Psalm 16 16 Psalms Book 1 Arabic Simplified Text 1 ARST God, protect me because I go to you to keep me safe! BSB BSB: A Miktam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I take refuge.
2 ARST I said to Yahweh,“You are my Lord; all the good things that I have come from you.” BSB BSB: I said to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing.”
3 ARST People who try to be holy who live in this land are wonderful; I delight to be with them. BSB BSB: As for the saints in the land, they are the excellence in whom all my delight resides.
4 ARST Those who choose to worship other gods will have many things that cause them to be sad. I will not join them when they make sacrifices to their gods; I will not even join them in speaking the names of their gods. BSB BSB: Sorrows will multiply to those who chase other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood, or speak their names with my lips.
5 ARST Yahweh, you are the one whom I have chosen, and you give me great blessings. You protect me and control what happens to me. BSB BSB: The LORD is my chosen portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.
6 ARST Yahweh has given me a wonderful place in which to live; I am delighted with all the things that he has given me. BSB BSB: The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.
7 ARST I will praise Yahweh, the one who teaches me; even at night he tells my heart what is right for me to do. BSB BSB: I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me.
8 ARST I know that Yahweh is always with me. Nothing will take me from his side. BSB BSB: I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
9 ARST Therefore I am glad; I am honored to praise him, and I can rest securely BSB BSB: Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will dwell securely.
10 ARST because you, Yahweh, will not allow me to remain in the place where the dead people are, and you will not allow me, someone who has been faithful to the covenant, to stay there. BSB BSB: For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, nor will You let Your Holy One see decay.
11 ARST You will show me the road that leads to where I receive eternal life, and you will make me joyful when I am with you. I will have pleasure forever when I am at your right hand. BSB BSB: You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
