1 ULB যীশু জৈতুন পর্বতে চলে গেলেন। BSB BSB: But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 ULB খুব সকালে তিনি আবার মন্দিরে আসলেন এবং সব মানুষেরা তাঁর কাছে আসল, তখন তিনি বসে তাদেরকে শিক্ষা দিলেন। BSB BSB: Early in the morning He went back into the temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them.
3 ULB শিক্ষা গুরুরা এবং ফরীশীরা ব্যভিচার করেছে এমন একজন স্ত্রীলোককে ধরে তাঁর কাছে আনলো ও তাদের মাঝখানে দাঁড় করালো। BSB BSB: The scribes and Pharisees, however, brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before them
4 ULB তখন তারা যীশুকে বলল, হে গুরু, এই স্ত্রীলোকটী ব্যভিচার করেছে ও সেই কাজে ধরা পড়েছে। BSB BSB: and said, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
5 ULB আইন কানুনে মোশি এই রকম লোককে পাথর মারবার আদেশ আমাদের দিয়েছেন; আপনি তার সম্পর্কে কি বলেন? BSB BSB: In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such a woman. So what do You say?”
6 ULB তারা তাঁর পরীক্ষা নেবার জন্য ও জালে ফেলার জন্য এই কথা বলল যেন তাঁর নামে দোষ দেবার সূত্র খুঁজে পায়। কিন্তু যীশু মাথা নিচু করে আঙ্গুল দিয়ে মাটিতে লিখতে লাগলেন। BSB BSB: They said this to test Him, in order to have a basis for accusing Him. But Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His finger.
7 ULB যখন তারা বারবার তাঁকে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে লাগল, তিনি মাথা তুলে দাঁড়িয়ে তাদেরকে বললেন" তোমাদের মধ্যে যার কোনো পাপ নেই তাকেই প্রথমে তার উপরে পাথর মারতে দাও। BSB BSB: When they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to cast a stone at her.”
8 ULB তিনি আবার মাথা নিচু করে তাঁর আঙ্গুল দিয়ে মাটিতে লিখতে লাগলেন। BSB BSB: And again He bent down and wrote on the ground.
9 ULB যখন তারা এই কথা শুনল, তারা এক এক করে সবাই বাইরে চলে গেল, বড়রাই প্রথমে চলে গিয়েছিল, শেষ পর্যন্ত যীশু একাই অবশিষ্ট ছিলেন এবং সেই স্ত্রীলোকটী যে মাঝখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিল। BSB BSB: When they heard this, they began to go away one by one, beginning with the older ones, until only Jesus was left, with the woman standing there.
10 ULB তখন যীশু মাথা তুলে দাঁড়ালেন এবং তাকে বললেন, হে নারী, তোমার উপর অভিযোগকারীরা কোথায়? কেউ তোমাকে দোষী করে নি? BSB BSB: Then Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?”
11 ULB সে বলল, না প্রভু, কেউ করে নি। তখন যীশু বললেন, আমিও তোমাকে দোষী করছি না। যাও, এখন থেকে আর পাপ করো না। BSB BSB: “No one, Lord,” she answered. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Now go and sin no more.”
12 ULB যীশু আবার মানুষের কাছে কথা বললেন, তিনি বললেন, "আমি পৃথিবীর মানুষের আলো; যে কেউ আমার পিছন পিছন আসে সে কোন ভাবে অন্ধকারে চলবে না" কিন্তু জীবনের আলো পাবে। BSB BSB: Once again, Jesus spoke to the people and said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
13 ULB তাতে ফরীশীরা তাঁকে বলল, তুমি নিজের সম্পর্কে নিজে সাক্ষ্য দিচ্ছ; তোমার সাক্ষ্য সত্য নয়। BSB BSB: So the Pharisees said to Him, “You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not valid.”
14 ULB যীশু উত্তর দিয়ে তাদের বললেন, "যদিও আমি নিজের সম্পর্কে নিজে সাক্ষ্য দিই, তবুও আমার সাক্ষ্য সত্য। কারণ আমি কোথা থেকে এসেছি, কোথায় বা যাচ্ছি তা জানি; কিন্তু তোমরা জানো না আমি কোথা থেকে আসি বা কোথায় যাই"। BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is valid, because I know where I came from and where I am going. But you do not know where I came from or where I am going.
