1. The Slaughter of Gog’s Armies

2. 1BSB“As for you, O son of man, prophesy against Gog and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal.KJVKJV: Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
3. 2BSBI will turn you around, drive you along, bring you up from the far north, and send you against the mountains of Israel.KJVKJV: And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
4. 3BSBThen I will strike the bow from your left hand and dash down the arrows from your right hand.KJVKJV: And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
5. 4BSBOn the mountains of Israel you will fall—you and all your troops and the nations with you. I will give you as food to every kind of ravenous bird and wild beast.KJVKJV: Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
6. 5BSBYou will fall in the open field, for I have spoken, declares the Lord GOD.KJVKJV: Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
7. 6BSBI will send fire on Magog and on those who dwell securely in the coastlands, and they will know that I am the LORD.KJVKJV: And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
8. 7BSBSo I will make My holy name known among My people Israel and will no longer allow it to be profaned. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.KJVKJV: So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
9. 8BSBYes, it is coming, and it will surely happen, declares the Lord GOD. This is the day of which I have spoken.KJVKJV: Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
10. 9BSBThen those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out, kindle fires, and burn up the weapons—the bucklers and shields, the bows and arrows, the clubs and spears. For seven years they will use them for fuel.KJVKJV: And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
11. 10BSBThey will not gather wood from the countryside or cut it from the forests, for they will use the weapons for fuel. They will loot those who looted them and plunder those who plundered them, declares the Lord GOD.KJVKJV: So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
12. 11BSBAnd on that day I will give Gog a burial place in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the Sea. It will block those who travel through, because Gog and all his hordes will be buried there. So it will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog.KJVKJV: And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog.
13. 12BSBFor seven months the house of Israel will be burying them in order to cleanse the land.KJVKJV: And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
14. 13BSBAll the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day I display My glory, declares the Lord GOD.KJVKJV: Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
15. 14BSBAnd men will be employed to continually pass through the land to cleanse it by burying the invaders who remain on the ground. At the end of the seven months they will begin their search.KJVKJV: And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
16. 15BSBAs they pass through the land, anyone who sees a human bone will set up a pillar next to it, until the gravediggers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog.KJVKJV: And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.
17. 16BSB(Even the city will be named Hamonah.) And so they will cleanse the land.KJVKJV: And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.
18. 17BSBAnd as for you, son of man, this is what the Lord GOD says: Call out to every kind of bird and to every beast of the field: ‘Assemble and come together from all around to the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, a great feast on the mountains of Israel. There you will eat flesh and drink blood.KJVKJV: And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
19. 18BSBYou will eat the flesh of the mighty and drink the blood of the princes of the earth as though they were rams, lambs, goats, and bulls—all the fattened animals of Bashan.KJVKJV: Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
20. 19BSBAt the sacrifice I am preparing, you will eat fat until you are gorged and drink blood until you are drunk.KJVKJV: And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
21. 20BSBAnd at My table you will eat your fill of horses and riders, of mighty men and warriors of every kind,’ declares the Lord GOD.KJVKJV: Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.

22. Israel to Be Restored

23. 21BSBI will display My glory among the nations, and all the nations will see the judgment that I execute and the hand that I lay upon them.KJVKJV: And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
24. 22BSBFrom that day forward the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God.KJVKJV: So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
25. 23BSBAnd the nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile for their iniquity, because they were unfaithful to Me. So I hid My face from them and delivered them into the hands of their enemies, so that they all fell by the sword.KJVKJV: And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
26. 24BSBI dealt with them according to their uncleanness and transgressions, and I hid My face from them.KJVKJV: According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
27. 25BSBTherefore this is what the Lord GOD says: Now I will restore Jacob from captivity and will have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name.KJVKJV: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
28. 26BSBThey will forget their disgrace and all the treachery they committed against Me, when they dwell securely in their land, with no one to frighten them.KJVKJV: After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
29. 27BSBWhen I bring them back from the peoples and gather them out of the lands of their enemies, I will show My holiness in them in the sight of many nations.KJVKJV: When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
30. 28BSBThen they will know that I am the LORD their God, when I regather them to their own land, not leaving any of them behind after their exile among the nations.KJVKJV: Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
31. 29BSBAnd I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD.”KJVKJV: Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
