1. 1GLTفَأَجَابَ أَلِيهُو وَقَالَ:BSBBSB: Then Elihu continued:
2. 2GLT«ٱسْمَعُوا أَقْوَالِي أَيُّهَا ٱلْحُكَمَاءُ، وَٱصْغَوْا لِي أَيُّهَا ٱلْعَارِفُونَ.BSBBSB: “Hear my words, O wise men; give ear to me, O men of learning.
3. 3GLTلِأَنَّ ٱلْأُذُنَ تَمْتَحِنُ ٱلْأَقْوَالَ، كَمَا أَنَّ ٱلْحَنَكَ يَذُوقُ طَعَامًا.BSBBSB: For the ear tests words as the mouth tastes food.
4. 4GLTلِنَمْتَحِنْ لِأَنْفُسِنَا ٱلْحَقَّ، وَنَعْرِفْ بَيْنَ أَنْفُسِنَا مَا هُوَ طَيِّبٌ.BSBBSB: Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.
5. 5GLT«لِأَنَّ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ: تَبَرَّرْتُ، وَٱللهُ نَزَعَ حَقِّي.BSBBSB: For Job has declared, ‘I am righteous, yet God has deprived me of justice.
6. 6GLTعِنْدَ مُحَاكَمَتِي أُكَذَّبُ. جُرْحِي عَدِيمُ ٱلشِّفَاءِ مِنْ دُونِ ذَنْبٍ.BSBBSB: Would I lie about my case? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’
7. 7GLTفَأَيُّ إِنْسَانٍ كَأَيُّوبَ يَشْرَبُ ٱلْهُزْءَ كَٱلْمَاءِ،BSBBSB: What man is like Job, who drinks up derision like water?
8. 8GLTوَيَسِيرُ مُتَّحِدًا مَعَ فَاعِلِي ٱلْإِثْمِ، وَذَاهِبًا مَعَ أَهْلِ ٱلشَّرِّ؟BSBBSB: He keeps company with evildoers and walks with wicked men.
9. 9GLTلِأَنَّهُ قَالَ: لَا يَنْتَفِعُ ٱلْإِنْسَانُ بِكَوْنِهِ مَرْضِيًّا عِنْدَ ٱللهِ.BSBBSB: For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight in God.’
10. 10GLT«لِأَجْلِ ذَلِكَ ٱسْمَعُوا لِي يَا ذَوِي ٱلْأَلْبَابِ. حَاشَا لِلهِ مِنَ ٱلشَّرِّ، وَلِلْقَدِيرِ مِنَ ٱلظُّلْمِ.BSBBSB: Therefore listen to me, O men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wrong, and from the Almighty to act unjustly.
11. 11GLTلِأَنَّهُ يُجَازِي ٱلْإِنْسَانَ عَلَى فِعْلِهِ، وَيُنِيلُ ٱلرَّجُلَ كَطَرِيقِهِ.BSBBSB: For according to a man’s deeds He repays him; according to a man’s ways He brings consequences.
12. 12GLTفَحَقًّا إِنَّ ٱللهَ لَا يَفْعَلُ سُوءًا، وَٱلْقَدِيرَ لَا يُعَوِّجُ ٱلْقَضَاءَ.BSBBSB: Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly, and the Almighty does not pervert justice.
13. 13GLTمَنْ وَكَّلَهُ بِٱلْأَرْضِ، وَمَنْ صَنَعَ ٱلْمَسْكُونَةَ كُلَّهَا؟BSBBSB: Who gave Him charge over the earth? Who appointed Him over the whole world?
14. 14GLTإِنْ جَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ قَلْبَهُ، إِنْ جَمَعَ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ رُوحَهُ وَنَسَمَتَهُ،BSBBSB: If He were to set His heart to it and withdraw His Spirit and breath,
15. 15GLTيُسَلِّمُ ٱلرُّوحَ كُلُّ بَشَرٍ جَمِيعًا، وَيَعُودُ ٱلْإِنْسَانُ إِلَى ٱلتُّرَابِ.BSBBSB: all flesh would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
16. 16GLTفَإِنْ كَانَ لَكَ فَهْمٌ فَٱسْمَعْ هَذَا، وَٱصْغَ إِلَى صَوْتِ كَلِمَاتِي.BSBBSB: If you have understanding, hear this; listen to my words.
17. 17GLTأَلَعَلَّ مَنْ يُبْغِضُ ٱلْحَقَّ يَتَسَلَّطُ، أَمِ ٱلْبَارَّ ٱلْكَبِيرَ تَسْتَذْنِبُ؟BSBBSB: Could one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and mighty One,
18. 18GLTأَيُقَالُ لِلْمَلِكِ: يَا لَئِيمُ، وَلِلْنُدَبَاءِ: يَا أَشْرَارُ؟BSBBSB: who says to kings, ‘You are worthless!’ and to nobles, ‘You are wicked,’
19. 19GLTٱلَّذِي لَا يُحَابِي بِوُجُوهِ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءِ، وَلَا يَعْتَبِرُ مُوسَعًا دُونَ فَقِيرٍ. لِأَنَّهُمْ جَمِيعَهُمْ عَمَلُ يَدَيْهِ.BSBBSB: who is not partial to princes and does not favor rich over poor? For they are all the work of His hands.
