1. The Day of the Lord

   (Zephaniah 1:7–18; Malachi 4:1–6; 2 Peter 3:8–13)

2. 1BSBNow about the times and seasons, brothers, we do not need to write to you.KJVKJV: But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
3. 2BSBFor you are fully aware that the Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.KJVKJV: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
4. 3BSBWhile people are saying, “Peace and security,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.KJVKJV: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
5. 4BSBBut you, brothers, are not in the darkness so that this day should overtake you like a thief.KJVKJV: But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
6. 5BSBFor you are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness.KJVKJV: Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
7. 6BSBSo then, let us not sleep as the others do, but let us remain awake and sober.KJVKJV: Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
8. 7BSBFor those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.KJVKJV: For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
9. 8BSBBut since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the helmet of our hope of salvation.KJVKJV: But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
10. 9BSBFor God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.KJVKJV: For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
11. 10BSBHe died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.KJVKJV: Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
12. 11BSBTherefore encourage and build one another up, just as you are already doing.KJVKJV: Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

13. Christian Living

14. 12BSBBut we ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who work diligently among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you.KJVKJV: And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
15. 13BSBIn love, hold them in highest regard because of their work. Live in peace with one another.KJVKJV: And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
16. 14BSBAnd we urge you, brothers, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with everyone.KJVKJV: Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
17. 15BSBMake sure that no one repays evil for evil. Always pursue what is good for one another and for all people.KJVKJV: See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
