   (Psalm 23:1–6; Ezekiel 34:11–24)

2. 1BSB“Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the gate, but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.KJVKJV: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
3. 2BSBBut the one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.KJVKJV: But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
4. 3BSBThe gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen for his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.KJVKJV: To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
5. 4BSBWhen he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.KJVKJV: And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
6. 5BSBBut they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will flee from him because they do not recognize his voice.”KJVKJV: And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
7. 6BSBJesus spoke to them using this illustration, but they did not understand what He was telling them.KJVKJV: This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
8. 7BSBSo He said to them again, “Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.KJVKJV: Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
9. 8BSBAll who came before Me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.KJVKJV: All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
10. 9BSBI am the gate. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved. He will come in and go out and find pasture.KJVKJV: I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
11. 10BSBThe thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.KJVKJV: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
12. 11BSBI am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.KJVKJV: I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
13. 12BSBThe hired hand is not the shepherd, and the sheep are not his own. When he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf pounces on them and scatters the flock.KJVKJV: But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
14. 13BSBThe man runs away because he is a hired servant and is unconcerned for the sheep.KJVKJV: The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
15. 14BSBI am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me,KJVKJV: I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
16. 15BSBjust as the Father knows Me and I know the Father. And I lay down My life for the sheep.KJVKJV: As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
17. 16BSBI have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them in as well, and they will listen to My voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.KJVKJV: And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
18. 17BSBThe reason the Father loves Me is that I lay down My life in order to take it up again.KJVKJV: Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
19. 18BSBNo one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from My Father.”KJVKJV: No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
20. 19BSBAgain there was division among the Jews because of Jesus’ message.KJVKJV: There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.
21. 20BSBMany of them said, “He is demon-possessed and insane. Why would you listen to Him?”KJVKJV: And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
22. 21BSBBut others replied, “These are not the words of a man possessed by a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”KJVKJV: Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

23. Jesus at the Feast of Dedication

24. 22BSBAt that time the Feast of Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter,KJVKJV: And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

27. 25BSB“I already told you,” Jesus replied, “but you did not believe. The works I do in My Father’s name testify on My behalf.KJVKJV: Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me.
28. 26BSBBut because you are not My sheep, you refuse to believe.KJVKJV: But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
29. 27BSBMy sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.KJVKJV: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
30. 28BSBI give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand.KJVKJV: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
31. 29BSBMy Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.KJVKJV: My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.

35. 33BSB“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, make Yourself out to be God.”KJVKJV: The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
36. 34BSBJesus replied, “Is it not written in your Law: ‘I have said you are gods’?KJVKJV: Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
37. 35BSBIf he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and the Scripture cannot be broken—KJVKJV: If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
38. 36BSBthen what about the One whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world? How then can you accuse Me of blasphemy for stating that I am the Son of God?KJVKJV: Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
39. 37BSBIf I am not doing the works of My Father, then do not believe Me.KJVKJV: If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
40. 38BSBBut if I am doing them, even though you do not believe Me, believe the works themselves, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father.”KJVKJV: But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
