1 GLT فَتَقَدَّمَتْ بَنَاتُ صَلُفْحَادَ بْنِ حَافَرَ بْنِ جِلْعَادَ بْنِ مَاكِيرَ بْنِ مَنَسَّى، مِنْ عَشَائِرِ مَنَسَّى بْنِ يُوسُفَ. وَهَذِهِ أَسْمَاءُ بَنَاتِهِ: مَحْلَةُ وَنُوعَةُ وَحُجْلَةُ وَمِلْكَةُ وَتِرْصَةُ. BSB BSB: Now the daughters of Zelophehad son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, belonged to the clans of Manasseh son of Joseph. These were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. They approached
2 GLT وَوَقَفْنَ أَمَامَ مُوسَى وَأَلِعَازَارَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ وَأَمَامَ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءِ وَكُلِّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ لَدَى بَابِ خَيْمَةِ ٱلِٱجْتِمَاعِ قَائِلَاتٍ: BSB BSB: the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, stood before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the leaders, and the whole congregation, and said,
3 GLT «أَبُونَا مَاتَ فِي ٱلْبَرِّيَّةِ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى ٱلرَّبِّ فِي جَمَاعَةِ قُورَحَ، بَلْ بِخَطِيَّتِهِ مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بَنُونَ. BSB BSB: “Our father died in the wilderness, but he was not among the followers of Korah who gathered together against the LORD. Instead, he died because of his own sin, and he had no sons.
4 GLT لِمَاذَا يُحْذَفُ ٱسْمُ أَبِينَا مِنْ بَيْنِ عَشِيرَتِهِ لِأَنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ ٱبْنٌ؟ أَعْطِنَا مُلْكًا بَيْنَ إِخْوةِ أَبِينَا». BSB BSB: Why should the name of our father disappear from his clan because he had no sons? Give us property among our father’s brothers.”
5 GLT فَقَدَّمَ مُوسَى دَعْوَاهُنَّ أَمَامَ ٱلرَّبِّ. BSB BSB: So Moses brought their case before the LORD,
6 GLT فَكَلَّمَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى قَائِلًا: BSB BSB: and the LORD answered him,
7 GLT «بِحَقٍّ تَكَلَّمَتْ بَنَاتُ صَلُفْحَادَ، فَتُعْطِيهِنَّ مُلْكَ نَصِيبٍ بَيْنَ إِخْوَةِ أَبِيهنَّ، وَتَنْقُلُ نَصِيبَ أَبِيهِنَّ إِلَيْهِنَّ. BSB BSB: “The daughters of Zelophehad speak correctly. You certainly must give them property as an inheritance among their father’s brothers and transfer their father’s inheritance to them.
8 GLT وَتُكَلِّمُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ قَائِلًا: أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱبْنٌ، تَنْقُلُونَ مُلْكَهُ إِلَى ٱبْنَتِهِ. BSB BSB: Furthermore, you shall say to the Israelites, ‘If a man dies and leaves no son, you are to transfer his inheritance to his daughter.
9 GLT وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ لَهُ ٱبْنَةٌ، تُعْطُوا مُلْكَهُ لِإِخْوَتِهِ. BSB BSB: If he has no daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers.
10 GLT وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ إِخْوَةٌ، تُعْطُوا مُلْكَهُ لِإِخوَةِ أَبِيهِ. BSB BSB: If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers.
11 GLT وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِأَبِيهِ إِخْوَةٌ، تُعْطُوا مُلْكَهُ لِنَسِيبِهِ ٱلْأَقْرَبِ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ عَشِيرَتِهِ فَيَرِثُهُ». فَصَارَتْ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فَرِيضَةَ قَضَاءٍ، كَمَا أَمَرَ ٱلرَّبُّ مُوسَى. BSB BSB: And if his father has no brothers, give his inheritance to the next of kin from his clan, that he may take possession of it. This is to be a statutory ordinance for the Israelites, as the LORD has commanded Moses.’”
