Psalm 127 127 Psalms Book 5 Arabic Simplified Text 1 ARST If people are building a house without Yahweh helping them, they are building it in vain. Similarly, if Yahweh does not protect a city, it is useless for guards to stay awake at night. BSB BSB: A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain; unless the LORD protects the city, its watchmen stand guard in vain.
ARST It is also useless to arise very early and go to sleep late at night so that you can work hard all day to earn money to buy food because Yahweh gives food to those whom he loves even while they sleep. BSB BSB: In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for bread to eat—for He gives sleep to His beloved.
ARST Children are a gift that comes to parents from Yahweh; they are a reward from him. BSB BSB: Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.
ARST If a man has sons while he is still young, when they grow up, they will be able to help him defend his family as a soldier can defend himself if he has a bow and arrows in his hand. BSB BSB: Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are children born in one’s youth.
ARST How fortunate is a man who has many sons; he is like a soldier who has many arrows in his quiver. If a man with his many grown sons is taken by his enemies to the place where they decide matters, his enemies will never be able to defeat that man because his sons will help to defend him. BSB BSB: Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. He will not be put to shame when he confronts the enemies at the gate.
