1. The Covenant of the Rainbow

2. 1BBEAnd God gave his blessing to Noah and his sons, and said, Be fertile, and have increase, and make the earth full.BSBBSB: And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.
3. 2BBEAnd the fear of you will be strong in every beast of the earth and every bird of the air; everything which goes on the land, and all the fishes of the sea, are given into your hands.BSBBSB: The fear and dread of you will fall on every living creature on the earth, every bird of the air, every creature that crawls on the ground, and all the fish of the sea. They are delivered into your hand.
4. 3BBEEvery living and moving thing will be food for you; I give them all to you as before I gave you all green things.BSBBSB: Everything that lives and moves will be food for you; just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you all things.
5. 4BBEBut flesh with the life-blood in it you may not take for food.BSBBSB: But you must not eat meat with its lifeblood still in it.
6. 5BBEAnd for your blood, which is your life, will I take payment; from every beast I will take it, and from every man will I take payment for the blood of his brother-man.BSBBSB: And surely I will require the life of any man or beast by whose hand your lifeblood is shed. I will demand an accounting from anyone who takes the life of his fellow man:
7. 6BBEWhoever takes a man's life, by man will his life be taken; because God made man in his image.BSBBSB: Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man his blood will be shed; for in His own image God has made mankind.
8. 7BBEAnd now, be fertile and have increase; have offspring on the earth and become great in number.BSBBSB: But as for you, be fruitful and multiply; spread out across the earth and multiply upon it.”
9. 8BBEAnd God said to Noah and to his sons,BSBBSB: Then God said to Noah and his sons with him,
10. 9BBETruly, I will make my agreement with you and with your seed after you,BSBBSB: “Behold, I now establish My covenant with you and your descendants after you,
11. 10BBEAnd with every living thing with you, all birds and cattle and every beast of the earth which comes out of the ark with you.BSBBSB: and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth—every living thing that came out of the ark.
12. 11BBEAnd I will make my agreement with you; never again will all flesh be cut off by the waters; never again will the waters come over all the earth for its destruction.BSBBSB: And I establish My covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
13. 12BBEAnd God said, This is the sign of the agreement which I make between me and you and every living thing with you, for all future generations:BSBBSB: And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
14. 13BBEI will put my bow in the cloud and it will be for a sign of the agreement between me and the earth.BSBBSB: I have set My rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
15. 14BBEAnd whenever I make a cloud come over the earth, the bow will be seen in the cloud,BSBBSB: Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
16. 15BBEAnd I will keep in mind the agreement between me and you and every living thing; and never again will there be a great flow of waters causing destruction to all flesh.BSBBSB: I will remember My covenant between Me and you and every living creature of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
17. 16BBEAnd the bow will be in the cloud, and looking on it, I will keep in mind the eternal agreement between God and every living thing on the earth.BSBBSB: And whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of every kind that is on the earth.”
18. 17BBEAnd God said to Noah, This is the sign of the agreement which I have made between me and all flesh on the earth.BSBBSB: So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Me and every creature on the earth.”

Their faces were turned away so that they did not see their father’s nakedness.
