1. 1ULBসমস্ত পৃথিবীতে এক ভাষা ও একই কথা ছিল।BSBBSB: Now the whole world had one language and a common form of speech.
2. 2ULBপরে লোকেরা পূর্বদিকে ঘুরতে ঘুরতে শিনিয়র দেশে এক সমভূমি পেয়ে সে জায়গায় বাস করল;BSBBSB: And as people journeyed eastward, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there.
3. 3ULBআর একে-অপরকে বলল, "এস, আমরা ইট তৈরী করে আগুনে পোড়াই," তাতে তাদের পাথরের পরিবর্তে ইট ও চূনের পরিবর্তে আলকাতরা ছিল।BSBBSB: And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” So they used brick instead of stone, and tar instead of mortar.
4. 4ULBপরে তারা বলল, "এস, আমরা নিজেদের জন্য এক শহর ও আকাশকে নাগাল পেতে পারে এমন এক উঁচু বাড়ি (মিনার) তৈরী করে নিজেদের নাম বিখ্যাত করি, যদি সমস্ত পৃথিবীতে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে পড়ি।"BSBBSB: “Come,” they said, “let us build for ourselves a city with a tower that reaches to the heavens, that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of all the earth.”
5. 5ULBপরে মানুষেরা যে শহর ও উচু বাড়ি (মিনার) তৈরী করছিল, তা দেখতে সদাপ্রভু নেমে এলেন।BSBBSB: Then the LORD came down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men were building.
6. 6ULBআর সদাপ্রভু বললেন, "দেখ, তারা সবাই এক জাতি ও এক ভাষাবাদী; এখন এই কাজে যুক্ত হল; এর পরে যা কিছু করতে ইচ্ছা করবে, তা থেকে তারা থেমে যাবে না।BSBBSB: And the LORD said, “If they have begun to do this as one people speaking the same language, then nothing they devise will be beyond them.
7. 7ULBএস, আমরা নিচে গিয়ে, সেই জায়গায় তাদের ভাষার ভেদ জন্মাই, যেন তারা এক জন অন্যের ভাষা বুঝতে না পারে।"BSBBSB: Come, let Us go down and confuse their language, so that they will not understand one another’s speech.”
8. 8ULBআর সদাপ্রভু সেখান থেকে সমস্ত পৃথিবীতে তাদেরকে ছিন্নভিন্ন করলেন এবং তারা শহর তৈরী করা থেকে থেমে গেল।BSBBSB: So the LORD scattered them from there over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building the city.
9. 9ULBএই জন্য সেই শহরের নাম বাবিল ভেদ হল; কারণ সেই জায়গায় সদাপ্রভু সমস্ত পৃথিবীর ভাষার ভেদ জন্মিয়েছিলেন এবং সেখান থেকে সদাপ্রভু তাদেরকে সমস্ত পৃথিবীতে ছিন্নভিন্ন করেছিলেন।BSBBSB: That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth.
10. 10ULBশেমের বংশ-বৃত্তান্ত এই। শেম একশো বছর বয়সে, বন্যার দুই বছর পরে, অর্ফকষদের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: This is the account of Shem. Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.
11. 11ULBঅর্ফকষদের জন্ম দিলে পর শেম পাঁচশো বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Arphaxad, Shem lived 500 years and had other sons and daughters.
12. 12ULBঅর্ফকষদ পঁয়ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে শেলহের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Arphaxad was 35 years old, he became the father of Shelah.
13. 13ULBশেলহের জন্ম দিলে পর অর্ফকষদ চারশো তিন বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Shelah, Arphaxad lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.
14. 14ULBশেলহ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে এবরের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Shelah was 30 years old, he became the father of Eber.
15. 15ULBএবরের জন্ম দিলে পর শেলহ চারশো তিন বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Eber, Shelah lived 403 years and had other sons and daughters.
16. 16ULBএবর চৌত্রিশ বছর বয়সে পেলগের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Eber was 34 years old, he became the father of Peleg.
17. 17ULBপেলগের জন্ম দিলে পর এবর চারশো ত্রিশ বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Peleg, Eber lived 430 years and had other sons and daughters.
18. 18ULBপেলগ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে রিয়ূর জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Peleg was 30 years old, he became the father of Reu.
19. 19ULBরিয়ূর জন্ম দিলে পর পেলগ দুইশো নয় বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Reu, Peleg lived 209 years and had other sons and daughters.
20. 20ULBরিয়ূ বত্রিশ বছর বয়সে সরূগের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Reu was 32 years old, he became the father of Serug.
21. 21ULBসরূগের জন্ম দিলে পর রিয়ূ দুশো সাত বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Serug, Reu lived 207 years and had other sons and daughters.
22. 22ULBসরূগ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে নাহোরের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Serug was 30 years old, he became the father of Nahor.
23. 23ULBনাহোরের জন্ম দিলে পর সরূগ দুশো বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.
24. 24ULBনাহোর উনত্রিশ বছর বয়সে তেরহের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Nahor was 29 years old, he became the father of Terah.
25. 25ULBতেরহের জন্ম দিলে পর নাহোর একশো উনিশ বছর জীবিত থেকে আরও ছেলেমেয়ের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: And after he had become the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.
26. 26ULBতেরহ সত্তর বছর বয়সে অব্রাম, নাহোর ও হারণের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: When Terah was 70 years old, he became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
27. 27ULBতেরহের বংশ বৃত্তান্ত এই। তেরহ অব্রাম, নাহোর ও হারণের জন্ম দিলেন।BSBBSB: This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.
28. 28ULBআর হারণ লোটের জন্ম দিলেন। কিন্তু হারণ নিজের বাবা তেরহের সামনে নিজের জন্মস্থান কলদীয় দেশের উরে প্রাণত্যাগ করলেন।BSBBSB: During his father Terah’s lifetime, Haran died in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans.
29. 29ULBঅব্রাম ও নাহর উভয়েই বিয়ে করলেন; অব্রাহামের স্ত্রীর নাম সারী ও নাহোরের স্ত্রীর নাম মিলকা। এই স্ত্রী হারণের মেয়ে; হারণ মিলকার ও যিস্কার বাবা।BSBBSB: And Abram and Nahor took wives for themselves. Abram’s wife was named Sarai, and Nahor’s wife was named Milcah; she was the daughter of Haran, who was the father of both Milcah and Iscah.
30. 30ULBসারী বন্ধ্যা ছিলেন, তাঁর সন্তান হল না।BSBBSB: But Sarai was barren; she had no children.
31. 31ULBআর তেরহ নিজের ছেলে অব্রামকে ও হারণের ছেলে নিজের নাতি লোটকে এবং অব্রাহামের স্ত্রী সারী নাম্নী ছেলের স্ত্রীকে সঙ্গে নিলেন; তাঁরা একসঙ্গে কনান দেশে যাবার জন্য কলদীয় দেশের ঊর থেকে যাত্রা করলেন; আর হারণ নগর পর্যন্ত গিয়ে সেখানে বাস করলেন।BSBBSB: And Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai the wife of Abram, and they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans for the land of Canaan. But when they arrived in Haran, they settled there.
32. 32ULBপরে তেরহের দুশো পাঁচ বছর বয়স হলে হারণে তাঁর মৃত্যু হল।BSBBSB: Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.
