Hebrews 13Hebrews13

Berean Standard BibleKing James Version

1. Brotherly Love

2. 1BSBContinue in brotherly love.KJVKJV: Let brotherly love continue.
3. 2BSBDo not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.KJVKJV: Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
4. 3BSBRemember those in prison as if you were bound with them, and those who are mistreated as if you were suffering with them.KJVKJV: Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
5. 4BSBMarriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.KJVKJV: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

6. Christ’s Unchanging Nature

7. 5BSBKeep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”KJVKJV: Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
8. 6BSBSo we say with confidence: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”KJVKJV: So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
9. 7BSBRemember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.KJVKJV: Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
10. 8BSBJesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.KJVKJV: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
11. 9BSBDo not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace and not by foods of no value to those devoted to them.KJVKJV: Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
12. 10BSBWe have an altar from which those who serve at the tabernacle have no right to eat.KJVKJV: We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
13. 11BSBAlthough the high priest brings the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, the bodies are burned outside the camp.KJVKJV: For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
14. 12BSBAnd so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate, to sanctify the people by His own blood.KJVKJV: Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
15. 13BSBTherefore let us go to Him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace He bore.KJVKJV: Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
16. 14BSBFor here we do not have a permanent city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.KJVKJV: For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

17. Sacrifice, Obedience, and Prayer

18. 15BSBThrough Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise, the fruit of lips that confess His name.KJVKJV: By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
19. 16BSBAnd do not neglect to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.KJVKJV: But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
20. 17BSBObey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who must give an account. To this end, allow them to lead with joy and not with grief, for that would be of no advantage to you.KJVKJV: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
21. 18BSBPray for us; we are convinced that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way.KJVKJV: Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
22. 19BSBAnd I especially urge you to pray that I may be restored to you soon.KJVKJV: But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

23. Benediction and Farewell

24. 20BSBNow may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,KJVKJV: Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
25. 21BSBequip you with every good thing to do His will. And may He accomplish in us what is pleasing in His sight through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.KJVKJV: Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
26. 22BSBI urge you, brothers, to bear with my word of exhortation, for I have only written to you briefly.KJVKJV: And I beseech you, brethren, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter unto you in few words.
27. 23BSBBe aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.KJVKJV: Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you.
28. 24BSBGreet all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings.KJVKJV: Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
29. 25BSBGrace be with all of you.KJVKJV: Grace be with you all. Amen.
