4 ULB আর গালীলে যাবার সময় শমরিয়ার মধ্য দিয়ে তাঁকে যেতে হল। BSB BSB: Now He had to pass through Samaria.
5 ULB তখন তিনি শুখর নামক শমরিয়ার এক শহরের কাছে আসলেন; যাকোব তাঁর পুত্র যোষেফকে যে জমি দান করেছিলেন এই শহর তার কাছে। BSB BSB: So He came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.
6 ULB আর সেই জায়গায় যাকোবের কূপ ছিল। তখন যীশু হাঁটতে হাঁটতে ক্লান্ত হয়ে পড়লে সেই কূপের পাশে বসলেন। তখন অনুমানে দুপুর বেলা ছিল। BSB BSB: Since Jacob’s well was there, Jesus, weary from His journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
7 ULB শমরিয়ার একজন স্ত্রীলোক জল তুলতে এসেছিলেন এবং যীশু তাকে বললেন, "আমাকে পান করবার জন্য একটু জল দাও"। BSB BSB: When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
8 ULB কারণ তাঁর শিষ্যেরা খাবার কেনার জন্য শহরে গিয়েছিলেন। BSB BSB: (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 ULB তখন শমরীয় স্ত্রীলোকটী তাঁকে বললেন, আপনি ইহূদি হয়ে কেমন করে আমার কাছে পান করবার জন্য জল চাইছেন? আমি ত একজন শমরীয় স্ত্রীলোক।- কারণ শমরীয়দের সঙ্গে ইহূদিদের কোনো আদান প্রদান নেই। BSB BSB: “You are a Jew,” said the woman. “How can You ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)

11 ULB স্ত্রীলোকটী তাঁকে বলল, মহাশয়, জল তোলার জন্য আপনার কাছে বালতি নেই এবং কূপটীও গভীর; তবে সেই জীবন জল আপনি কোথা থেকে পেলেন? BSB BSB: “Sir,” the woman replied, “You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where then will You get this living water?
12 ULB আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষ যাকোব থেকে কি আপনি মহান? যিনি আমাদেরকে এই কূপ দিয়েছেন, আর এই কূপের জল তিনি নিজে ও তাঁর পুত্রেরা পান করতেন ও তার পশুর পালও পান করত। BSB BSB: Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock?”
13 ULB যীশু উত্তর দিয়ে তাকে বললেন, যে কেউ এই জল পান করে, তার আবার পিপাসা পাবে; BSB BSB: Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.
14 ULB কিন্তু আমি যে জল দেব তা যে কেউ পান করবে তার আর কখনও পিপাসা পাবে না; বরং আমি তাকে যে জল দেব তা তার অন্তরে এমন জলের ফোয়ারার মত হবে যা অনন্ত জীবন পর্যন্ত উথলিয়ে উঠবে। BSB BSB: But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a fount of water springing up to eternal life.”
15 ULB স্ত্রীলোকটী তাঁকে বলল, মহাশয়, সেই জল আমাকে দিন যেন আমার পিপাসা না পায় এবং জল তোলার জন্য এখানে না আসতে হয়। BSB BSB: The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I will not get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
16 ULB যীশু তাকে বললেন, যাও আর তোমার স্বামীকে এখানে ডেকে নিয়ে এসো। BSB BSB: Jesus told her, “Go, call your husband and come back.”
17 ULB স্ত্রীলোকটী উত্তরে তাঁকে বললেন, আমার স্বামী নেই। যীশু তাকে উত্তরে বললেন, তুমি ভালই বলেছ যে, আমার স্বামী নেই; BSB BSB: “I have no husband,” the woman replied. Jesus said to her, “You are correct to say that you have no husband.
18 ULB কারণ তোমার পাঁচটি স্বামী ছিল এবং এখন তোমার সঙ্গে যে আছে সে তোমার স্বামী নয়; এটা তুমি সত্য কথা বলেছ। BSB BSB: In fact, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. You have spoken truthfully.”
19 ULB স্ত্রীলোকটী তাঁকে বলল, মহাশয়, আমি দেখছি যে আপনি একজন ভবিষ্যৎ বক্তা। BSB BSB: “Sir,” the woman said, “I see that You are a prophet.
21 ULB যীশু তাকে উত্তর দিয়ে বললেন, হে নারী, আমাকে বিশ্বাস কর; একটা সময় আসছে যখন তোমরা না এই পর্বতে না যিরূশালেমে পিতার উপাসনা করবে। BSB BSB: “Believe Me, woman,” Jesus replied, “a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.
