that you will tell me what you will do. BSB BSB: My soul faints for Your salvation; I wait for Your word.

83 ARST I have become as useless as a wineskin that is shriveled from hanging a long time in the smoke inside a house, but I have not forgotten your statutes. BSB BSB: Though I am like a wineskin dried up by smoke, I do not forget Your statutes.
84 ARST How long must I wait? When will you punish those who persecute me? BSB BSB: How many days must Your servant wait? When will You execute judgment on my persecutors?
85 ARST It is as though proud people, those who do not obey your laws, have dug deep pits for me to fall into. BSB BSB: The arrogant have dug pits for me in violation of Your law.
86 ARST All your commands are trustworthy; but people are persecuting me by telling lies about me, so please help me. BSB BSB: All Your commandments are faithful; I am persecuted without cause—help me!
87 ARST Those people almost killed me, but I have not stopped obeying your principles of behavior. BSB BSB: They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken Your precepts.
88 ARST Because you faithfully love me, allow me to continue to live so that I may continue to obey your requirements that you have spoken. LAMEDH BSB BSB: Revive me according to Your loving devotion, that I may obey the testimony of Your mouth.

118 ARST You reject all those who disobey your statutes; because they make deceitful plans and they do not keep their word. BSB BSB: You reject all who stray from Your statutes, for their deceitfulness is in vain.
119 ARST You get rid of all the wicked people on the earth as people get rid of trash; therefore I love your requirements. BSB BSB: All the wicked on earth You discard like dross; therefore I love Your testimonies.
120 ARST I tremble because I am afraid of you; I am afraid because you punish those who do not obey your regulations. AYIN BSB BSB: My flesh trembles in awe of You; I stand in fear of Your judgments.
121 ARST But I have done what is right and fair; so do not allow people to oppress me. BSB BSB: I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors.
122 ARST Be responsible for doing good things for me, and do not allow proud people to oppress me. BSB BSB: Ensure Your servant’s well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
123 ARST My eyes are tired from waiting a long time for you to rescue me, for you to save me as you promised that you would. BSB BSB: My eyes fail, looking for Your salvation, and for Your righteous promise.
124 ARST Do something for me to show that you faithfully love me, and teach me your statutes. BSB BSB: Deal with Your servant according to Your loving devotion, and teach me Your statutes.
125 ARST I am one who serves you; enable me to understand what you want me to know so that I may learn your requirements. BSB BSB: I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.
126 ARST Yahweh, now is the time for you to punish people because they have disobeyed your laws. BSB BSB: It is time for the LORD to act, for they have broken Your law.
127 ARST Truly, I love your commands more than I love gold; I love them more than I love very pure gold. BSB BSB: Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, even the purest gold.
128 ARST So I conduct my life by your principles of behavior, and I hate all the evil things that some people do. PE BSB BSB: Therefore I admire all Your precepts and hate every false way.
129 ARST Your requirements are wonderful, so I obey them with all my inner being. BSB BSB: Wonderful are Your testimonies; therefore I obey them.
130 ARST When someone explains your words, it is as though they are lighting a light; what they say causes even people who have not learned your laws to be wise. BSB BSB: The unfolding of Your words gives light; it informs the simple.
131 ARST I eagerly desire to know your commands as a dog pants with its mouth open, wanting to be fed. BSB BSB: I open my mouth and pant, longing for Your commandments.
132 ARST Listen to me and act kindly to me as you do to all those who love you. BSB BSB: Turn to me and show me mercy, as You do to those who love Your name.
133 ARST Guide me as you promised; do not allow evil people to control what I do. BSB BSB: Order my steps in Your word; let no sin rule over me.
134 ARST Rescue me from those who oppress me so that I may obey your principles of behavior. BSB BSB: Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts.
135 ARST Act kindly toward me and teach me your statutes. BSB BSB: Make Your face shine upon Your servant, and teach me Your statutes.
136 ARST I cry very much because many people do not obey your laws. TSADHE BSB BSB: My eyes shed streams of tears because Your law is not obeyed.
137 ARST Yahweh, you are righteous and your regulations are just. BSB BSB: Righteous are You, O LORD, and upright are Your judgments.
138 ARST You did what was right when you gave us the laws of your covenant promise, and you can be trusted when you made those promises to us. BSB BSB: The testimonies You have laid down are righteous and altogether faithful.
139 ARST I am furious because my enemies disregard your words. BSB BSB: My zeal has consumed me because my foes forget Your words.
140 ARST I have found that your promises are dependable, and I love them. BSB BSB: Your promise is completely pure; therefore Your servant loves it.
141 ARST I am not important, and people despise me, but I do not forget your principles of behavior. BSB BSB: I am lowly and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts.
142 ARST You are righteous and you will be righteous forever, and your laws will never be changed. BSB BSB: Your righteousness is everlasting and Your law is true.
143 ARST I constantly have troubles and I am worried, but your commands cause me to be happy. BSB BSB: Trouble and distress have found me, but Your commandments are my delight.
144 ARST Your requirements are always fair; help me to understand them so that I may continue to live. QOPH BSB BSB: Your testimonies are righteous forever. Give me understanding, that I may live.
145 ARST Yahweh, with all my inner being I call out to you; answer me and I will obey your statutes. BSB BSB: I call with all my heart; answer me, O LORD! I will obey Your statutes.

147 ARST Each morning I arise before dawn and call to you to help me; I confidently expect you to do what you have promised. BSB BSB: I rise before dawn and cry for help; in Your word I have put my hope.
148 ARST All during the night I am awake, and I meditate on your commands and your promises. BSB BSB: My eyes anticipate the watches of night, that I may meditate on Your word.
149 ARST Yahweh, because you faithfully love me, listen to me while I pray; keep me safe because I keep your regulations. BSB BSB: Hear my voice, O LORD, according to Your loving devotion; give me life according to Your justice.
150 ARST Those evil people who oppress me are coming closer to me; they do not pay any attention to your laws. BSB BSB: Those who follow after wickedness draw near; they are far from Your law.
151 ARST But Yahweh, you are near to me, and I know that your commands will never be changed. BSB BSB: You are near, O LORD, and all Your commandments are true.
152 ARST Long ago I found out about your requirements, and I know that you intended them to last forever. RESH BSB BSB: Long ago I learned from Your testimonies that You have established them forever.
153 ARST Look at me, see that I am suffering very much, and heal me because I do not forget your laws. BSB BSB: Look upon my affliction and rescue me, for I have not forgotten Your law.
154 ARST Defend me when others accuse me and rescue me from them; allow me to continue to live as you promised that you would. BSB BSB: Defend my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.
155 ARST Wicked people do not obey your statutes, so you will certainly not save them. BSB BSB: Salvation is far from the wicked because they do not seek Your statutes.
156 ARST Yahweh, you have been merciful by helping me in many ways; allow me to continue to live as you have done until now. BSB BSB: Great are Your mercies, O LORD; revive me according to Your ordinances.
157 ARST Many people are my enemies; many people cause me to suffer, but I do not neglect your commands. BSB BSB: Though my persecutors and foes are many, I have not turned from Your testimonies.
158 ARST When I look at those who are not faithful to you, I am disgusted because they do not obey your requirements. BSB BSB: I look on the faithless with loathing because they do not keep Your word.
