8. 7BSBThey had Peter and John brought in and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”KJVKJV: And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

17. 15BSBSo they ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin and then conferred together.KJVKJV: But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
18. 16BSB“What shall we do with these men?” they asked. “It is clear to everyone living in Jerusalem that a remarkable miracle has occurred through them, and we cannot deny it.KJVKJV: Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we can not deny it.
19. 17BSBBut to keep this message from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them not to speak to anyone in this name.”KJVKJV: But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
20. 18BSBThen they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.KJVKJV: And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
21. 19BSBBut Peter and John replied, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to listen to you rather than God.KJVKJV: But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
22. 20BSBFor we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”KJVKJV: For we can not but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
23. 21BSBAfter further threats they let them go. They could not find a way to punish them, because all the people were glorifying God for what had happened.KJVKJV: So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