23 ULB যদিও এমন সময় আসছে বরং এখনই সেই সময়, যখন প্রকৃত উপাসনাকারীরা আত্মায় ও সত্যে পিতার উপাসনা করবে; কারণ বাস্তবিক পিতা এই রকম উপাসনাকারী কে খোঁজ করেন। BSB BSB: But a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such as these to worship Him.
24 ULB ঈশ্বর আত্মা; এবং যারা তাঁকে উপাসনা করে, তাদেরকে আত্মায় ও সত্যে উপাসনা করতে হবে। BSB BSB: God is Spirit, and His worshipers must worship Him in spirit and in truth.”
25 ULB স্ত্রীলোকটী তাঁকে বলল, আমি জানি যে মশীহ আসছেন, যাকে খ্রীষ্ট বলে, তিনি যখন আসবেন তখন আমাদেরকে সব কিছু জানাবেন। BSB BSB: The woman said, “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When He comes, He will explain everything to us.”
26 ULB যীশু তাকে বললেন, আমি, যে তোমার সঙ্গে কথা বলছি, আমিই সেই। BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “I who speak to you am He.”
27 ULB ঠিক সেই সময়ে তাঁর শিষ্যরা ফিরে আসলেন। আর তারা আশ্চর্য্য হলেন যে তিনি কেন একটি স্ত্রীলোকের সঙ্গে কথা বলছেন, যদিও কেউ বলেননি, আপনি কি চান? অথবা কি জন্য তার সঙ্গে কথা বলছেন? BSB BSB: Just then His disciples returned and were surprised that He was speaking with a woman. But no one asked Him, “What do You want from her?” or “Why are You talking with her?”
28 ULB তখন সেই স্ত্রীলোকটী নিজের কলসী ফেলে রেখে শহরে ফিরে গেল এবং লোকদের বলল, BSB BSB: Then the woman left her water jar, went back into the town, and said to the people,
29 ULB এস, দেখো একজন মানুষ আমি যা কিছু আজ পর্যন্ত করেছি তিনি সব কিছুই আমাকে বলে দিলেন; তিনি কি সেই খ্রীষ্ট নন? BSB BSB: “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”
30 ULB তারা শহর থেকে বের হয়ে তাঁর কাছে আসলেন। BSB BSB: So they left the town and made their way toward Jesus.
31 ULB এর মধ্যে শিষ্যরা তাঁকে আবেদন করে বললেন, রব্বি, কিছু খেয়ে নিন। BSB BSB: Meanwhile the disciples urged Him, “Rabbi, eat something.”
32 ULB কিন্তু তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, আমার কাছে খাবার জন্য খাদ্য আছে যার সম্পর্কে তোমরা জান না। BSB BSB: But He told them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.”
33 ULB সেইজন্য শিষ্যেরা একে অপরকে বলতে লাগলেন, কেউ তো ওনার খাবার জন্য কিছু আনেনি, এনেছে কি? BSB BSB: So the disciples asked one another, “Could someone have brought Him food?”
34 ULB যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, আমার খাদ্য এই যে যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন যেন তাঁর ইচ্ছা পালন করি এবং তাঁর কাজ সম্পূর্ণ করি। BSB BSB: Jesus explained, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.
35 ULB তোমরা কি বল না, "এখনো চার মাস বাকি তারপরে শস্য কাটবার সময় আসবে? আমি তোমাদেরকে বলছি, চোখ তুলে শস্য ক্ষেতের দিকে তাকাও, শস্য পেকে গেছে, কাটার সময় হয়েছে।" BSB BSB: Do you not say, ‘There are still four months until the harvest’? I tell you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ripe for harvest.
36 ULB যে ফসল কাটে সে বেতন পায় এবং অনন্ত জীবনের জন্য ফল জড়ো করে রাখে; সুতরাং যে বীজ বোনে ও যে ফসল কাটে সবাই একসঙ্গে আনন্দ করে। BSB BSB: Already the reaper draws his wages and gathers a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.
37 ULB কারণ এই কথা সত্য যে, একজন বোনে অন্য একজন কাটে। BSB BSB: For in this case the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true.

39 ULB সেই শহরের শমরীয়েরা অনেকে তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করল কারণ সেই স্ত্রীলোকটী সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছিল যে, আমি যা কিছু আজ পর্যন্ত করেছি তিনি আমাকে সব কিছুই বলে দিয়েছেন। BSB BSB: Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”
40 ULB সুতরাং সেই শমরীয়েরা যখন তাঁর কাছে আসল, তারা তখন তাঁকে অনুরোধ করল যেন তিনি তাদের সঙ্গে থাকেন এবং তাতে তিনি দুই দিন সেখানে ছিলেন। BSB BSB: So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.
