1 GLT أَلَعَلَّ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ لَا تُنَادِي؟ وَٱلْفَهْمَ أَلَا يُعْطِي صَوْتَهُ؟ BSB BSB: Does not wisdom call out, and understanding raise her voice?
2 GLT عِنْدَ رُؤُوسِ ٱلشَّوَاهِقِ، عِنْدَ ٱلطَّرِيقِ بَيْنَ ٱلْمَسَالِكِ تَقِفُ. BSB BSB: On the heights overlooking the road, at the crossroads she takes her stand.
3 GLT بِجَانِبِ ٱلْأَبْوَابِ، عِنْدَ ثَغْرِ ٱلْمَدِينَةِ، عِنْدَ مَدْخَلِ ٱلْأَبْوَابِ تُصَرِّحُ: BSB BSB: Beside the gates to the city, at the entrances she cries out:
4 GLT «لَكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ أُنَادِي، وَصَوْتِي إِلَى بَنِي آدَمَ. BSB BSB: “To you, O men, I call out, and my cry is to the sons of men.
5 GLT أَيُّهَا ٱلْحَمْقَى تَعَلَّمُوا ذَكَاءً، وَيَا جُهَّالُ تَعَلَّمُوا فَهْمًا. BSB BSB: O simple ones, learn to be shrewd; O fools, gain understanding.
6 GLT اِسْمَعُوا فَإِنِّي أَتَكَلَّمُ بِأُمُورٍ شَرِيفَةٍ، وَٱفْتِتَاحُ شَفَتَيَّ ٱسْتِقَامَةٌ. BSB BSB: Listen, for I speak of noble things, and the opening of my lips will reveal right.
7 GLT لِأَنَّ حَنَكِي يَلْهَجُ بِٱلصِّدْقِ، وَمَكْرَهَةُ شَفَتَيَّ ٱلْكَذِبُ. BSB BSB: For my mouth will speak the truth, and wickedness is detestable to my lips.
8 GLT كُلُّ كَلِمَاتِ فَمِي بِٱلْحَقِّ. لَيْسَ فِيهَا عِوَجٌ وَلَا ٱلْتِوَاءٌ. BSB BSB: All the words of my mouth are righteous; none are crooked or perverse.
9 GLT كُلُّهَا وَاضِحَةٌ لَدَى ٱلْفَهِيمِ، وَمُسْتَقِيمَةٌ لَدَى ٱلَّذِينَ يَجِدُونَ ٱلْمَعْرِفَةَ. BSB BSB: They are all plain to the discerning, and upright to those who find knowledge.
10 GLT خُذُوا تَأْدِيبِي لَا ٱلْفِضَّةَ، وَٱلْمَعْرِفَةَ أَكْثَرَ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ ٱلْمُخْتَارِ. BSB BSB: Receive my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold.
11 GLT لِأَنَّ ٱلْحِكْمَةَ خَيْرٌ مِنَ ٱلَّلآلِئِ، وَكُلُّ ٱلْجَوَاهِرِ لَا تُسَاوِيهَا. BSB BSB: For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with her.
12 GLT «أَنَا ٱلْحِكْمَةُ أَسْكُنُ ٱلذَّكَاءَ، وَأَجِدُ مَعْرِفَةَ ٱلتَّدَابِيرِ. BSB BSB: I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion.
13 GLT مَخَافَةُ ٱلرَّبِّ بُغْضُ ٱلشَّرِّ. ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءَ وَٱلتَّعَظُّمَ وَطَرِيقَ ٱلشَّرِّ وَفَمَ ٱلْأَكَاذِيبِ أَبْغَضْتُ. BSB BSB: To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech.
14 GLT لِي ٱلْمَشُورَةُ وَٱلرَّأْيُ. أَنَا ٱلْفَهْمُ. لِي ٱلْقُدْرَةُ. BSB BSB: Counsel and sound judgment are mine; I have insight and strength.
15 GLT بِي تَمْلِكُ ٱلْمُلُوكُ، وَتَقْضِي ٱلْعُظَمَاءُ عَدْلًا. BSB BSB: By me kings reign, and rulers enact just laws;
16 GLT بِي تَتَرَأَّسُ ٱلرُّؤَسَاءُ وَٱلشُّرَفَاءُ، كُلُّ قُضَاةِ ٱلْأَرْضِ. BSB BSB: By me princes rule, and all nobles who govern justly.
17 GLT أَنَا أُحِبُّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَنِي، وَٱلَّذِينَ يُبَكِّرُونَ إِلَيَّ يَجِدُونَنِي. BSB BSB: I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.
