1 GLT يَا ٱبْنِي، لَا تَنْسَ شَرِيعَتِي، بَلْ لِيَحْفَظْ قَلْبُكَ وَصَايَايَ. BSB BSB: My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;
2 GLT فَإِنَّهَا تَزِيدُكَ طُولَ أَيَّامٍ، وَسِنِي حَيَاةٍ وَسَلَامَةً. BSB BSB: for they will add length to your days, years and peace to your life.
3 GLT لَا تَدَعِ ٱلرَّحْمَةَ وَٱلْحَقَّ يَتْرُكَانِكَ. تَقَلَّدْهُمَا عَلَى عُنُقِكَ. اُكْتُبْهُمَا عَلَى لَوْحِ قَلْبِكَ، BSB BSB: Never let loving devotion or faithfulness leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 GLT فَتَجِدَ نِعْمَةً وَفِطْنَةً صَالِحَةً فِي أَعْيُنِ ٱللهِ وَٱلنَّاسِ. BSB BSB: Then you will find favor and high regard in the sight of God and man.
5 GLT تَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلرَّبِّ بِكُلِّ قَلْبِكَ، وَعَلَى فَهْمِكَ لَا تَعْتَمِدْ. BSB BSB: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;
6 GLT فِي كُلِّ طُرُقِكَ ٱعْرِفْهُ، وَهُوَ يُقَوِّمُ سُبُلَكَ. BSB BSB: in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
7 GLT لَا تَكُنْ حَكِيمًا فِي عَيْنَيْ نَفْسِكَ. ٱتَّقِ ٱلرَّبَّ وَٱبْعُدْ عَنِ ٱلشَّرِّ، BSB BSB: Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
8 GLT فَيَكُونَ شِفَاءً لِسُرَّتِكَ، وَسَقَاءً لِعِظَامِكَ. BSB BSB: This will bring healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.
9 GLT أَكْرِمِ ٱلرَّبَّ مِنْ مَالِكَ وَمِنْ كُلِّ بَاكُورَاتِ غَلَّتِكَ، BSB BSB: Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 GLT فَتَمْتَلِئَ خَزَائِنُكَ شِبْعًا، وَتَفِيضَ مَعَاصِرُكَ مِسْطَارًا. BSB BSB: then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 GLT يَا ٱبْنِي، لَا تَحْتَقِرْ تَأْدِيبَ ٱلرَّبِّ وَلَا تَكْرَهْ تَوْبِيخَهُ، BSB BSB: My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD, and do not loathe His rebuke;
12 GLT لِأَنَّ ٱلَّذِي يُحِبُّهُ ٱلرَّبُّ يُؤَدِّبُهُ، وَكَأَبٍ بِٱبْنٍ يُسَرُّ بِهِ. BSB BSB: for the LORD disciplines the one He loves, as does a father the son in whom he delights.
13 GLT طُوبَى لِلْإِنْسَانِ ٱلَّذِي يَجِدُ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ، وَلِلرَّجُلِ ٱلَّذِي يَنَالُ ٱلْفَهْمَ، BSB BSB: Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who acquires understanding,
14 GLT لِأَنَّ تِجَارَتَهَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ تِجَارَةِ ٱلْفِضَّةِ، وَرِبْحَهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ ٱلْخَالِصِ. BSB BSB: for she is more profitable than silver, and her gain is better than fine gold.
15 GLT هِيَ أَثْمَنُ مِنَ ٱلَّلآلِئِ، وَكُلُّ جَوَاهِرِكَ لَا تُسَاوِيهَا. BSB BSB: She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire compares with her.
16 GLT فِي يَمِينِهَا طُولُ أَيَّامٍ، وَفِي يَسَارِهَا ٱلْغِنَى وَٱلْمَجْدُ. BSB BSB: Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 GLT طُرُقُهَا طُرُقُ نِعَمٍ، وَكُلُّ مَسَالِكِهَا سَلَامٌ. BSB BSB: All her ways are pleasant, and all her paths are peaceful.
18 GLT هِيَ شَجَرَةُ حَيَاةٍ لِمُمْسِكِيهَا، وَٱلْمُتَمَسِّكُ بِهَا مَغْبُوطٌ. BSB BSB: She is a tree of life to those who embrace her, and those who lay hold of her are blessed.
