1 ARST You righteous people should shout joyfully to Yahweh because that is what he deserves. BSB BSB: Rejoice in the LORD, O righteous ones; it is fitting for the upright to praise Him.
2 ARST Praise Yahweh as you play songs on the harp. Praise him as you play harps that have ten strings. BSB BSB: Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to Him with ten strings.
3 ARST Sing a new song to him; play those instruments well, and shout joyfully as you play them. BSB BSB: Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.
4 ARST Yahweh always does what he says that he will do; we can trust that everything that he does is right. BSB BSB: For the word of the LORD is upright, and all His work is trustworthy.
5 ARST He loves everything that we do that is just and right. Yahweh helps people all over the earth because he always loves them. BSB BSB: The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His loving devotion.
6 ARST Yahweh created everything in the sky by commanding it. By what he commanded, he created all the stars. BSB BSB: By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and all the stars by the breath of His mouth.
7 ARST He gathered all the water into one huge mass like someone scoops liquid into a container. BSB BSB: He piles up the waters of the sea; He puts the depths into storehouses.
8 ARST Everyone on the earth should honor Yahweh; everyone on the earth should honor him. BSB BSB: Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere Him.
9 ARST When he spoke, he created the world. Everything started to exist when he commanded it to be. BSB BSB: For He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.
10 ARST Yahweh stops the other nations from doing the things they want to do. He prevents them from doing the evil things that they plan to do. BSB BSB: The LORD frustrates the plans of the nations; He thwarts the devices of the peoples.
11 ARST But what Yahweh decides to do will last forever. What he plans to do will never change. BSB BSB: The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the purposes of His heart to all generations.
12 ARST Yahweh blesses our nation, we who worship him; How fortunate are we, the nation that belongs to him forever! BSB BSB: Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His inheritance!
13 ARST Yahweh looks down from heaven and sees all people. BSB BSB: The LORD looks down from heaven; He sees all the sons of men.
14 ARST From where he rules, he looks down on all the people who live on the earth. BSB BSB: From His dwelling place He gazes on all who inhabit the earth.
15 ARST He forms our inner beings, and he sees everything that we do. BSB BSB: He shapes the hearts of each; He considers all their works.
16 ARST It is not because a king has a great army that he is able to win battles, and it is not because a soldier is very strong that he is able to defeat his enemy. BSB BSB: No king is saved by his vast army; no warrior is delivered by his great strength.
17 ARST It is foolish to think that because horses are very strong, they will be able to win a battle and save their riders. BSB BSB: A horse is a vain hope for salvation; even its great strength cannot save.
18 ARST Do not forget that Yahweh watches over those who honor him, those who confidently expect him to faithfully love them. BSB BSB: Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion
19 ARST He saves them from dying before they should die; he preserves them when there is a famine. BSB BSB: to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20 ARST We trust Yahweh to help us; he protects us as a shield protects a soldier. BSB BSB: Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
21 ARST We rejoice because of what he has done for us; we trust in him because he is holy. BSB BSB: For our hearts rejoice in Him, since we trust in His holy name.
22 ARST Yahweh, we pray that you will always faithfully love us while we confidently expect you to do great things for us. BSB BSB: May Your loving devotion rest on us, O LORD, as we put our hope in You.