15 ULB তোমরা মানুষের চিন্তাধারায় বিচার করছ; আমি কারও বিচার করি না। BSB BSB: You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.
16 ULB অবশ্য আমি যদি বিচার করি, আমার বিচার সত্য কারণ আমি একা নয় কিন্তু আমি পিতার সঙ্গে আছি যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন। BSB BSB: But even if I do judge, My judgment is true, because I am not alone; I am with the Father who sent Me.
17 ULB এবং তোমাদের আইনেও লেখা আছে যে, দুই জন মানুষের সাক্ষ্য সত্য। BSB BSB: Even in your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid.
18 ULB আমি নিজে আমার সম্বন্ধে সাক্ষ্য দেই এবং পিতা যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনিও আমার সমন্ধে সাক্ষ্য দেন। BSB BSB: I am One who testifies about Myself, and the Father, who sent Me, also testifies about Me.”
19 ULB তারা তাঁকে বলল, তোমার পিতা কোথায়? যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, "তোমরা না আমাকে জান না আমার পিতাকে জান; যদি তোমরা আমাকে জানতে তবে আমার পিতাকেও জানতে। BSB BSB: “Where is Your Father?” they asked Him. “You do not know Me or My Father,” Jesus answered. “If you knew Me, you would know My Father as well.”
20 ULB এই সব কথা তিনি মন্দিরে শিক্ষা দেবার সময় প্রণামী ভান্ডার ঘরে বললেন এবং কেউ তাঁকে ধরল না, কারণ তখনও তাঁর সময় আসেনি। BSB BSB: He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts, near the treasury. Yet no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.
21 ULB তিনি আবার তাদেরকে বললেন, "আমি দূরে যাচ্ছি, তোমরা আমাকে খোঁজ করবে এবং তোমাদের পাপে মরবে। আমি যেখানে যাচ্ছি তোমরা সেখানে আসতে পারবে না"। BSB BSB: Again He said to them, “I am going away, and you will look for Me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”
22 ULB ইহূদিরা বলল, সে কি আত্মহত্যা করবে তাই তিনি বলছেন, আমি যেখানে যাচ্ছি সেখানে তোমরা আসতে পারবে না? BSB BSB: So the Jews began to ask, “Will He kill Himself, since He says, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come’?”
23 ULB যীশু তাদেরকে বললেন, তোমরা নিচ থেকে এসেছ আর আমি স্বর্গ থেকে এসেছি; তোমরা এই জগতের কিন্তু আমি এই জগতের থেকে নয়। BSB BSB: Then He told them, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.
24 ULB অতএব আমি তোমাদের বলেছিলাম যে তোমরা তোমাদের পাপে মরবে। কারণ যতক্ষণ না বিশ্বাস কর যে, আমিই যে সেই, তবে তোমরা তোমাদের পাপেই মরবে। BSB BSB: That is why I told you that you would die in your sins. For unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
25 ULB তখন তারা তাঁকে বলল, তুমি কে? যীশু তাদেরকে বললেন, "সেটাই তো শুরু থেকে তোমাদের বলে আসছি। BSB BSB: “Who are You?” they asked. “Just what I have been telling you from the beginning,” Jesus replied.
26 ULB তোমাদের সম্পর্কে বলবার ও বিচার করবার জন্য আমার কাছে অনেক কথা আছে। যাহোক, যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনি সত্য এবং আমি তাঁর কাছ থেকে যে সব শুনেছি সেই সব আমি পৃথিবীর মানুষকে বলছি। BSB BSB: “I have much to say about you and much to judge. But the One who sent Me is truthful, and what I have heard from Him, I tell the world.”
27 ULB তিনি যে তাদেরকে পিতার সমন্ধে বলছিলেন তা তারা বুঝতে পারে নি। BSB BSB: They did not understand that He was telling them about the Father.
