Berean Standard BibleKing James Version

1. Paul’s Hardships and God’s Grace

2. 1BSBAs God’s fellow workers, then, we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.KJVKJV: We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
3. 2BSBFor He says: “In the time of favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the time of favor; now is the day of salvation!KJVKJV: (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
4. 3BSBWe put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no one can discredit our ministry.KJVKJV: Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
5. 4BSBRather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships, and calamities;KJVKJV: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
6. 5BSBin beatings, imprisonments, and riots; in labor, sleepless nights, and hunger;KJVKJV: In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
7. 6BSBin purity, knowledge, patience, and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love;KJVKJV: By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
8. 7BSBin truthful speech and in the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;KJVKJV: By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
9. 8BSBthrough glory and dishonor, slander and praise; viewed as imposters, yet genuine;KJVKJV: By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
10. 9BSBunknown, yet well-known; dying, and yet we live on; punished, yet not killed;KJVKJV: As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
11. 10BSBsorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.KJVKJV: As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
12. 11BSBWe have spoken freely to you, Corinthians. Our hearts are open wide.KJVKJV: O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged.
13. 12BSBIt is not our affection, but yours, that is restrained.KJVKJV: Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels.
14. 13BSBAs a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.KJVKJV: Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged.

15. Do Not Be Unequally Yoked

16. 14BSBDo not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership can righteousness have with wickedness? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?KJVKJV: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
17. 15BSBWhat harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?KJVKJV: And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
18. 16BSBWhat agreement can exist between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be My people.”KJVKJV: And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
19. 17BSB“Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”KJVKJV: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
20. 18BSBAnd: “I will be a Father to you, and you will be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”KJVKJV: And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
