1 GLT وَكَلَّمَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى فِي بَرِّيَّةِ سِينَاءَ، فِي خَيْمَةِ ٱلِٱجْتِمَاعِ، فِي أَوَّلِ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلثَّانِي فِي ٱلسَّنَةِ ٱلثَّانِيَةِ لِخُرُوجِهِمْ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ قَائِلًا: BSB BSB: On the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites had come out of the land of Egypt, the LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Wilderness of Sinai. He said:
2 GLT «أَحْصُوا كُلَّ جَمَاعَةِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِعَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ، كُلَّ ذَكَرٍ بِرَأْسِهِ، BSB BSB: “Take a census of the whole congregation of Israel by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one.
3 GLT مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلَّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. تَحْسُبُهُمْ أَنْتَ وَهَارُونُ حَسَبَ أَجْنَادِهِمْ. BSB BSB: You and Aaron are to number those who are twenty years of age or older by their divisions—everyone who can serve in Israel’s army.
4 GLT وَيَكُونُ مَعَكُمَا رَجُلٌ لِكُلِّ سِبْطٍ، رَجُلٌ هُوَ رَأْسٌ لِبَيْتِ آبَائِهِ. BSB BSB: And one man from each tribe, the head of each family, must be there with you.
5 GLT وَهَذِهِ أَسْمَاءُ ٱلرِّجَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَقِفُونَ مَعَكُمَا: لِرَأُوبَيْنَ أَلِيصُورُ بْنُ شَدَيْئُورَ. BSB BSB: These are the names of the men who are to assist you: From the tribe of Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
6 GLT لِشِمْعُونَ شَلُومِيئِيلُ بْنُ صُورِيشَدَّاي. BSB BSB: from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
7 GLT لِيَهُوذَا نَحْشُونُ بْنُ عَمِّينَادَابَ. BSB BSB: from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
8 GLT لِيَسَّاكَرَ نَثَنَائِيلُ بْنُ صُوغَرَ. BSB BSB: from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
9 GLT لِزَبُولُونَ أَلِيآبُ بْنُ حِيلُونَ. BSB BSB: from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
10 GLT لِٱبْنَيْ يُوسُفَ: لِأَفْرَايِمَ أَلِيشَمَعُ بْنُ عَمِّيهُودَ، وَلِمَنَسَّى جَمْلِيئِيلُ بْنُ فَدَهْصُورَ. BSB BSB: from the sons of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud, and from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11 GLT لِبَنْيَامِينَ أَبِيدَنُ بْنُ جِدْعُونِي. BSB BSB: from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
12 GLT لِدَانَ أَخِيعَزَرُ بْنُ عَمِّيشَدَّاي. BSB BSB: from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
13 GLT لِأَشِيرَ فَجْعِيئِيلُ بْنُ عُكْرَنَ. BSB BSB: from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;
14 GLT لِجَادَ أَلِيَاسَافُ بْنُ دَعُوئِيلَ. BSB BSB: from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
15 GLT لِنَفْتَالِي أَخِيرَعُ بْنُ عِينَنَ». BSB BSB: and from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”
16 GLT هَؤُلَاءِ هُمْ مَشَاهِيرُ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ، رُؤَسَاءُ أَسْبَاطِ آبَائِهِمْ. رُؤُوسُ أُلُوفِ إِسْرَائِيلَ. BSB BSB: These men were appointed from the congregation; they were the leaders of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the clans of Israel.
17 GLT فَأَخَذَ مُوسَى وَهَارُونُ هَؤُلَاءِ ٱلرِّجَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَعَيَّنُوا بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ، BSB BSB: So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name,
18 GLT وَجَمَعَا كُلَّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ فِي أَوَّلِ ٱلشَّهْرِ ٱلثَّانِي، فَٱنْتَسَبُوا إِلَى عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ، مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا بِرُؤُوسِهِمْ، BSB BSB: and on the first day of the second month they assembled the whole congregation and recorded their ancestry by clans and families, counting one by one the names of those twenty years of age or older,
19 GLT كَمَا أَمَرَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى. فَعَدَّهُمْ فِي بَرِّيَّةِ سِينَاءَ. BSB BSB: just as the LORD had commanded Moses. So Moses numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai:
20 GLT فَكَانَ بَنُو رَأُوبَيْنَ بِكْرِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ بِرُؤُوسِهِمْ، كُلُّ ذَكَرٍ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
21 GLT كَانَ ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ رَأُوبَيْنَ سِتَّةً وَأَرْبَعِينَ أَلْفًا وَخَمْسَ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Reuben numbered 46,500.
22 GLT بَنُو شِمْعُونَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمِ، ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ بِرُؤُوسِهِمْ، كُلُّ ذَكَرٍ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Simeon, according to the records of their clans and families, counting one by one the names of every male twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
23 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ شِمْعُونَ تِسْعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ أَلْفًا وَثَلَاثُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Simeon numbered 59,300.
24 GLT بَنُو جَادَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Gad, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
25 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ جَادَ خَمْسَةٌ وَأَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفًا وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسُونَ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Gad numbered 45,650.
26 GLT بَنُو يَهُوذَا، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Judah, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
27 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ يَهُوذَا أَرْبَعَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ أَلْفًا وَسِتُّ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Judah numbered 74,600.
28 GLT بَنُو يَسَّاكَرَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Issachar, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
29 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ يَسَّاكَرَ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Issachar numbered 54,400.
30 GLT بَنُو زَبُولُونَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Zebulun, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
31 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ زَبُولُونَ سَبْعَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Zebulun numbered 57,400.
