Paul’s Greeting to the Galatians 1 BBE Paul, an Apostle (not from men, and not through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who made him come back from the dead), BSB BSB: Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead—
2 BBE And all the brothers who are with me, to the churches of Galatia: BSB BSB: and all the brothers with me, To the churches of Galatia:
3 BBE Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, BSB BSB: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,
4 BBE Who gave himself for our sins, so that he might make us free from this present evil world, after the purpose of our God and Father: BSB BSB: who gave Himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5 BBE To whom be the glory for ever and ever. So be it. BSB BSB: to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
No Other Gospel 7 BBE Which is not another sort: only there are some who give you trouble, desiring to make changes in the good news of Christ. BSB BSB: which is not even a gospel. Evidently some people are troubling you and trying to distort the gospel of Christ.
9 BBE As we have said before, so say I now again, If any man is a preacher to you of any good news other than that which has been given to you, let there be a curse on him. BSB BSB: As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be under a curse!
Paul Preaches the Gospel 10 BBE Am I now using arguments to men, or God? or is it my desire to give men pleasure? if I was still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ. BSB BSB: Am I now seeking the approval of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
11 BBE Because I say to you, my brothers, that the good news of which I was the preacher is not man's. BSB BSB: For I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached was not devised by man.
12 BBE For I did not get it from man, and I was not given teaching in it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ. BSB BSB: I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.
14 BBE And I went farther in the Jews' religion than a number of my generation among my countrymen, having a more burning interest in the beliefs handed down from my fathers. BSB BSB: I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
15 BBE But when it was the good pleasure of God, by whom I was marked out even from my mother's body, through his grace, BSB BSB: But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me by His grace, was pleased
16 BBE To give the revelation of his Son in me, so that I might give the news of him to the Gentiles; then I did not take the opinion of flesh and blood, BSB BSB: to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not rush to consult with flesh and blood,
17 BBE And I went not up to Jerusalem to those who were Apostles before me; but I went away into Arabia, and again I came back to Damascus. BSB BSB: nor did I go up to Jerusalem to the apostles who came before me, but I went into Arabia and later returned to Damascus.
20 BBE Now God is witness that the things which I am writing to you are true. BSB BSB: I assure you before God that what I am writing to you is no lie.
21 BBE Then I came to the parts of Syria and Cilicia. BSB BSB: Later I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 BBE And the churches of Judaea which were in Christ still had no knowledge of my face or person: BSB BSB: I was personally unknown, however, to the churches of Judea that are in Christ.
23 BBE Only it came to their ears that he who at one time was cruel to us is now preaching the faith which before had been attacked by him; BSB BSB: They only heard the account: “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.”
24 BBE And they gave glory to God in me. BSB BSB: And they glorified God because of me.
