1 ARST Yahweh, listen to what I say and answer me because I am weak and needy. BSB BSB: A prayer of David. Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
2 ARST Prevent me from dying now because I am loyal to you; save me because I serve you and I trust in you, my God. BSB BSB: Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You are my God; save Your servant who trusts in You.
3 ARST Lord, act kindly toward me because I cry out to you all during each day. BSB BSB: Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I call to You all day long.
4 ARST Lord, cause me to be glad, because I pray to you. BSB BSB: Bring joy to Your servant, for to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
5 ARST Lord, you are good to us, and you forgive us; you faithfully love very much all those who pray to you. BSB BSB: For You, O Lord, are kind and forgiving, rich in loving devotion to all who call on You.
6 ARST Yahweh, listen to my prayer; hear me when I cry out to you to help me. BSB BSB: Hear my prayer, O LORD, and attend to my plea for mercy.
7 ARST When I have troubles, I call out to you because you answer me. BSB BSB: In the day of my distress I call on You, because You answer me.
8 ARST Lord, among all the gods whom the heathen nations worship, there is no one like you; not one of them has done the great things that you have done. BSB BSB: O Lord, there is none like You among the gods, nor any works like Yours.
9 ARST Lord, someday people from all the nations that you have established will come and bow down in front of you, and they will praise you. BSB BSB: All the nations You have made will come and bow before You, O Lord, and they will glorify Your name.
10 ARST You are great, and you do wonderful things; only you are God. BSB BSB: For You are great and perform wonders; You alone are God.
11 ARST Yahweh, teach me what you want me to do so that I may conduct my life according to what you say, all of which is right. Cause me to have an awesome respect for you with all my inner being. BSB BSB: Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth. Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name.
12 ARST Lord, my God, I will thank you with all my inner being, and I will praise you forever. BSB BSB: I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify Your name forever.
13 ARST You faithfully love me very much as you have promised; you have prevented me from dying and going to the place where dead people are. BSB BSB: For great is Your loving devotion to me; You have delivered me from the depths of Sheol.
14 ARST But God, proud men are trying to attack me; a gang of cruel men are wanting to kill me; they are men who do not have any respect for you. BSB BSB: The arrogant rise against me, O God; a band of ruthless men seeks my life; they have no regard for You.
15 ARST But Lord, you always act mercifully and kindly; you do not become angry quickly; you faithfully love us very much and always do for us what you have promised to do. BSB BSB: But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in loving devotion and faithfulness.
16 ARST Look down toward me and act mercifully to me; cause me to be strong and save me, the one who serves you faithfully as my mother did. BSB BSB: Turn to me and have mercy; grant Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your maidservant.
17 ARST Yahweh, do something to show me that you are being good to me so that those who hate me will see that you have encouraged me and helped me; as a result, they will be ashamed. BSB BSB: Show me a sign of Your goodness, that my enemies may see and be ashamed; for You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.