32 GLT بَنُو يُوسُفَ: بَنُو أَفْرَايِمَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Joseph: From the sons of Ephraim, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
33 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ أَفْرَايِمَ أَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفًا وَخَمْسُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Ephraim numbered 40,500.
34 GLT بَنُو مَنَسَّى، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: And from the sons of Manasseh, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
35 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ مَنَسَّى ٱثْنَانِ وَثَلَاثُونَ أَلْفًا وَمِئَتَانِ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Manasseh numbered 32,200.
36 GLT بَنُو بَنْيَامِينَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Benjamin, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
37 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ بَنْيَامِينَ خَمْسَةٌ وَثَلَاثُونَ أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Benjamin numbered 35,400.
38 GLT بَنُو دَانَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Dan, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
39 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ دَانَ ٱثْنَانِ وَسِتُّونَ أَلْفًا وَسَبْعُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Dan numbered 62,700.
40 GLT بَنُو أَشِيرَ، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Asher, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
41 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ أَشِيرَ وَاحِدٌ وأَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفًا وَخَمْسُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Asher numbered 41,500.
42 GLT بَنُو نَفْتَالِي، تَوَالِيدُهُمْ حَسَبَ عَشَائِرِهِمْ وَبُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ، بِعَدَدِ ٱلْأَسْمَاءِ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ، BSB BSB: From the sons of Naphtali, according to the records of their clans and families, counting the names of all those twenty years of age or older who could serve in the army,
43 GLT ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ مِنْهُمْ لِسِبْطِ نَفْتَالِي ثَلَاثَةٌ وَخَمْسُونَ أَلْفًا وَأَرْبَعُ مِئَةٍ. BSB BSB: those registered to the tribe of Naphtali numbered 53,400.
44 GLT هَؤُلَاءِ هُمُ ٱلْمَعْدُودُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ عَدَّهُمْ مُوسَى وَهَارُونُ وَرُؤَسَاءُ إِسْرَائِيلَ، ٱثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلًا، رَجُلٌ وَاحِدٌ لِبَيْتِ آبَائِهِ. BSB BSB: These were the men numbered by Moses and Aaron, with the assistance of the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.
45 GLT فَكَانَ جَمِيعُ ٱلْمَعْدُودِينَ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ حَسَبَ بُيُوتِ آبَائِهِمْ مِنِ ٱبْنِ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً فَصَاعِدًا، كُلُّ خَارِجٍ لِلْحَرْبِ فِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. BSB BSB: So all the Israelites twenty years of age or older who could serve in Israel’s army were counted according to their families.
46 GLT كَانَ جَمِيعُ ٱلْمَعْدُودِينَ سِتَّ مِئَةِ أَلْفٍ وَثَلَاثَةَ آلَافٍ وَخَمْسَ مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسِينَ. BSB BSB: And all those counted totaled 603,550.
47 GLT وَأَمَّا ٱللَّاوِيُّونَ حَسَبَ سِبْطِ آبَائِهِمْ فَلَمْ يُعَدُّوا بَيْنَهُمْ، BSB BSB: The Levites, however, were not numbered along with them by the tribe of their fathers.
48 GLT إِذْ كَلَّمَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى قَائِلًا: BSB BSB: For the LORD had said to Moses:
49 GLT «أَمَّا سِبْطُ لَاوِي فَلَا تَحْسُبُهُ وَلَا تَعُدَّهُ بَيْنَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. BSB BSB: “Do not number the tribe of Levi in the census with the other Israelites.
50 GLT بَلْ وَكِّلِ ٱللَّاوِيِّينَ عَلَى مَسْكَنِ ٱلشَّهَادَةِ وَعَلَى جَمِيعِ أَمْتِعَتِهِ وَعَلَى كُلِّ مَا لَهُ. هُمْ يَحْمِلُونَ ٱلْمَسْكَنَ وَكُلَّ أَمْتِعَتِهِ، وَهُمْ يَخْدِمُونَهُ، وَحَوْلَ ٱلْمَسْكَنِ يَنْزِلُونَ. BSB BSB: Instead, you are to appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the Testimony, all its furnishings, and everything in it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles, care for it, and camp around it.
51 GLT فَعِنْدَ ٱرْتِحَالِ ٱلْمَسْكَنِ يُنَزِّلُهُ ٱللَّاوِيُّونَ وَعِنْدَ نُزُولِ ٱلْمَسْكَنِ يُقِيمُهُ ٱللَّاوِيُّونَ. وَٱلْأَجْنَبِيُّ ٱلَّذِي يَقْتَرِبُ يُقْتَلُ. BSB BSB: Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever it is to be pitched, the Levites are to set it up. Any outsider who goes near it must be put to death.
52 GLT وَيَنْزِلُ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ كُلٌّ فِي مَحَلَّتِهِ وَكُلٌّ عِنْدَ رَايَتِهِ بِأَجْنَادِهِمْ. BSB BSB: The Israelites are to camp by their divisions, each man in his own camp and under his own standard.
53 GLT وَأَمَّا ٱللَّاوِيُّونَ فَيَنْزِلُونَ حَوْلَ مَسْكَنِ ٱلشَّهَادَةِ لِكَيْ لَا يَكُونَ سَخَطٌ عَلَى جَمَاعَةِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، فَيَحْفَظُ ٱللَّاوِيُّونَ شَعَائِرَ مَسْكَنِ ٱلشَّهَادَةِ». BSB BSB: But the Levites are to camp around the tabernacle of the Testimony and watch over it, so that no wrath will fall on the congregation of Israel. So the Levites are responsible for the tabernacle of the Testimony.”
54 GLT فَفَعَلَ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ حَسَبَ كُلِّ مَا أَمَرَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى كَذَلِكَ فَعَلُوا. BSB BSB: Thus the Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