28 ULB যীশু বললেন, যখন তোমরা মানবপুত্রকে উঁচুতে তুলবে তখন তোমরা জানতে পারবে যে আমিই তিনি এবং আমি নিজের থেকে কিছুই করি না, কিন্তু পিতা আমাকে যেমন শেখায় তেমন সব কথা বলি। BSB BSB: So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing on My own, but speak exactly what the Father has taught Me.
29 ULB যিনি আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনি আমার সঙ্গে আছেন এবং তিনি আমাকে একা ছেড়ে দেননি, কারণ আমি সবসময় তিনি যে কাজে সন্তুষ্ট হন সেই কাজ করি। BSB BSB: He who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, because I always do what pleases Him.”
30 ULB যীশু যখন এই সব কথা বলছিলেন অনেকে তাঁতে বিশ্বাস করল। BSB BSB: As Jesus spoke these things, many believed in Him.
31 ULB যে ইহূদিরা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করল তাদেরকে যীশু বললেন, "যদি তোমরা আমার শিক্ষা মেনে চল, তাহলে তোমরা সত্যই আমার শিষ্য; BSB BSB: So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples.
32 ULB এবং তোমরা সেই সত্য জানবে ও সেই সত্য তোমাদের মুক্ত করবে। BSB BSB: Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 ULB তারা তাঁকে উত্তর দিল, আমরা অব্রাহামের বংশ এবং কখনও কারও দাস হইনি; আপনি কেমন করে বলছেন তোমাদের মুক্ত করা হবে? BSB BSB: “We are Abraham’s descendants,” they answered. “We have never been slaves to anyone. How can You say we will be set free?”
34 ULB যীশু তাদেরকে উত্তর দিলেন, সত্য, সত্যই আমি তোমাদেরকে বলছি, যে কেউ পাপ কাজ করে সে হলো পাপের দাস। BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
35 ULB দাস চিরকাল বাড়িতে থাকে না কিন্তু সন্তান চিরকাল থাকেন। BSB BSB: A slave does not remain in the house forever, but a son remains forever.
36 ULB অতএব ঈশ্বর পুত্র যদি তোমাদের মুক্ত করেন তবে তোমরা সত্যই মুক্ত হবে। BSB BSB: So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
37 ULB আমি জানি যে তোমরা অব্রাহামের বংশধর; তোমরা আমাকে মেরে ফেলার জন্য চেষ্টা করছ, কারণ আমার বাক্য তোমাদের অন্তরে জায়গা পায়নি। BSB BSB: I know you are Abraham’s descendants, but you are trying to kill Me because My word has no place within you.
38 ULB আমি আমার পিতার কাছে যা কিছু দেখেছি তাই বলছি; আর তোমাদের পিতার কাছে তোমরা যা কিছু শুনেছ, সেই সব করছ। BSB BSB: I speak of what I have seen in the presence of the Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”
39 ULB তারা উত্তর দিয়ে তাঁকে বলল, আমাদের পিতা হলো অব্রাহাম। যীশু তাদেরকে বললেন, "তোমরা যদি অব্রাহামের সন্তান হতে, তবে তোমরা অব্রাহামের কাজগুলি করতে। BSB BSB: “Abraham is our father,” they replied. “If you were children of Abraham,” said Jesus, “you would do the works of Abraham.
40 ULB আমি ঈশ্বরের কাছে যে সত্য শুনেছি তাই তোমাদেরকে বলেছি তবুও, তোমরা আমাকে মেরে ফেলার জন্য চেষ্টা করছ"। অব্রাহাম এইগুলি করেননি। BSB BSB: But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing.

42 ULB যীশু তাদেরকে বললেন, ঈশ্বর যদি তোমাদের পিতা হতেন, তবে তোমরা আমাকে ভালবাসতে, কারণ আমি ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে এসেছি; আমি ত নিজের থেকে আসিনি কিন্তু তিনিই আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন। BSB BSB: Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on My own, but He sent Me.
43 ULB তোমরা কেন আমার কথা বুঝতে পারছ না? তার কারণ হলো, আমার কথা তোমরা শুনে সহ্য করতে পার না। BSB BSB: Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message.
