8 ULB কিন্তু ইলুমা, সেই যাদুকর (মায়াবী) (এইভাবে নামের অনুবাদ করা হয়েছে) তাদের বিরোধিতা করছিল; সে চেষ্টা করছিল যেন রাজ্যপাল বিশ্বাস থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেয়। BSB BSB: But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith.

BSB BSB: and said, “O child of the devil and enemy of all righteousness, you are full of all kinds of deceit and trickery! Will you never stop perverting the straight ways of the Lord?
11 ULB এখন দেখ, প্রভুর হাত তোমার উপরে আছে, তুমি অন্ধ হয়ে যাবে, কিছুদিন সূর্য্য দেখতে পাবে না। আর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে তাঁর উপর এক গভীর অন্ধকার নেমে এলো, তারফলে সে হাত ধরে চালানোর লোকের খোঁজ করতে এদিক ওদিক চলতে লাগল। BSB BSB: Now look, the hand of the Lord is against you, and for a time you will be blind and unable to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.
12 ULB তখন প্রাচীন রোমের শাসক সেই ঘটনা ও প্রভুর উপদেশ শুনে আশ্চর্য্য হলেন এবং বিশ্বাস করলেন। BSB BSB: When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.
13 ULB পৌল ও তাঁর সঙ্গীরা পাফঃ শহর থেকে জাহাজে করে পাম্ফুলিয়া দেশের পর্গা শহরে উপস্থিত হলেন। তখন যোহন (মার্ক) তাদের ছেড়ে চলে গেলেন ও যিরূশালেমে ফিরে গেলেন। BSB BSB: After setting sail from Paphos, Paul and his companions came to Perga in Pamphylia, where John left them to return to Jerusalem.
15 ULB ব্যবস্থা ও ভাববাদীদের বই পাঠ সমাপ্ত হলে পর সমাজঘরের নেতারা তাঁদের কাছে একটা বার্তা পাঠালেন এবং বললেন ভাইয়েরা, লোকেদের কাছে শিক্ষা দেওয়ার যদি কিছু থাকে আপনারা বলুন। BSB BSB: After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the synagogue leaders sent word to them: “Brothers, if you have a word of encouragement for the people, please speak.”
17 ULB এই ইস্রায়েল জাতির ঈশ্বর আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের মনোনীত করেছেন এবং এই জাতি যখন মিশর দেশে প্রবাস করছিল, তখন তাদেরকে উন্নত (বংশ বৃদ্ধি) করলেন এবং তাঁর শক্তি দিয়ে তাদেরকে বার করে আনলেন। BSB BSB: The God of the people of Israel chose our fathers. He made them into a great people during their stay in Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out of that land.
18 ULB আর তিনি মরূপ্রান্তে প্রায় চল্লিশ বছর তাঁদের ব্যবহার সহ্য করলেন। BSB BSB: He endured their conduct for about forty years in the wilderness.
19 ULB পরে তিনি কনান দেশের সাত জাতিকে উচ্ছেদ করলেন ও ইস্রায়েল জাতিকে সেই সমস্ত জাতির দেশ দিলেন। এইভাবে চারশো পঞ্চাশ বছর কেটে যায়। BSB BSB: And having vanquished seven nations in Canaan, He gave their land to His people as an inheritance.
20 ULB এর পরে শমুয়েল ভাববাদীর সময় পর্যন্ত তাদের কয়েক জন বিচারক দিলেন। BSB BSB: All this took about 450 years. After this, God gave them judges until the time of Samuel the prophet.
21 ULB তারপরে তারা একজন রাজা চাইল, তারফলে ঈশ্বর তাদের চল্লিশ বছরের জন্য বিন্যামীন বংশের কিসের ছেলে শৌলকে দিলেন। BSB BSB: Then the people asked for a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, from the tribe of Benjamin, who ruled forty years.

I am not that One. But there is One coming after me whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’

30 ULB কিন্তু ঈশ্বর তাঁকে মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে জীবিত করলেন। BSB BSB: But God raised Him from the dead,
31 ULB আর যারা তাঁর সঙ্গে গালীল থেকে যিরূশালেমে এসেছিলেন, তাঁদের তিনি অনেকদিন পর্যন্ত দেখা দিলেন; তাঁরাই এখন সমস্ত মানুষের কাছে তাঁর সাক্ষী। BSB BSB: and for many days He was seen by those who had accompanied Him from Galilee to Jerusalem. They are now His witnesses to our people.
32 ULB তাই আমরা আপনাদের কাছে এই সুসমাচার জানাচ্ছি যা, ঈশ্বর আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের কাছে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছিলেন যে, BSB BSB: And now we proclaim to you the good news: What God promised our fathers

As it is written in the second Psalm: ‘You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.’

