1 GLT فَتَقَوَّ أَنْتَ يَا ٱبْنِي بِٱلنِّعْمَةِ ٱلَّتِي فِي ٱلْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ. BSB BSB: You therefore, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 GLT وَمَا سَمِعْتَهُ مِنِّي بِشُهُودٍ كَثِيرِينَ، أَوْدِعْهُ أُنَاسًا أُمَنَاءَ، يَكُونُونَ أَكْفَاءً أَنْ يُعَلِّمُوا آخَرِينَ أَيْضًا. BSB BSB: And the things that you have heard me say among many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be qualified to teach others as well.
3 GLT فَٱشْتَرِكْ أَنْتَ فِي ٱحْتِمَالِ ٱلْمَشَقَّاتِ كَجُنْدِيٍّ صَالِحٍ لِيَسُوعَ ٱلْمَسِيحِ. BSB BSB: Join me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 GLT لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ وَهُوَ يَتَجَنَّدُ يَرْتَبِكُ بِأَعْمَالِ ٱلْحَيَاةِ لِكَيْ يُرْضِيَ مَنْ جَنَّدَهُ. BSB BSB: A soldier refrains from entangling himself in civilian affairs, in order to please the one who enlisted him.
5 GLT وَأَيْضًا إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ يُجَاهِدُ، لَا يُكَلَّلُ إِنْ لَمْ يُجَاهِدْ قَانُونِيًّا. BSB BSB: Likewise, a competitor does not receive the crown unless he competes according to the rules.
6 GLT يَجِبُ أَنَّ ٱلْحَرَّاثَ ٱلَّذِي يَتْعَبُ، يَشْتَرِكُ هُوَ أَوَّلًا فِي ٱلْأَثْمَارِ. BSB BSB: The hardworking farmer should be the first to partake of the crops.
7 GLT ٱفْهَمْ مَا أَقُولُ. فَلْيُعْطِكَ ٱلرَّبُّ فَهْمًا فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. BSB BSB: Consider what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all things.
8 GLT اُذْكُرْ يَسُوعَ ٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱلْمُقَامَ مِنَ ٱلْأَمْوَاتِ، مِنْ نَسْلِ دَاوُدَ بِحَسَبِ إِنْجِيلِي، BSB BSB: Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David, as proclaimed by my gospel,
9 GLT ٱلَّذِي فِيهِ أَحْتَمِلُ ٱلْمَشَقَّاتِ حَتَّى ٱلْقُيُودَ كَمُذْنِبٍ. لَكِنَّ كَلِمَةَ ٱللهِ لَا تُقَيَّدُ. BSB BSB: for which I suffer to the extent of being chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained!
10 GLT لِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ أَنَا أَصْبِرُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ لِأَجْلِ ٱلْمُخْتَارِينَ، لِكَيْ يَحْصُلُوا هُمْ أَيْضًا عَلَى ٱلْخَلَاصِ ٱلَّذِي فِي ٱلْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، مَعَ مَجْدٍ أَبَدِيٍّ. BSB BSB: For this reason I endure all things for the sake of the elect, so that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 GLT صَادِقَةٌ هِيَ ٱلْكَلِمَةُ: أَنَّهُ إِنْ كُنَّا قَدْ مُتْنَا مَعَهُ فَسَنَحْيَا أَيْضًا مَعَهُ. BSB BSB: This is a trustworthy saying: If we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
12 GLT إِنْ كُنَّا نَصْبِرُ فَسَنَمْلِكُ أَيْضًا مَعَهُ. إِنْ كُنَّا نُنْكِرُهُ فَهُوَ أَيْضًا سَيُنْكِرُنَا. BSB BSB: if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He will also deny us;
13 GLT إِنْ كُنَّا غَيْرَ أُمَنَاءَ فَهُوَ يَبْقَى أَمِينًا، لَنْ يَقْدِرَ أَنْ يُنْكِرَ نَفْسَهُ. BSB BSB: if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
14 GLT فَكِّرْ بِهَذِهِ ٱلْأُمُورِ، مُنَاشِدًا قُدَّامَ ٱلرَّبِّ أَنْ لَا يَتَمَاحَكُوا بِٱلْكَلَامِ. ٱلْأَمْرُ غَيْرُ ٱلنَّافِعِ لِشَيْءٍ، لِهَدْمِ ٱلسَّامِعِينَ. BSB BSB: Remind the believers of these things, charging them before God to avoid quarreling over words, which succeeds only in leading the listeners to ruin.