12 GLT وَقَالَ ٱلرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى:«ٱصْعَدْ إِلَى جَبَلِ عَبَارِيمَ هَذَا وَٱنْظُرِ ٱلْأَرْضَ ٱلَّتِي أَعْطَيْتُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. BSB BSB: Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go up this mountain of the Abarim range and see the land that I have given the Israelites.
13 GLT وَمَتَى نَظَرْتَهَا، تُضَمُّ إِلَى قَوْمِكَ أَنْتَ أَيْضًا كَمَا ضُمَّ هَارُونُ أَخُوكَ. BSB BSB: After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, as your brother Aaron was;
14 GLT لِأَنَّكُمَا فِي بَرِّيَّةِ صِينَ، عِنْدَ مُخَاصَمَةِ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ، عَصَيْتُمَا قَوْلِي أَنْ تُقَدِّسَانِي بِٱلْمَاءِ أَمَامَ أَعْيُنِهِمْ». ذَلِكَ مَاءُ مَرِيبَةِ قَادَشَ فِي بَرِّيَّةِ صِينَ. BSB BSB: for when the congregation contended in the Wilderness of Zin, both of you rebelled against My command to show My holiness in their sight regarding the waters.” Those were the waters of Meribah in Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin.
15 GLT فَكَلَّمَ مُوسَى ٱلرَّبِّ قَائِلًا: BSB BSB: So Moses appealed to the LORD,
16 GLT «لِيُوَكِّلِ ٱلرَّبُّ إِلَهُ أَرْوَاحِ جَمِيعِ ٱلْبَشَرِ رَجُلًا عَلَى ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ، BSB BSB: “May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation
17 GLT يَخْرُجُ أَمَامَهُمْ وَيَدْخُلُ أَمَامَهُمْ وَيُخْرِجُهُمْ وَيُدْخِلُهُمْ، لِكَيْلَا تَكُونَ جَمَاعَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ كَٱلْغَنَمِ ٱلَّتِي لَا رَاعِيَ لَهَا». BSB BSB: who will go out and come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the LORD will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
18 GLT فَقَالَ ٱلرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى:«خُذْ يَشُوعَ بْنَ نُونَ، رَجُلًا فِيهِ رُوحٌ، وَضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَيْهِ، BSB BSB: And the LORD replied to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man with the Spirit in him, and lay your hands on him.
19 GLT وَأَوْقِفْهُ قُدَّامَ أَلِعَازَارَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ وَقُدَّامَ كُلِّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ، وَأَوْصِهِ أَمَامَ أَعْيُنِهِمْ. BSB BSB: Have him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation, and commission him in their sight.
20 GLT وَٱجْعَلْ مِنْ هَيْبَتِكَ عَلَيْهِ لِكَيْ يَسْمَعَ لَهُ كُلُّ جَمَاعَةِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، BSB BSB: Confer on him some of your authority, so that the whole congregation of Israel will obey him.
21 GLT فَيَقِفَ أَمَامَ أَلِعَازَارَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ فَيَسْأَلُ لَهُ بِقَضَاءِ ٱلْأُورِيمِ أَمَامَ ٱلرَّبِّ. حَسَبَ قَوْلِهِ يَخْرُجُونَ، وَحَسَبَ قَوْلِهِ يَدْخُلُونَ، هُوَ وَكُلُّ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مَعَهُ، كُلُّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ». BSB BSB: He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who will seek counsel for him before the LORD by the judgment of the Urim. At his command, he and all the Israelites with him—the entire congregation—will go out and come in.”
22 GLT فَفَعَلَ مُوسَى كَمَا أَمَرَهُ ٱلرَّبُّ. أَخَذَ يَشُوعَ وَأَوْقَفَهُ قُدَّامَ أَلِعَازَارَ ٱلْكَاهِنِ وَقُدَّامَ كُلِّ ٱلْجَمَاعَةِ، BSB BSB: Moses did as the LORD had commanded him. He took Joshua, had him stand before Eleazar the priest and the whole congregation,
23 GLT وَوَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ عَلَيْهِ وَأَوْصَاهُ كَمَا تَكَلَّمَ ٱلرَّبُّ عَنْ يَدِ مُوسَى. BSB BSB: and laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as the LORD had instructed through Moses.
