Berean Standard BibleKing James Version

1. The Ephod

   (Exodus 28:6–14)

2. 1BSBFrom the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn they made specially woven garments for ministry in the sanctuary, as well as the holy garments for Aaron, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.
3. 2BSBBezalel made the ephod of finely spun linen embroidered with gold, and with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn.KJVKJV: And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
4. 3BSBThey hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut threads from them to interweave with the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen—the work of a skilled craftsman.KJVKJV: And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.
5. 4BSBThey made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached at two of its corners, so it could be fastened.KJVKJV: They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.
6. 5BSBAnd the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod was of one piece with the ephod, of the same workmanship—with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.
7. 6BSBThey mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings, engraved like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.KJVKJV: And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.
8. 7BSBThen they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.

9. The Breastpiece

   (Exodus 28:15–30)

10. 8BSBHe made the breastpiece with the same workmanship as the ephod, with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen.KJVKJV: And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
11. 9BSBIt was square when folded over double, a span long and a span wide.KJVKJV: It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.
12. 10BSBAnd they mounted on it four rows of gemstones: The first row had a ruby, a topaz, and an emerald;KJVKJV: And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.
13. 11BSBthe second row had a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond;KJVKJV: And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
14. 12BSBthe third row had a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;KJVKJV: And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.
15. 13BSBand the fourth row had a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. These stones were mounted in gold filigree settings.KJVKJV: And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.
16. 14BSBThe twelve stones corresponded to the names of the sons of Israel. Each stone was engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.KJVKJV: And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.
17. 15BSBFor the breastpiece they made braided chains like cords of pure gold.KJVKJV: And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.
18. 16BSBThey also made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the two rings to the two corners of the breastpiece.KJVKJV: And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.
19. 17BSBThen they fastened the two gold chains to the two gold rings at the corners of the breastpiece,KJVKJV: And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.
20. 18BSBand they fastened the other ends of the two chains to the two filigree settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.KJVKJV: And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.
21. 19BSBThey made two more gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece, on the inside edge next to the ephod.KJVKJV: And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.
22. 20BSBThey made two additional gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, on its front, near the seam just above its woven waistband.KJVKJV: And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.
23. 21BSBThen they tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece was above the waistband of the ephod and would not swing out from the ephod, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.

24. Additional Priestly Garments

    (Exodus 28:31–43)

25. 22BSBThey made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth, the work of a weaver,KJVKJV: And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.
26. 23BSBwith an opening in the center of the robe like that of a garment, with a collar around the opening so that it would not tear.KJVKJV: And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.
27. 24BSBThey made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and finely spun linen on the lower hem of the robe.KJVKJV: And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.
28. 25BSBThey also made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates,KJVKJV: And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;
29. 26BSBalternating the bells and pomegranates around the lower hem of the robe to be worn for ministry, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.
30. 27BSBFor Aaron and his sons they made tunics of fine linen, the work of a weaver,KJVKJV: And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,
31. 28BSBas well as the turban of fine linen, the ornate headbands and undergarments of finely spun linen,KJVKJV: And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,
32. 29BSBand the sash of finely spun linen, embroidered with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.
33. 30BSBThey also made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and they engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD.KJVKJV: And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
34. 31BSBThen they fastened to it a blue cord to mount it on the turban, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.

The Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
37. 33BSBThen they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its frames, its crossbars, and its posts and bases;KJVKJV: And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,

45. 41BSBand the woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary, both the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.KJVKJV: The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons’ garments, to minister in the priest’s office.
46. 42BSBThe Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.KJVKJV: According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.