20. 20GLTبَغْتَةً يَمُوتُونَ وَفِي نِصْفِ ٱللَّيْلِ. يَرْتَجُّ ٱلشَّعْبُ وَيَزُولُونَ، وَيُنْزَعُ ٱلْأَعِزَّاءُ لَا بِيَدٍ.BSBBSB: They die in an instant, in the middle of the night. The people convulse and pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand.
21. 21GLTلِأَنَّ عَيْنَيْهِ عَلَى طُرُقِ ٱلْإِنْسَانِ، وَهُوَ يَرَى كُلَّ خَطَوَاتِهِ.BSBBSB: For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees his every step.
22. 22GLTلَا ظَلَامَ وَلَا ظِلَّ مَوْتٍ حَيْثُ تَخْتَفِي عُمَّالُ ٱلْإِثْمِ.BSBBSB: There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
23. 23GLTلِأَنَّهُ لَا يُلَاحِظُ ٱلْإِنْسَانَ زَمَانًا لِلدُّخُولِ فِي ٱلْمُحَاكَمَةِ مَعَ ٱللهِ.BSBBSB: For God need not examine a man further or have him approach for judgment.
24. 24GLTيُحَطِّمُ ٱلْأَعِزَّاءَ مِنْ دُونِ فَحْصٍ، وَيُقِيمُ آخَرِينَ مَكَانَهُمْ.BSBBSB: He shatters the mighty without inquiry and sets up others in their place.
25. 25GLTلَكِنَّهُ يَعْرِفُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ، وَيُقَلِّبُهُمْ لَيْلًا فَيَنْسَحِقُونَ.BSBBSB: Therefore, He recognizes their deeds; He overthrows them in the night and they are crushed.
26. 26GLTلِكَوْنِهِمْ أَشْرَارًا، يَصْفِقُهُمْ فِي مَرْأَى ٱلنَّاظِرِينَ.BSBBSB: He strikes them for their wickedness in full view,
27. 27GLTلِأَنَّهُمُ ٱنْصَرَفُوا مِنْ وَرَائِهِ، وَكُلُّ طُرُقِهِ لَمْ يَتَأَمَّلُوهَا،BSBBSB: because they turned aside from Him and had no regard for any of His ways.
28. 28GLTحَتَّى بَلَّغُوا إِلَيْهِ صُرَاخَ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ، فَسَمِعَ زَعْقَةَ ٱلْبَائِسِينَ.BSBBSB: They caused the cry of the poor to come before Him, and He heard the outcry of the afflicted.
29. 29GLTإِذَا هُوَ سَكَّنَ، فَمَنْ يَشْغَبُ؟ وَإِذَا حَجَبَ وَجْهَهُ، فَمَنْ يَرَاهُ سَوَاءٌ كَانَ عَلَى أُمَّةٍ أَوْ عَلَى إِنْسَانٍ؟BSBBSB: But when He remains silent, who can condemn Him? When He hides His face, who can see Him? Yet He watches over both man and nation,
30. 30GLTحَتَّى لَا يَمْلِكَ ٱلْفَاجِرُ وَلَا يَكُونَ شَرَكًا لِلشَّعْبِ.BSBBSB: that godless men should not rule or lay snares for the people.
31. 31GLT«وَلَكِنْ هَلْ لِلهِ قَالَ: ٱحْتَمَلْتُ. لَا أَعُودُ أُفْسِدُ؟BSBBSB: Suppose someone says to God, ‘I have endured my punishment; I will offend no more.
32. 32GLTمَا لَمْ أُبْصِرْهُ فَأَرِنِيهِ أَنْتَ. إِنْ كُنْتُ قَدْ فَعَلْتُ إِثْمًا فَلَا أَعُودُ أَفْعَلُهُ.BSBBSB: Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do it again.’
33. 33GLTهَلْ كَرَأْيِكَ يُجَازِيهِ، قَائِلًا: لِأَنَّكَ رَفَضْتَ؟ فَأَنْتَ تَخْتَارُ لَا أَنَا، وَبِمَا تَعْرِفُهُ تَكَلَّمْ.BSBBSB: Should God repay you on your own terms when you have disavowed Him? You must choose, not I; so tell me what you know.
34. 34GLTذَوُو ٱلْأَلْبَابِ يَقُولُونَ لِي، بَلِ ٱلرَّجُلُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلَّذِي يَسْمَعُنِي يَقُولُ:BSBBSB: Men of understanding will declare to me, and the wise men who hear me will say:
35. 35GLTإِنَّ أَيُّوبَ يَتَكَلَّمُ بِلَا مَعْرِفَةٍ، وَكَلَامُهُ لَيْسَ بِتَعَقُّلٍ.BSBBSB: ‘Job speaks without knowledge; his words lack insight.’
36. 36GLTفَلَيْتَ أَيُّوبَ كَانَ يُمْتَحَنُ إِلَى ٱلْغَايَةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَجْوِبَتِهِ كَأَهْلِ ٱلْإِثْمِ.BSBBSB: If only Job were tried to the utmost for answering like a wicked man.
37. 37GLTلَكِنَّهُ أَضَافَ إِلَى خَطِيَّتِهِ مَعْصِيَةً. يُصَفِّقُ بَيْنَنَا، وَيُكْثِرُ كَلَامَهُ عَلَى ٱللهِ».BSBBSB: For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us and multiplies his words against God.”