19 GLT ٱلرَّبُّ بِٱلْحِكْمَةِ أَسَّسَ ٱلْأَرْضَ. أَثْبَتَ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ بِٱلْفَهْمِ. BSB BSB: The LORD founded the earth by wisdom and established the heavens by understanding.
20 GLT بِعِلْمِهِ ٱنْشَقَّتِ ٱللُّجَجُ، وَتَقْطُرُ ٱلسَّحَابُ نَدًى. BSB BSB: By His knowledge the watery depths were broken open, and the clouds dripped with dew.
21 GLT يَا ٱبْنِي، لَا تَبْرَحْ هَذِهِ مِنْ عَيْنَيْكَ. ٱحْفَظِ ٱلرَّأْيَ وَٱلتَّدْبِيرَ، BSB BSB: My son, do not lose sight of this: Preserve sound judgment and discernment.
22 GLT فَيَكُونَا حَيَاةً لِنَفْسِكَ، وَنِعْمَةً لِعُنُقِكَ. BSB BSB: They will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck.
23 GLT حِينَئِذٍ تَسْلُكُ فِي طَرِيقِكَ آمِنًا، وَلَا تَعْثُرُ رِجْلُكَ. BSB BSB: Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble.
24 GLT إِذَا ٱضْطَجَعْتَ فَلَا تَخَافُ، بَلْ تَضْطَجِعُ وَيَلُذُّ نَوْمُكَ. BSB BSB: When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you rest, your sleep will be sweet.
25 GLT لَا تَخْشَى مِنْ خَوْفٍ بَاغِتٍ، وَلَا مِنْ خَرَابِ ٱلْأَشْرَارِ إِذَا جَاءَ. BSB BSB: Do not fear sudden danger or the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
26 GLT لِأَنَّ ٱلرَّبَّ يَكُونُ مُعْتَمَدَكَ، وَيَصُونُ رِجْلَكَ مِنْ أَنْ تُؤْخَذَ. BSB BSB: for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from the snare.
27 GLT لَا تَمْنَعِ ٱلْخَيْرَ عَنْ أَهْلِهِ، حِينَ يَكُونُ فِي طَاقَةِ يَدِكَ أَنْ تَفْعَلَهُ. BSB BSB: Do not withhold good from the deserving when it is within your power to act.
28 GLT لَا تَقُلْ لِصَاحِبِكَ: «ٱذْهَبْ وَعُدْ فَأُعْطِيَكَ غَدًا» وَمَوْجُودٌ عِنْدَكَ. BSB BSB: Do not tell your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I will provide”—when you already have the means.
29 GLT لَا تَخْتَرِعْ شَرًّا عَلَى صَاحِبِكَ، وَهُوَ سَاكِنٌ لَدَيْكَ آمِنًا. BSB BSB: Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he trustfully dwells beside you.
30 GLT لَا تُخَاصِمْ إِنْسَانًا بِدُونِ سَبَبٍ، إِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ صَنَعَ مَعَكَ شَرًّا. BSB BSB: Do not accuse a man without cause, when he has done you no harm.
31 GLT لَا تَحْسِدِ ٱلظَّالِمَ وَلَا تَخْتَرْ شَيْئًا مِنْ طُرُقِهِ، BSB BSB: Do not envy a violent man or choose any of his ways;
32 GLT لِأَنَّ ٱلْمُلْتَوِيَ رَجْسٌ عِنْدَ ٱلرَّبِّ، أَمَّا سِرُّهُ فَعِنْدَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِينَ. BSB BSB: for the LORD detests the perverse, but He is a friend to the upright.
33 GLT لَعْنَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ فِي بَيْتِ ٱلشِّرِّيرِ، لَكِنَّهُ يُبَارِكُ مَسْكَنَ ٱلصِّدِّيقِينَ. BSB BSB: The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the home of the righteous.
34 GLT كَمَا أَنَّهُ يَسْتَهْزِئُ بِٱلْمُسْتَهْزِئِينَ، هَكَذَا يُعْطِي نِعْمَةً لِلْمُتَوَاضِعِينَ. BSB BSB: He mocks the mockers, but gives grace to the humble.
35 GLT ٱلْحُكَمَاءُ يَرِثُونَ مَجْدًا وَٱلْحَمْقَى يَحْمِلُونَ هَوَانًا. BSB BSB: The wise will inherit honor, but fools are held up to shame.