15 GLT ٱجْتَهِدْ أَنْ تُقِيمَ نَفْسَكَ لِلهِ مُزَكًّى، عَامِلًا لَا يُخْزَى، مُفَصِّلًا كَلِمَةَ ٱلْحَقِّ بِٱلِٱسْتِقَامَةِ. BSB BSB: Make every effort to present yourself approved to God, an unashamed workman who accurately handles the word of truth.
16 GLT وَأَمَّا ٱلْأَقْوَالُ ٱلْبَاطِلَةُ ٱلدَّنِسَةُ فَٱجْتَنِبْهَا، لِأَنَّهُمْ يَتَقَدَّمُونَ إِلَى أَكْثَرِ فُجُورٍ، BSB BSB: But avoid irreverent, empty chatter, which will only lead to more ungodliness,
17 GLT وَكَلِمَتُهُمْ تَرْعَى كَآكِلَةٍ. ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْهُمْ هِيمِينَايُسُ وَفِيلِيتُسُ، BSB BSB: and the talk of such men will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
18 GLT ٱللَّذَانِ زَاغَا عَنِ ٱلْحَقِّ، قَائِلَيْنِ: «إِنَّ ٱلْقِيَامَةَ قَدْ صَارَتْ» فَيَقْلِبَانِ إِيمَانَ قَوْمٍ. BSB BSB: who have deviated from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already occurred, and they undermine the faith of some.
19 GLT وَلَكِنَّ أَسَاسَ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّاسِخَ قَدْ ثَبَتَ، إِذْ لَهُ هَذَا ٱلْخَتْمُ: «يَعْلَمُ ٱلرَّبُّ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لَهُ». وَ «لْيَتَجَنَّبِ ٱلْإِثْمَ كُلُّ مَنْ يُسَمِّي ٱسْمَ ٱلْمَسِيحِ». BSB BSB: Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord must turn away from iniquity.”
20 GLT وَلَكِنْ فِي بَيْتٍ كَبِيرٍ لَيْسَ آنِيَةٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَفِضَّةٍ فَقَطْ، بَلْ مِنْ خَشَبٍ وَخَزَفٍ أَيْضًا، وَتِلْكَ لِلْكَرَامَةِ وَهَذِهِ لِلْهَوَانِ. BSB BSB: A large house contains not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay. Some indeed are for honorable use, but others are for common use.
21 GLT فَإِنْ طَهَّرَ أَحَدٌ نَفْسَهُ مِنْ هَذِهِ، يَكُونُ إِنَاءً لِلْكَرَامَةِ، مُقَدَّسًا، نَافِعًا لِلسَّيِّدِ، مُسْتَعَدًّا لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ. BSB BSB: So if anyone cleanses himself of what is unfit, he will be a vessel for honor: sanctified, useful to the Master, and prepared for every good work.
22 GLT أَمَّا ٱلشَّهَوَاتُ ٱلشَّبَابِيَّةُ فَٱهْرُبْ مِنْهَا، وَٱتْبَعِ ٱلْبِرَّ وَٱلْإِيمَانَ وَٱلْمَحَبَّةَ وَٱلسَّلَامَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ ٱلرَّبَّ مِنْ قَلْبٍ نَقِيٍّ. BSB BSB: Flee from youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
23 GLT وَٱلْمُبَاحَثَاتُ ٱلْغَبِيَّةُ وَٱلسَّخِيفَةُ ٱجْتَنِبْهَا، عَالِمًا أَنَّهَا تُوَلِّدُ خُصُومَاتٍ، BSB BSB: But reject foolish and ignorant speculation, for you know that it breeds quarreling.
24 GLT وَعَبْدُ ٱلرَّبِّ لَا يَجِبُ أَنْ يُخَاصِمَ، بَلْ يَكُونُ مُتَرَفِّقًا بِٱلْجَمِيعِ، صَالِحًا لِلتَّعْلِيمِ، صَبُورًا عَلَى ٱلْمَشَقَّاتِ، BSB BSB: And a servant of the Lord must not be quarrelsome, but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, and forbearing.
25 GLT مُؤَدِّبًا بِٱلْوَدَاعَةِ ٱلْمُقَاوِمِينَ، عَسَى أَنْ يُعْطِيَهُمُ ٱللهُ تَوْبَةً لِمَعْرِفَةِ ٱلْحَقِّ، BSB BSB: He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth.
26 GLT فَيَسْتَفِيقُوا مِنْ فَخِّ إِبْلِيسَ إِذْ قَدِ ٱقْتَنَصَهُمْ لِإِرَادَتِهِ. BSB BSB: Then they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will.