As He has said: ‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.’
35 ULB এই জন্য তিনি অন্য গীতেও বলেছেন, "তুমি তোমার সাধু কে ক্ষয় দেখতে দেবে না"। BSB BSB: So also, He says in another Psalm: ‘You will not let Your Holy One see decay.’

37 ULB কিন্তু ঈশ্বর যাকে জীবিত করেছেন, তিনি ক্ষয় দেখেননি। BSB BSB: But the One whom God raised from the dead did not see decay.
38 ULB সুতরাং হে আমার ভাইয়েরা, আপনাদের জানা দরকার যে, এই ব্যক্তির মাধ্যমেই পাপ ক্ষমার বিষয়ে প্রচার করা হচ্ছে; BSB BSB: Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you.
39 ULB আর মোশির ব্যবস্থা দিয়ে আপনারা পাপের ক্ষমা পাননি, কিন্তু যে কেউ সেই ব্যক্তিকে বিশ্বাস করবে সে পাপের ক্ষমা লাভ করবে। BSB BSB: Through Him everyone who believes is justified from everything from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

42 ULB পৌল ও বার্ণবা সমাজঘর ছেড়ে যাওয়ার সময়, লোকেরা তাঁদের অনুরোধ করলেন, যেন তাঁরা পরের বিশ্রামবারে এই বিষয়ে আরোও কিছু বলেন। BSB BSB: As Paul and Barnabas were leaving the synagogue, the people urged them to continue this message on the next Sabbath.
43 ULB সমাজঘরের সভা শেষ হবার পর অনেক যিহূদী ও যিহূদী ধর্মান্তরিত ভক্ত লোকেরা পৌল ও বার্ণবার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে গেল; তাঁরা তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন, ও ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহে স্থির থাকতে বললেন। BSB BSB: After the synagogue was dismissed, many of the Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who spoke to them and urged them to continue in the grace of God.
44 ULB পরের বিশ্রামবারে শহরের প্রায় সমস্ত লোক ঈশ্বরের বাক্য শুনতে সমবেত হলো। BSB BSB: On the following Sabbath, nearly the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord.
45 ULB যখন যিহূদীরা লোকের সমাবেশ দেখলো, তারা হিংসায় পরিপূর্ণ হল এবং তাঁকে নিন্দা করতে করতে পৌলের কথায় প্রতিবাদ করতে লাগল। BSB BSB: But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and they blasphemously contradicted what Paul was saying.
46 ULB কিন্তু পৌল ও বার্ণবা সাহসের সঙ্গে উত্তর দিলেন ও বললেন, প্রথমে তোমাদের কাছে ঈশ্বরের বাক্য প্রচার করা উচিত; দেখলাম তোমরা এই বিষয়টিকে অগ্রাহ্য করে দুরে সরিয়ে দিয়েছ, আর নিজেদের অনন্ত জীবনের অযোগ্য করে তুলেছ, তাই আমরা অযিহূদীদের কাছে যাব। BSB BSB: Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “It was necessary to speak the word of God to you first. But since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.
47 ULB কারণ প্রভু আমাদের এমনই আদেশ দিয়েছেন, "আমি তোমাকে সমস্ত জাতির কাছে আলোর মত করেছি, যেন তুমি পৃথিবীর সমস্ত মানুষের কাছে পরিত্রাণ স্বরূপ হও।" BSB BSB: For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

50 ULB কিন্তু যিহূদীরা ভক্ত ভদ্র মহিলা ও শহরের প্রধান নেতাদের উত্তেজিত করে, পৌল ও বার্ণবার উপর অত্যাচার শুরু করল এবং তাঁদের শহরের সীমানার বাইরে তাঁদের তাড়িয়ে দিল। BSB BSB: The Jews, however, incited the religious women of prominence and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas and drove them out of their district.
51 ULB তখন তাঁরা সেই লোকেদের বিরুদ্ধে পায়ের ধূলো ঝেড়ে ফেলে ইকনিয় শহরে গেলেন। BSB BSB: So they shook the dust off their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium.
52 ULB এবং শিষ্যরা আনন্দে ও পবিত্র আত্মায় পরিপূর্ণ হতে থাকলেন। BSB BSB: And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