45 ULB কিন্তু আমি সত্য বলি বলে তোমরা আমাকে বিশ্বাস কর না। BSB BSB: But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!
46 ULB তোমাদের মধ্যে কে আমাকে পাপী বলে দোষী করতে পারে? যদি আমি সত্য বলি, তবে কেন তোমরা আমাকে বিশ্বাস কর না? BSB BSB: Which of you can prove Me guilty of sin? If I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 ULB "যে কেউ ঈশ্বরের সে ঈশ্বরের সব কথা শোনে; তোমরা ঈশ্বরের কথা শোন না কারণ তোমরা ঈশ্বরের নও"। BSB BSB: Whoever belongs to God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”
48 ULB ইহূদিরা উত্তর দিয়ে তাঁকে বলল, আমরা কি সত্য বলিনি যে তুমি একজন শমরীয় এবং তোমাকে ভূতে ধরেছে? BSB BSB: The Jews answered Him, “Are we not right to say that You are a Samaritan and You have a demon?”
49 ULB যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, "আমাকে ভূতে ধরেনি কিন্তু আমি নিজের পিতাকে সম্মান করি আর তোমরা আমাকে অসম্মান কর"। BSB BSB: “I do not have a demon,” Jesus replied, “but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
50 ULB আমি নিজের গৌরব খোঁজ করি না; একজন আছেন যিনি খোঁজ করেন এবং তিনি বিচারক। BSB BSB: I do not seek My own glory. There is One who seeks it, and He is the Judge.
51 ULB সত্য, সত্যই আমি তোমাদের বলছি, কেউ যদি আমার বাক্য মেনে চলে সে কখনও মৃত্যু দেখবে না। BSB BSB: Truly, truly, I tell you, if anyone keeps My word, he will never see death.”
52 ULB ইহূদিরা তাঁকে বলল, এখন আমরা জানতে পারলাম যে তোমাকে ভূতে ধরেছে। অব্রাহাম ও ভবিষ্যৎ বক্তারা মরে গিয়েছেন কিন্তু তুমি বলছ কেউ যদি আমার বাক্য মেনে চলে সে কখনও মৃত্যুর স্বাদ পাবে না। BSB BSB: “Now we know that You have a demon!” declared the Jews. “Abraham died, and so did the prophets, yet You say that anyone who keeps Your word will never taste death.
53 ULB তুমি কি আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষ অব্রাহাম থেকেও মহান যিনি মরে গেছেন? ভবিষ্যৎ বক্তাও মরে গেছেন। তুমি নিজের সম্পর্কে কি মনে কর? BSB BSB: Are You greater than our father Abraham? He died, as did the prophets. Who do You claim to be?”
54 ULB যীশু উত্তর দিলেন, আমি যদি নিজেকে গৌরব করি, তবে আমার গৌরব কিছুই নয়; আমার পিতাই আমাকে প্রশংসা করছেন, যাঁর সম্পর্কে তোমরা বলে থাক যে, তিনি তোমাদের ঈশ্বর। BSB BSB: Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory means nothing. The One who glorifies Me is My Father, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’
55 ULB তোমরা তাঁকে জান না; কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে জানি; আমি যদি বলি যে তাঁকে জানি না তবে তোমাদের মত আমিও একজন মিথ্যাবাদী হব। যদিও আমি তাঁকে জানি এবং তাঁর বাক্য মেনে চলি। BSB BSB: You do not know Him, but I know Him. If I said I did not know Him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know Him, and I keep His word.
57 ULB তখন ইহূদিরা যীশুকে বলল, তোমার বয়স এখনও পঞ্চাশ বছর হয়নি, তুমি অব্রাহামকে কি দেখেছ? BSB BSB: Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and You have seen Abraham?”
59 ULB তখন তারা তাঁর উপর ছুঁড়ে মারবার জন্য পাথর তুলে নিল কিন্তু যীশু নিজেকে গোপন করলেন এবং উপাসনা ঘর থেকে বাইরে চলে গেলেন। BSB BSB: At this, they picked up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus was hidden and went out of the temple area.
