1. 1NAVنَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ الْبَدَايَةِ بِخُصُوصِ كَلِمَةِ الْحَيَاةِ: عَمَّا سَمِعْنَاهُ، وَرَأَيْنَاهُ بِعُيُونِنَا، وَشَاهَدْنَاهُ، وَلَمَسْنَاهُ بِأَيْدِينَا.BSBBSB: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have gazed upon and touched with our own hands—this is the Word of life.
2. 2NAVفَإِنَّ «الْحَيَاةَ» تَجَلَّتْ أَمَامَنَا. وَبَعْدَمَا رَأَيْنَاهَا فِعْلاً، نَشْهَدُ لَهَا الآنَ. وَهَا نَحْنُ نَنْقُلُ إِلَيْكُمْ خَبَرَ هذِهِ الْحَيَاةِ الأَبَدِيَّةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عِنْدَ الآبِ ثُمَّ تَجَلَّتْ أَمَامَنَا!BSBBSB: And this is the life that was revealed; we have seen it and testified to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us.
3. 3NAVفَنَحْنُ، إِذَنْ، نُخْبِرُكُمْ بِمَا رَأَيْنَاهُ وَسَمِعْنَاهُ، لِكَيْ تَكُونُوا شُرَكَاءَنَا. كَمَا أَنَّ شَرِكَتَنَا هِيَ مَعَ الآبِ وَمَعَ ابْنِهِ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.BSBBSB: We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
4. 4NAVوَنَكْتُبُ إِلَيْكُمْ هذِهِ الأُمُورَ لِكَيْ يَكْتَمِلَ فَرَحُكُمْ!BSBBSB: We write these things so that our joy may be complete.
5. 5NAVوَهَذَا هُوَ الْخَبَرُ الَّذِي سَمِعْنَاهُ مِنَ الْمَسِيحِ وَنُعْلِنُهُ لَكُمْ: إِنَّ اللهَ نُورٌ، وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ ظَلامٌ الْبَتَّةَ.BSBBSB: And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
6. 6NAVفَإِنْ كُنَّا نَدَّعِي أَنَّ لَنَا شَرِكَةً مَعَهُ، وَنَحْنُ نَعِيشُ فِي الظَّلامِ، نَكُونُ كَاذِبِينَ وَلا نُمَارِسُ الْحَقَّ.BSBBSB: If we say we have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.
7. 7NAVوَلكِنْ، إِنْ كُنَّا فِعْلاً نَعِيشُ فِي النُّورِ، كَمَا هُوَ فِي النُّورِ، تَكُونُ لَنَا حَقّاً شَرِكَةٌ بَعْضِنَا مَعَ بَعْضٍ، وَدَمُ ابْنِهِ يَسُوعَ يُطَهِّرُنَا مِنْ كُلِّ خَطِيئَةٍ.BSBBSB: But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8. 8NAVإِنْ كُنَّا نَدَّعِي أَنْ لَا خَطِيئَةَ لَنَا، نَخْدَعُ أَنْفُسَنَا، وَلا يَكُونُ الْحَقُّ فِي دَاخِلِنَا.BSBBSB: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9. 9NAVوَلكِنْ، إِنِ اعْتَرَفْنَا بِخَطَايَانَا، فَهُوَ جَدِيرٌ بِالثِّقَةِ وَعَادِلٌ، يَغْفِرُ لَنَا خَطَايَانَا وَيُطَهِّرُنَا مِنْ كُلِّ إِثْمٍ.BSBBSB: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10. 10NAVفَإِنْ كُنَّا نَدَّعِي أَنَّنَا لَمْ نَرْتَكِبْ خَطِيئَةً، نَجْعَلُ اللهَ كَاذِباً، وَلا تَكُونُ كَلِمَتُهُ فِي دَاخِلِنَا!BSBBSB: If we say we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar, and His word is not in us.
