1. The Valley of Dry Bones

2. 1BSBThe hand of the LORD was upon me, and He brought me out by His Spirit and set me down in the middle of the valley, and it was full of bones.KJVKJV: The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
3. 2BSBHe led me all around among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, and indeed, they were very dry.KJVKJV: And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
4. 3BSBThen He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones come to life?” “O Lord GOD,” I replied, “only You know.”KJVKJV: And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
5. 4BSBAnd He said to me, “Prophesy concerning these bones and tell them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!KJVKJV: Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
6. 5BSBThis is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will come to life.KJVKJV: Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
7. 6BSBI will attach tendons to you and make flesh grow upon you and cover you with skin. I will put breath within you so that you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”KJVKJV: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
8. 7BSBSo I prophesied as I had been commanded. And as I prophesied, there was suddenly a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to bone.KJVKJV: So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
9. 8BSBAs I looked on, tendons appeared on them, flesh grew, and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.KJVKJV: And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
10. 9BSBThen He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and tell the breath that this is what the Lord GOD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, so that they may live!”KJVKJV: Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
11. 10BSBSo I prophesied as He had commanded me, and the breath entered them, and they came to life and stood on their feet—a vast army.KJVKJV: So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
12. 11BSBThen He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope has perished; we are cut off.’KJVKJV: Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
13. 12BSBTherefore prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O My people, I will open your graves and bring you up from them, and I will bring you back to the land of Israel.KJVKJV: Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
14. 13BSBThen you, My people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.KJVKJV: And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
15. 14BSBI will put My Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.’”KJVKJV: And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.