41 ULB এবং আরও অনেক লোক তাঁর কথা শুনে বিশ্বাস করল; BSB BSB: And many more believed because of His message.
42 ULB তারা সেই স্ত্রীলোককে বলতে লাগল, আমরা যে বিশ্বাস করছি সে শুধুমাত্র তোমার কথা শুনে নয়, কারণ আমরা নিজেরা শুনেছি ও এখন জানতে পেরেছি যে, ইনি হলেন প্রকৃত জগতের ত্রাণকর্তা। BSB BSB: They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”
43 ULB সেই দুই দিনের পর তিনি সেখান থেকে বেরিয়ে গালীলে যাবার জন্য রওনা দিলেন। BSB BSB: After two days, Jesus left for Galilee.
44 ULB কারণ যীশু নিজে সাক্ষ্য দিয়েছিলেন যে, ভবিষ্যৎ বক্তা তাঁর নিজের দেশে সম্মান পান না। BSB BSB: Now He Himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in his own hometown.
45 ULB যখন তিনি গালীলে আসলেন তখন গালীলীয়েরা তাঁকে সাদরে গ্রহণ করেছিল, যিরূশালেমে পর্বের সময়ে তিনি যা কিছু করেছিলেন, সে সব তারা দেখেছিল; কারণ তারাও সেই পর্ব্বে গিয়েছিল। BSB BSB: Yet when He arrived, the Galileans welcomed Him. They had seen all the great things He had done in Jerusalem at the feast, for they had gone there as well.
46 ULB পরে তিনি আবার গালীলের সেই কান্না শহরে আসলেন, যেখানে তিনি জলকে আঙ্গুর রস বানিয়েছিলেন। সেখানে একজন রাজকর্মী ছিলেন যাঁর ছেলে কফরনাহূমে অসুস্থ ছিল। BSB BSB: So once again He came to Cana in Galilee, where He had turned the water into wine. And there was a royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.
47 ULB যখন তিনি শুনলেন যীশু যিহূদিয়া থেকে গালীলে এসেছেন তিনি তাঁর কাছে গেলেন এবং অনুরোধ করলেন যেন তিনি আসেন এবং তাঁর ছেলেকে সুস্থ করেন যে প্রায় মরে যাবার মত হয়েছিল। BSB BSB: When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Him to come down and heal his son, who was about to die.
48 ULB তখন যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, চিহ্ন এবং বিষ্ময়জনক কাজ যতক্ষণ না দেখ, তোমরা বিশ্বাস করবে না। BSB BSB: Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe.”
49 ULB সেই রাজকর্মী তাঁকে বললেন, হে প্রভু আমার ছেলেটা মরার আগে আসুন। BSB BSB: “Sir,” the official said, “come down before my child dies.”
50 ULB যীশু তাঁকে বললেন যাও, তোমার ছেলে বেঁচে গেছে। সেই লোকটিকে যীশু যে কথা বললেন তিনি তা বিশ্বাস করলেন এবং তাঁর নিজের রাস্তায় চলে গেলেন। BSB BSB: “Go,” said Jesus. “Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at His word and departed.
51 ULB যখন তিনি যাচ্ছিলেন, সেই সময়ে তাঁর চাকরেরা তাঁর কাছে এসে বলল আপনার ছেলেটি বেঁচে গেছে। BSB BSB: And while he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.
52 ULB তখন তিনি তাদের কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন কোন সময় তার সুস্থ হওয়া শুরু হয়েছিল? তারা তাঁকে বলল, কাল প্রায় দুপুর একটার সময়ে তার জ্বর ছেড়ে গিয়েছে। BSB BSB: So he inquired as to the hour when his son had recovered, and they told him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.”
53 ULB তখন পিতা বুঝতে পারলেন, যীশু সেই ঘন্টাতেই তাঁকে বলেছিলেন, তোমার ছেলে বেঁচে গেছে; সুতরাং তিনি নিজে ও তাঁর পরিবারের সবাই বিশ্বাস করলেন। BSB BSB: Then the father realized that this was the very hour in which Jesus had told him, “Your son will live.” And he and all his household believed.
54 ULB যিহূদিয়া থেকে গালীলে আসবার পর যীশু আবার এই দ্বিতীয়বার আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করলেন। BSB BSB: This was now the second sign that Jesus performed after coming from Judea into Galilee.