18 GLT عِنْدِي ٱلْغِنَى وَٱلْكَرَامَةُ. قِنْيَةٌ فَاخِرَةٌ وَحَظٌّ. BSB BSB: With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and righteousness.
19 GLT ثَمَرِي خَيْرٌ مِنَ ٱلذَّهَبِ وَمِنَ ٱلْإِبْرِيزِ، وَغَلَّتِي خَيْرٌ مِنَ ٱلْفِضَّةِ ٱلْمُخْتَارَةِ. BSB BSB: My fruit is better than gold, pure gold, and my harvest surpasses choice silver.
20 GLT فِي طَرِيقِ ٱلْعَدْلِ أَتَمَشَّى، فِي وَسَطِ سُبُلِ ٱلْحَقِّ، BSB BSB: I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,
21 GLT فَأُوَرِّثُ مُحِبِّيَّ رِزْقًا وَأَمْلَأُ خَزَائِنَهُمْ. BSB BSB: bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
23 GLT مُنْذُ ٱلْأَزَلِ مُسِحْتُ، مُنْذُ ٱلْبَدْءِ، مُنْذُ أَوَائِلِ ٱلْأَرْضِ. BSB BSB: From everlasting I was established, from the beginning, before the earth began.
24 GLT إِذْ لَمْ يَكُنْ غَمْرٌ أُبْدِئْتُ. إِذْ لَمْ تَكُنْ يَنَابِيعُ كَثِيرَةُ ٱلْمِيَاهِ. BSB BSB: When there were no watery depths, I was brought forth, when no springs were overflowing with water.
25 GLT مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَقَرَّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ، قَبْلَ ٱلتِّلَالِ أُبْدِئْتُ. BSB BSB: Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,
26 GLT إِذْ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَدْ صَنَعَ ٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدُ وَلَا ٱلْبَرَارِيَّ وَلَا أَوَّلَ أَعْفَارِ ٱلْمَسْكُونَةِ. BSB BSB: before He made the land or fields, or any of the dust of the earth.
27 GLT لَمَّا ثَبَّتَ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ كُنْتُ هُنَاكَ أَنَا. لَمَّا رَسَمَ دَائِرَةً عَلَى وَجْهِ ٱلْغَمْرِ. BSB BSB: I was there when He established the heavens, when He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,
28 GLT لَمَّا أَثْبَتَ ٱلسُّحُبَ مِنْ فَوْقُ. لَمَّا تَشَدَّدَتْ يَنَابِيعُ ٱلْغَمْرِ. BSB BSB: when He established the clouds above, when the fountains of the deep gushed forth,
29 GLT لَمَّا وَضَعَ لِلْبَحْرِ حَدَّهُ فَلَا تَتَعَدَّى ٱلْمِيَاهُ تُخْمَهُ، لَمَّا رَسَمَ أُسُسَ ٱلْأَرْضِ، BSB BSB: when He set a boundary for the sea, so that the waters would not surpass His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth.
30 GLT كُنْتُ عِنْدَهُ صَانِعًا، وَكُنْتُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ لَذَّتَهُ، فَرِحَةً دَائِمًا قُدَّامَهُ. BSB BSB: Then I was a skilled craftsman at His side, and His delight day by day, rejoicing always in His presence.
31 GLT فَرِحَةً فِي مَسْكُونَةِ أَرْضِهِ، وَلَذَّاتِي مَعَ بَنِي آدَمَ. BSB BSB: I was rejoicing in His whole world, delighting together in the sons of men.
32 GLT «فَٱلْآنَ أَيُّهَا ٱلْبَنُونَ ٱسْمَعُوا لِي. فَطُوبَى لِلَّذِينَ يَحْفَظُونَ طُرُقِي. BSB BSB: Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 GLT ٱسْمَعُوا ٱلتَّعْلِيمَ وَكُونُوا حُكَمَاءَ وَلَا تَرْفُضُوهُ. BSB BSB: Listen to instruction and be wise; do not ignore it.
34 GLT طُوبَى لِلْإِنْسَانِ ٱلَّذِي يَسْمَعُ لِي سَاهِرًا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ عِنْدَ مَصَارِيعِي، حَافِظًا قَوَائِمَ أَبْوَابِي. BSB BSB: Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at the posts of my doorway.
35 GLT لِأَنَّهُ مَنْ يَجِدُنِي يَجِدُ ٱلْحَيَاةَ، وَيَنَالُ رِضًى مِنَ ٱلرَّبِّ، BSB BSB: For whoever finds me finds life and obtains the favor of the LORD.
36 GLT وَمَنْ يُخْطِئُ عَنِّي يَضُرُّ نَفْسَهُ. كُلُّ مُبْغِضِيَّ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَوْتَ». BSB BSB: But he who fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death.”
